Just for everyone's info, issue has been partially fixed, main page additions are back up but us mods currently can't edit it until the devs fix markdown and give us mods the permissions to use it. But Mozared seems to be the only one that needs it (Yea, I'm lazy with keeping Map Night up to date...), so unless the devs take over a week this shouldn't become a problem.
Reputation and likes are what the community make of them. It is a way to show that you appreciate a user's post, nothing more, nothing less. It is not an indicator specifically of how informative a post is - It couldn't possibly be, unless the community uses it as such in the help forums.
Like Zolden speculated, we plan to make use of this data in other parts of the sites, and using it to enhance various features. Stay tuned.
Yo, Prencher It isnt that big of a deal, but could you make the Forum support Livestream videos?, this is just for Sc2Streamster so we dont have to go to livestream.com/sc2streamster
Flash is very heavy, especially live stream type objects. It also presents a very fluff feature and api set to maintain, for very little gain. Combine that with the cost of having them inserted randomly into pages, it is simply not worth it for us.
and as I said on the top secret moderator forums: Nice to see some work being done, Prencher ;) Keep it up! I'll get the newbies to buy you a drink as well (As soon as any of them actually does end up buying drinks...)
I'd say at Blizzcon '12, but then they cancelled it. :(
We deployed a few improvements today, updating how we format dates for posts, as well as fixing the last login and front page dates. We also added the ability to unlike a post you've previously liked.
Its still pretty large and pretty terrible, Its multiple Lines per post, Where as it use to be single lines. It hurts the eyes. Thanks for showing that you are trying to make it better though that alone is appreciated.
This was purely to shorten it in the other displays. Front page will be addressed separately, as will the last login info in the sidebar. Those are not supposed to use the generalized datetime rendering.
We just deployed a small update that condenses them a bit. As far as the front page, we'll see about getting that fixed. I do also want to introduce a bit of JS that converts the time to your local timezone instead of always showing UTC.
We've been working on backend stuff for the forums for a while now. Last week we deployed fixes for view counting, added some requested info to the user's info like location, a send pm link, the datetime changes and more visibly surfacing the permalink. More improvements are coming.
As far as likes and reputation: Liking will +1 the post, and +1 the author of the post. There is no downvoting because it leads to negativity and dislike/downvote trolling.
Trust me, it wasn't fun for us either. We've had 3 guys in the datacenter for the past 2-3 days, as well as a whole bunch of others, including yours truly, standing by on the sidelines ready to bring the sites back alive as soon as it became possible.

This is an issue with Markdown currently, we will be adding the appropriate support at some point in the future.
Until then, we've switched the default back to WikiCreole, both it and BBCode will work as expected.

You probably picked the wrong site if being "locked to curse" is bullshit to you, given that SC2Mapster is and always was a Curse website. ;)

Sorry about that, should be fixed now. One of the NAS volumes weren't re-mounted in the correct location.

Welcome back indeed. I need sleep. :)
