Hey everyone, here's a xylophone synthesizer i made in the editor, or at least what I think is a xylophone. I recorded the tones from my keyboard and forgot what it was, so I'll call it a xylophone. Anyways, haven't seen many music inspired games in SC2 so I made this in the editor as a concept. If you ever played with ToneMatrix, you'll know how this work. I'm sure were not gonna see see a lot of Rockband type games cause of the copyright sound and stuff, but I hope in the future there will be a few maps with interactive instruments. I actually made a drum pad before this but it was hard to demo. Well heres a video, turn on your speakers:
Sorry if theres any audio delay, had a hard time recording it.
Well, there you go, I didn't spend a lot of time cleaning it up so it's not as complex as it could be, but just trying to get the idea across. I don't have time to start a new map like this, but can someone make a 'guess the song' or even 'guess the animal' game. I'll be glad to help anyone who starts on that project :D
Heres the map, its all triggers except the sound links. SPACE to clear pylons.
Currently you have a major scale. You should think about incorporating sharps and flats on that scale so you can create a chromatic scale.

Yes it is but you cant just call it Tetris. You will have to call it something else such as Tetris Fun. EA owns the rights to the Tetris game this is why you cant call it that same name, but if you deviate the name a little then you can call it that.

Wait a bit blizzard is supposed to add somethings to the Legacy Library to make first person/3rd person camera systems work more efficiently with the camera. Not sure yet how they are going to correct the lag this causes. But this was talked about at Blizcon

This is a physics problem not a mathematician problem you should look up formulas of collisions. If you wanting the other object not to move then make sure it has an extremely large mass.

Most people have fireball wrong.
The original fireball is used to target an area. (AOE) type effect. Then when it hits its target it does a grenade type effect. After this it applies dots on all targets hit. If you want to create D&D version fireball don't forget the dot. Most people just do the first 1 or 2. Just cause this is what the movies originally did for it.

First of all, a dike refers to a levee or embankment designed to hold back water. A dyke is a derogatory term for a lesbian. And according to your Blizzard thread, a few users have listed other offensive words they've seen in your game. I never played the game so I can't really comment on that, but it is what it is.
For those of you saying "it's stupid they ban people over inappropriate word usage," it seems unlikely they banned him for ONE inappropriate word, but DYKE is particularly offensive. I know that here in Ontario, Canada, if you spray-painted DYKE on the hood of someone's car, they'd be investigating a hate crime.
I'm certain Rodrigo's intention wasn't to offend or hurt anyone, but his intentions don't matter. Blizzard is shielding its end-users from racist or sexually derogatory terms to protect the integrity of their game... as they should and as they are entitled to do so, since they made the game.
In the US if you spray paint someones care and get caught its jail time unless you can afford the damages to be repaired.

Blizzard is only covering their ass.
Look at it from a parents point of view. The game isn't rated NC-17 therefore. They can't allow anything in the game that can be considered at that level for the rating. As a parent would you want your kid to learn bad words or what you think are bad words. I know I wouldn't. This is why Blizzard took care of it quickly. I understand you used a database, but you have to read it first. Its like this when you write a paper you don't finish it without proof reading then revising.

Ill be honest think about it like this. If you have to really search to find a map. Or you dont have to search to find another map thats fun. Which are you going to do? People are naturally lazy and will always go the easy route until they get board of doing it. Or motivated by any other means.
Blizzard needs to offer a map search filter otherwise certain maps will never get played.

I honestly think most people are busy working on this projects at this point. And most people want to know how the map market place is going to work out. Personally I don't think trying to sell maps are going to compare in anyway with iPhone Apps. So I think the people are starting to trend more and more to the people who enjoy modding. Same way that wc3campaigns and hive work shop did at first when wc3 came out.
