posted a message on Weekly Terraining Exercise #14: E equals MC... doh, let me get my notepad

Thx. Lol. I've never seen that Prt Scrn Button b4. I'm gonna set up the units to face the right way, set up a reveal trigger, and take screenshots of the lab. I should have 3-6 when I'm done with my redo. I restarted completely fyi. I decided castanar everything theme would allow me to make an "actual" lab. Then I would add my own creativity into it.

Yay! I got all the screenshots done. (I took them while in-game so you'll see the taskbar) I put them in a compressed folder because I ended up taking a lot of screenshots. After awhile I 4got to take screenshots of overviews of entire rooms, but that's ok. To see the screenshots, you'll need to decompress them.

posted a message on [Left 4 Death 2.0] Teaser & Proof of Concept

Ya, infested civilians were those zombies from the campaign. If you type in infested civilian or civilian in the search bar, there should be 2 pictures (pick the one that doesn't say Infested civilian burrowed) of odd looking zombies that don't look anything like infested civilians in the icon. (Blizzard still makes bad icon pictures that can look like something completely different) Anyway, those zombies would do a lot better. They not only look more suitable, but they even have a melee attack AND the animation for it. Try it! :D

    @OneTwoSC: Go

I thought you did great OneTwo! :D Although, I never said any feedback. So, here it is.

I would have rather seen the ultralisk seem more large, so I was thinking maybe you could make it slower. Also, you could've made this trailor like A LOT of other ones where it shows the cinematic and then it transitions into short 5 second replays of the best parts in the game. You can do that part when the 2.0 is officially done. Also, those infested terrans suck. Why didn't you use the infested civilians? Well, I guess that's about it. Good job! :D

posted a message on Starcraft 1 Popularity System

I, for 1, think that the popularity system shouldn't matter on how many games are played, but how many ppl in total played it. Think about it. Games that require more ppl, but are more popular are down below. The games that are cheap and only need 1 person to play usually end up getting to the 1st page at some point. If 100 ppl play a game for atleast 5 minutes each. Then the popularity should equal 100. Srsly? The amount of games played popularity system sucks.

    posted a message on i broke my mouse D;

You guys have no idea what style is do you? To fix your mouse problem, you can...

    A) Scream (I call is SC (Starcraft) Cream or SCream)

    B) Toss it in the lake and see how many times it bounces on the surface.

    C) Grab the Chord and throw it down onto the ground untill all you have is the chord.

    D) Throw it through somebody's window (And maybe they'll fix it)

    Or...

    E) Sell it on Ebay for more than you bought it for and buy a new mouse.

posted a message on Extending Camera Bounds

I am reposting just in case you missed my edits.

Oh! Do you mean that you can't extend your "Camera" bounds? Well, you can't do that. But I don't see why you'd need to. You can simply just make a slightly bigger map, then extend the bounds to max. And finally, you can creste cliffs at the far adges to keep the player from moving his character beyond camera bounds.

Oh and the reason it's like that is because the camera bounds work like this. The center of your screen can't exit the camera bounds. This allows the sides of your screen to exit, but not the center. Understand?

posted a message on Extending Camera Bounds

Oh, well that's kinda easy. Here's some instructions.

    1) Go up to the top where you'll find File, Edit etc.

    2) Find the button that says "map"

    3) Click it and scroll down to map bounds. (It should be the 3rd option)

    4) It should now give you a new window with the minimap image. To change the map bounds, click the arrows on one of the sides.

And you are done with the lesson!

posted a message on Weekly Terraining Exercise #14: E equals MC... doh, let me get my notepad

Thx 4 mentioning all that. I was attempting a junky moon labratory, but it feels like it has something missing. I think the problem with the doorway to the inside doesn't have hills or cliffs and it literally only has the searchlights and the gate for doodads. The problem with the labs indoors is it doesn't have any computers, but I couldn't find any. As for the assembly line, I'll get right on that since I know how to do that part. I feel like the garage/factory compartment is missing something, but I can't put my finger on it. And thx for taking the pictures. I'll see if I can take my own when I update everything. :D

Edit: Can I please redo my terraining exercise? I just figured out why my original was so junky.

Edit: Whether you will let me or not, I've made a brand new labratory from scratch and I'm going to use that one because it's so much neater. My only problem is I don't understand where this take screenshot button is. Also, my map has fog which cannot be seen through the editor. I will have to take them through sc2. I'll need help on learning how to do that. Otherwise, I should have this map done with new pictures so I have a full redo of my terrain.

To all ppl who liked the video...plz credits OneTwoSC for the video. He did a really nice job. And as for ppl who don't like it. I'd like to see YOU do better. I can't even make a cinematic for my games. I might as well consider that the 3rd best cinematic that I've seen for a game. After all. It's not a movie. :D

posted a message on Custom map contest

I have a few questions and a few answers.

Question1) Do you like my team map building idea?

Answer1) I feel that we should makethe map size 64*64 to about 96*96.

Question2) What does everyone else think about size?

Answer2) I think the time limit to make the map should be ranged from 2 weeks to a month (Depends on sizes I put up)

Well, I tried to attach my actual mapto my reply, but it doesn't work. It says 500 something error. I can't attach pictures because...lol...I don't even know how to take them.

Edit: LOL. My attachment finally worksd lol.

Edit: My map is kinda junky, but I am too lazy to fix that up. I was going to do that later.

posted a message on Custom map contest

I would like to vote for Team custom map building. This is where multiple ppl build upon 1 map. This allows multiple opinions to create one excellent map. That will also make the map widely ranged in opinions which helps out in making more ppl like the map. This method also forces the contest to have less maps, but in return, you get much better and less junky maps as well. The only problem with this is ppl like to do things by themselves therefore causing it to be hard to group up teams. I was thinking that we could come up with ideas for maps that will be voted later on and finally we will pick the 2 best ones. Then, we split the voters into the 2 maps randomly. Then they, together, will create a new map in the maps section, plan everything out, start building it, put it together, test it, and finally present it 1 week later. Just a bunch of thoughts I was thinking of. How about it?

posted a message on [Released] The Final Frontier (space rts)

Wanna know what'd be REALLY cool? What'd be neat to see in middle betas is complete control of ship building. Example: You decide to build a cruiser. You go to the cruiser button and it doesn't start building yet. Instead, it takes you to a cool model viewer UI with complete overview of what the cruiser will look like through default. Then, you can decide how much Hp, shields, armor, damage, etc it has. The more you put, the more it costs. Then, you can choose the model design for each ship. (Each ship type {Fighter, cruiser, transport, corvette, etc.} has it's own list of models) If you don't know how to view models in the UI, ask Programmer. He just made a model viewer recently and that'd be really cool in this game. That'd make a really great way to customize ships. MAYBE! I have another idea! Maybe you can make that a way to customize Command Ships (Capitol Ships) which act as heroic ships. That'd be cool. Consider my thoughts. :D
