I feel obligated to point out that prior to your updating sc2mapster, I was earning .07-.16 points per day from downloads.  I have not gotta any points, or downloads, since the site was updated.

In your opinion, is it the fault of curse that something that was static for 3 years has abruptly stopped?  Or do you feel that a major swing in the community happened at the same exact time, and that curse had absolutely no influence on the outcome.

posted a message on [Monthly Test - February] Warfare 1942 by Ajax

As I had created multiple threads (The forum kept deleting them) and they all came back (Thanks superEvil), I have deleted the extra ones again; and this should be the one that reviews are posted under.

In response to the above "Dont tell me to make my game easy to understand".  I have been arguing with him about this for a while now.  I am slowly pushing him into some minor quality of life changes for new players; this is one of those games that requires you to read the instruction manual if you want to be good at it.  It is based on a complex board game; and all complex board games come with a book.  This game has a tutorial.  That said, the game play is slow enough that even though you will eventually lose (because you are a newb), you will enjoy your experience as you slowly lose; and by your 2nd game, have a better understanding.

Do try to push ideas at him for making the game easier for new players (No matter what he tells you); just dont try to remove aspects of game-play while you do it.  Ideologically, this is the game that he wants to play, not the game that he wants everyone in the world to play; so he will not dumb it down to increase player count.

(ill be jumping in to reply to reviews along the way, as I have played this map as it has been developed, and had many arguments with Ajax along the way.)

Picking up an initiative by Mozared and JayborinoPlays, I will be hosting a project every month for the community to focus it's attention and feedback towards (Thread found here: https://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/player-zone/map-review/131020-monthly-community-project-testing-continued/#posts). Anyone interested in having their project hosted should PM me, do not inquire here.

EU:  Cannot be uploaded right now, will be added later.

Battle.net: B-net search is broken for this game, like most.

Game Type: 6 player Strategy (WWII Scenario)

    Game Info

This game is a historic WWII scenario that is was inspired by the board game franchise called Axis&Allies.  Since it's creation, it has morphed into a game of it's own; to be balanced around RTS gameplay.  Players take on the role of an axis or ally power during WWII, and are on teams, accordingly.  The division of labor and resources is pretty historically accurate.  Germany has high income, Russia starts with a large army,  America and Japan are hung back and safe.  The game absolutely requires teamwork, as WWII required in real life; there is no all-star player in this game.  With a slow pace set, and kiting being impossible, the game relies more heavily on strategy and macro, than intense microing.

    Feedback

Leave feedback for the project here. Negative feedback is welcome, as well as positive feedback. Refrain from flaming. Attempt to offer solutions to problems you find. You know, good feedback -The goal of this thread.

The new thread is up, I hope everyone can find the time to participate.  It is very custom game, and multiplayer only; so it may require some planning to get a game in.  Talk to Ajax to get a party going, he has an active community.

@ Robinicus:  I feel your game got a lot of good reviews; many of them were over a page long.  It is rare for reviewers to go on about what they liked, it can be summed up with "I liked that there were multiple ways to win".  As mapmakers giving reviews, it is the intent of this initiative to find problems in maps, and to offer possible solutions.  Battle.net will give you dozens of 2 line reviews, ranging from "it blows" to a picture of Obama face-palming.

I will be posting up the next project tonight; as I will be out of town for work until the weekend.  I hope that all of you working on your RTC projects can find the time to leave a review!

posted a message on RTC contest partner (I am looking to be one)

Sadly, without a partner who actually know about melee balance, This is not a project I can do.  Having never played, I cannot create good waves, counters, ect.  I can stack a wall of siege tanks and missile turrets, that is about it.  I can create my concept, and anything unique needed, but I'd be painting with half the colors of the rainbow.

If anyone finishes their primary project and is interested in this concept, let me know.  I assume it would only take a few weeks to finish.  I am not interested in any winnings; just to make something unique.

posted a message on Vote on what you do in the Editor!

I picked "Other" because I felt no one would pick it.  Sadly, UI, AI, performance, is pretty much roped into "triggers".  And I can no longer select more than 1 option.

Next poll, allow more than 1 vote, but require that the person consider themselves an 8 or better in the category.  Unless I am the only nut who the exception would help; in which case read this!

posted a message on Mapster glitching out? I keep getting "Premium"

I was wondering about this as well.  I have had it for about 3 years now; I just assumed it was a glitch in the system 3 years ago that was never cought onto.  Are you telling me that I have been awesome for 3 years?  Should I tone it down a bit?

I am a little confused on the 'project' in the original post. I have a map in the Arcade right now that i would LOVE to hear feedback from but I do not have it listed ~here~ as a 'project'. do I need to make a thread in "Map Review" or maybe start a "Project" to be considered for this feedback? not sure~ So i'm going to just list my map here to get things stated, sorta speak. lol.
It is published in the Americas Server only.
    Name: Desert Strike Trinity

The monthly tests are set up by me; typically for freshly released projects.  This thread is used for submitting your project to the monthly testing initiative.  Currently, I have about 4 months worth of projects lined up; so if you are just looking for general feedback, in a timely manner, you can create your own thread in the map review, and see who bites.

And I'd really like to put it up for next February project testing.

Bad news is, I can't put it up here.

    Here is the reason :

Can not create new project ?

As mentioned above, I have some works lined up; and for march-april, I plan to do a RTC project every week, rather than monthly testing; since I'm sure there will be a lot of people who need feedback in a short amount of time.  Though I can add you to the list ^_^.  Hopefully by then, we will be able to create project pages again!

What you mean by genesis group chat?

Back when teams were a thing; team genesis created a skype group chat; and there have been quite a few people who came and went; some actually members of team genesis, and other just floaters.  It is quite a bit more active than the IRC chat.  I feel if the entire community was in such a group though; responses would be faster.  I will check out this application this weekend.

I think it is common for arcade multiplayer games to get less feedback on average.  It is difficult to get a game going at your leisure, and it can be difficult to write a review while playing, since you cannot pause.

That said, I feel there is a lot of good information in the reviews.  The reviews are long and address the problems found in detail, and offer solutions.  This is the goal of the initiative.
