    @ Bilxor

I stop reading the EULA when I reach this point :

YOU HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE REWARDS PROGRAM DOES NOT GUARANTY THAT YOU WILL EARN ANY POINTS. CURSE MAKES NO REPRESENTATION, WARRANTY OR GUARANTY THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE ANY POINTS THROUGH YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE REWARDS PROGRAM.

I think this has more to do with the reader than the document. Just because you're IN the rewards program doesn't mean you're going to earn points.
As with ANY other points program... we're not going to give you free points. If no one downloads your project or you don't upload one at all, you're not going to earn points. We get this all the time "why am I not earning any points" when the user doesn't even have a project. We allow you to join the program without a project so you can earn points right from the get go. It's on you to produce good quality content and advertise it so that you EARN the points.
Earning isn't the same as redeeming. If you have points, you will always get to redeem them. Under no circumstances will you be refused redemption unless there is a legal reason restricting your ability to do so.
     Hope that clears that up!

Real fast update (I just got got back from PAX South and am again so far behind its scary)

Image links - Agreed. I'll see if I can get a ticket in to add a simple "copy link" or similar button to the lightbox image that pops up. Not super high priority, so no promises but I like the idea.

PMs - Still coming. We're handling some transitional stuff in our backend right now that takes priority. Although I can't comment on the work being done, I can tell you that it's certainly priority for both you guys and us. Nothing bad, just upgrades and migrations. The frontend was only half the battle :]

Order of files - change coming soon. We're looking to implement more "community centric" features into our communities to allow more diversity. You guys fought the good fight and we've "won". This is likely going to be rolled into that update.

Post numbers/Thread Numbers - looking into it.

All I can do for now guys - THANKS FOR STAYING POSITIVE!

posted a message on [Solved] Can not create new project

I'm confused - the limits on the forums/comments aren't in anyway connected to projects. We have projects that are several hundred megabytes without issue.

Can you PM me a screenshot of the issue you're having specifically? If you're receiving an error like that while uploading a project, that's a separate issue and it's priority.

    Quote from Scbroodsc2 >>

Cool, I'm awesome. But more importantly, it's everyone that makes this community awesome, not just individuals.

Won't see an argument from me. I love this community for that reason!
Honestly, it's really more just to give you guys an ad-free experience. We don't like them in general, and believe it or not - this entire company is made up of gamers and creators. We would give it all away for free if we didn't have families to feed :D
But at least with the Premium, it was a way to offer SOMETHING, even if it's so insignificant in the scope of things to say "thanks". Also, we do like giving you guys goals to work towards.
And yea, we know that some of that doesn't quite fit in with the SC2Mapster culture. So we're revisiting a lot of that. I wish I could tell you some of the things that are on the table, but not just yet. :]

You guys are more than welcome to do this, however, it won't be official. Curse has it's own chat client/mod client called the Curse App -> curse.com

I'm working on getting something official together to co-exist with the IRC currently that will make it easier for you guys to reach us personally. Just wanted to give a heads up on this before anyone got to settled in.

For general chat and just general help with CurseForge, we already have a server here with an #sc2mapster channel: https://curse.com/invite/KaxxGazelleDanho

Unfortunately, anything outside of our ecosystem and moderation won't be official, but we more than support you guys getting together and building your own communities on any service you see fit :]

EDIT: I'm almost always available via CurseApp and that server, unless I'm sleeping. So feel free to tag me over there if you need anything :]

posted a message on Mapster glitching out? I keep getting "Premium"

So one of the devs was browsing through the forums, saw this thread and poked me about it. You lot are starting to grow on everyone here :D

We have an internal algorithm based on a whole slew of things that all together we call "popularity threshold". It's based on things like traffic, downloads, etc within a designated time period. If you qualify, you'll get complimentary premium as a way of saying "hey cool, you're awesome, and thanks for being a part of the community".

Previously, since SC2Mapster was ad supported to a certain degree, Curse Premium would remove the ads, but that's no longer a thing. However, you won't get ads on other sites that ARE still ad supported within the Curse network.

    TL;DR

You're awesome if you don't have it. Awesome if you do have it. And getting it is all about doing awesome stuff.

Small complaint.   PMs no longer have an edit button so you cannot correct silly typos anymore or expand if you have been afk.

Try now - I think I got that in for you.

posted a message on Anti-Spam Measures

The spam procedures and "learning" tools we use are always being improved and added to - you wouldn't believe the numbers of spam that comes through that you never see. It's a sickeningly large number.

The reality is, there's a handful of us and a whole world of spammers writing new tools and new bots. I think there's a movie based on an old tale about this.

    It's called 300 :D

Well I have tried uploading an SC2 map and get this message if I try to access it.

    Error

    <fieldset>

404 - File or directory not found.

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

    </fieldset>
I got this the other day - it seems we were having a load issue with one of our servers. If anyone else gets this, please PM me directly with a screenshot.
These are the kinds of things we want to nail down immediately.

posted a message on Recent Files

This is noted in our tickets - we'll have something in place soon.

The issue is that our system generally lists recent files by "game version" or "version identifier" and with SC2 the dev guys didn't know enough about the game to determine a proper sort or listing.

My gut is to just show the most recent file regardless, but please feel free to let me know otherwise. If nothing else, that would at least get something there.

Sigh, I know you intended well, but this has turned a unique, working and visually appealing, if dated website with good features for a mapmaking community into a generic whitewashed curse advertisement that highlights thing that don't need to be highlighted, be they the most popular things already (Mass recall...) or just ancient and broken (6 year old mass recall).

I do appreciate the effort, its just that nostalgia in this case is stronger then I expected.

It's not about "meaning" well. It's about keeping the data safe, providing faster and more efficient tools, and a codebase we can work on.
What you guys don't see is the backend that was a spaghetti monster of awful. With holes and insecurities that have been patched over and time and time again. A system that relied too heavily on too many moving parts that had too many hands on it. If something broke, it would take hours if not days to narrow down and repair as we saw with other communities running the legacy software.
The business will move without us, us being SC2Mapster as I proudly include myself, and I'd rather bring SC2Mapster along as rough and tough as it might be than see it die. For us to maintain SC2Mapster, it has to be maintainable. Now it is, and we can focus on trickling back in the features and appeal you guys want.
I'm fighting the good fight, I've slipped in a few tickets and am fighting to push them to the top. A few I'm sure you guys will be happy about :] Keep creating and making this community awesome, and I'll keep working to get whatever I can to you guys.

    Nope. Still only 5 max.

    5 max

Also, if it is possible and not to much trouble please return all the PMs. Have many custom model there and guide on how to which are very important.

    Thank you.

Drats! Foiled again! Okay well I'll be in the office tomorrow and I'll bust some heads about it then. Was hoping I could sneak it in :]
PMs are in the ticket list for the next few weeks - that's a big job because we're doing it for all of the recently migrated communities.

posted a message on SC2 Mapster Upgrade Discussion Thread

We've started pushing fixes for the smaller things this week, and I've got a few more tickets in that I'd like to see get fixed before I make an official post - but a couple of them that were super easy to fix were YouTube video embeds now work and I've upped the attachment limit up to a super high number so that should allow you guys to post attachments on the forums again.

I think the global 5mb limit per file is still in place, but at least now you can post images (if someone can confirm for me that would be great).

We came in and hit the ground running, but we had to get through a lot of the back end bugs and unseen issues first. Starting to make our way to the front end fixes.

I haven't forgotten about you guys :D I've just been incredibly busy.

Edit: I'm looking into the max count per post - that's silly and I'm pretty sure the developers agree. So I'll see if I can get that eliminated or set to a number that makes much more sense.

Edit 2: I think I just snuck in an update to the config that doubled the amount of attachments from 5 to 10 - for now. Let me know if that worked :]
