Yeah I think that's how the old version was.  Simply list the last 5-10 uploads the project, that's what I would expect from a "recent files" section after all. :)

Sorry do we have an active bug report list somewhere?  This is a good list you've started thus far

You know this feature doesn't work right?  :)

Any new uploads do not appear in this section.  A user has to go into the files of the project to get the files.  Just an FYI

If this is just a database, its a basic query update in how you ASC the sort option.  Happy to offer any guidance or thoughts if needed

posted a message on Map Popularity Search

Just thinking outloud, but the default search feature when searching for Projects->Maps is Popularity.  However, in the first screen you have maps in there that haven't been updated in 6 years.  Perhaps popularity needs to be better defined to the following in order of priority in what gets pushed up to the top for better visibility to the community:

    1) Last date of comments

    2) Last upload

    3) Last downloaded

    4) # of total downloads

This would rightfully put SCMR at the top of this list, but many others that are buried should be pushed further up top.  A map project that has a ton of comments back and forth, with recent uploads, recent downloads, should be high up.   # of total downloads should be least important, but still, taken into consideration when sorting out in this option.

Speed is amazing!  Much better formatting capabilities.

However - Would like better color schemas or have the option for a user to change the overall colors, including, perhaps, the ability to revert to a similar color set as the original.   Also needs better separation between posts, tables, content sets, etc.  Everything seems too open without any boarders.

That's awesome! Nice job. Have you been in contact with the Warcraft3 remake and mod the are working at with Armies of Azeroth? It should use the same base models as Blizzard provided but they've enhanced them to an incredible detailed level, which is why its taking so long. They have been looking for beta testers in their model use

I can't take credit for them, just examples. I was hoping someone has started some work, but its pretty scattered. There was a few discontinued C&C mods out there. Presumably because people realized it took too long.

Oh well, just thought I'd ask. I'll still poke around see what I can come up with as a proof of concept. I'd probably have better luck with pinging the armies of azeroth people and getting Warcraft 1 and 2 remade. I'll start a new thread with whoever is interested in helping do that once that mod is released.

What's the cybrosX campaigns? First and foremost, you need a mod. At the very least, to get the units from the original. No UI changes yet, but eventually, when someone figures out how to make them. Here's what I was thinking in phases:

Phase 1 - Mod contains GDI and Nod units and buildings. This would use existing Starcraft2 units that are duplicated to serve the purposes we need. Which means, yes, the Marine, the Siege Tank, and the Wraith are going to be copied a lot and model/stats/abilities changed, lol. Buildings would also need to be respectively changed. Existing Starcraft 2 assets can be used as needed, but there honestly won't be many. You would need to build them custom. I know a few exist already out there like: Marines

Example ( This is the mod from this image, but doesn't look like they've published anything yet :( http://www.moddb.com/mods/geistkrieg-a-shadow-over-egypt)

Phase 2 - Build campaign out, modeling after original, improving as needed. Improvements I would say should be minimal, but generally it should be a 1 to 1 remake in HD.

Phase 3 - Create the custom Command & Conquer side UI. I would say this would be extremely difficult but not impossible. I've seen you can do just about any customization with the editor.

Phase 4 - Polish up stage/BETA/TESTING. Including adding original cinematics.

posted a message on Command & Conquer Remake in HD Mod

I've been thinking - Starcraft 2 would be a great place to create a mod for building maps in Command & Conquer style. In fact, I think it would be worthwhile to see if a mod can be created to actually remake the entire Command & Conquer Tiberian Dawn campaign in HD. I've only found very small snippets of users attempting to accomplish this, but nothing actually complete.

Does anyone have any leads on who may be working on this? Is anyone interested in this?

Please keep in mind this is just a suggestion/request, I have actually no idea how to build Command & Conquer with its UI in Starcraft 2 :)

Bump. Anyone else see this? Others have reported this as well. Is this something Blizzard did with a patch in the last month or so?

posted a message on Escape Menu Not Working?

Open question to anyone...I've seen a weird "bug" in recent weeks that I thought was related to me testing skipping cutscenes but i've now seen it on old maps where I haven't updated anything, so its making me think its something Blizzard did with a recent patch.

When in the game, pressing the ESCAPE key will no longer bring me to the menu, only pressing F10 will bring me to the menu. However, when in cutscenes, I can press escape to get the menu there. When skipping cutscenes, you can press ESCAPE once to fade out to skip it but you can also press it again to open the menu.

Has anyone else seen this? Is this just me? I've seen it on both a PC and a MAC, so I don't think its client specific. You can also manually assign opening a menu hotkey in the game to ESCAPE, which works, but then the skip cutscene function doesn't work, so that can't be the solution.

posted a message on StarCraft 2: Redux

    @Operative7646: Go

    Interesting idea!

However - I would recommend not creating separate projects for each map...it will lead to spam and getting the projects taken down. Please combine all asset uploads into one project.

As far as the idea I think a "B" canon version of an alternate timeline of Starcraft2 is a great idea. But there should be a clear deviation of where the timeline alters. Lets say Raynor is sitting at Joey Rays and someone from the timeline comes back and disrupts the timeline. Heck...lets say its someone from the future like Artanis, but on the brink of death, saying they never should have turned Kerrigan into a Xel'Naga...then he gives Raynor something, or sets him up for a task. Boom. Then you're free to make whatever maps you want. But I wouldn't completely dismiss canon lore...IE - Valerian isn't a bad guy, he historically hates his father from canon books and SC2, etc. But lets say in this alternate version, Artanis (or whoever/whatever) comes back to try and stop the future from happening. Sure it completely dismisses ALL of starcraft 2 and like 10 years of Blizzard story telling, lol, but its a fun idea!

Think...red alert for starcraft. Maybe in this alternate timeline Kerrigan takes control of the hybrid program and becomes 10x more powerful than she ever was. Then there is an epic battle between Duran/Kerrigan. And the Dominion and the Protoss are in the middle of it. Let the final battle be against Kerrigan as it should have been...or maybe the Overmind gets resurrected and becomes the new big bad as he was in SC1. Lots and lots of options!

But to be careful....I wouldn't carbon copy SC2 without reason to. And I wouldn't dismiss established canon lore for no reason. There should be a loophole somewhere that makes you create alternate history. Messing with time always gets people away with that :)

posted a message on Patch 3.0 Map-Maker Troubleshooter Thread

Found a great 3.0 mac editor bug! Try using one of the story mods in your map. Then open your trigger menu. Then try to save. A never-ending loop of "loading story * triggers...." occurs, but only on the mac editor. In case anyone wonders, its ONLY when you have your trigger menu open when you load dependency. Close it, and it doesn't happen. Makes a lot of sense...
