Final LP of the RTC Top 10 is Sheep Tag Rivals by Basis and co-authored by Necromoni:

It seems to basically be a Warcraft version of Cat & Mouse, or Cat vs Mouse, or Pobes vs Zealots, or whatever it is called nowadays. Very well polished, very self explanatory, pretty much anyone can pick it up and play it at a semi-competent level. It does however suffer from massive unit lag, a result of free to build farms, and being caught up with a sheep for a good long while but my wolf not swinging was also rage worthy. That aside, about the cleanest Cat & Mouse game I've ever seen.

And that ends my spamming the Map Feedback page with updates every 2-3 hours, my apologies for that. Was aiming to get all of these out there to encourage others to check them out, honor those who put all the time and effort in.

Going back to less videos per day and mostly by request for the time being, please let me know if you'd like me to blindly fumble about and try to figure your creation out :)

posted a message on Do you map edit or mod other games?

Seems most answers are what games did you edit/mod, not currently, so guess I'll follow suit:

    1. Trade Wars(BBS game)
    2. Land of Devastation(BBS Game)
    3. Doom 2
    4. Red Alert
    5. Warcraft 2
    6. Brood Wars
    7. Quake 1
    8. Quake 2
    9. Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty (That's right, I STILL haven't gotten HoTS, and I never will!)

Technically I mod SC2 some still, but find it difficult to find the time, or know what aspect of my project that has grown far out of control to focus on.

Next up in no particular order at all is Reach & Breach by Ulciscor:

It appears to be a hybrid of Tower Defense, Income Wars, and Tug of War as far as I can tell. No glaring issues, all seems pretty well balanced, and there is a LOT of options on how to play. My strategy of be confused most the time didn't work out for me as well as I had hoped! Definitely not a quick stomp map, as we were clueless and it still took them quite awhile to take us down. Overall I think with a few iterations this could become a highly competitive game between both sides, especially if each side had a player with a clue to help noobs out. In game help was good, besides my amazing ability to ignore it completely, but nothing to be done for that!

Next up is -Battlegrounds- by Atlas:

As far as I can tell, this game is a Warcraft version of the old Nexus Wars. Features a great UI setup, great cutscenes, and a well written dialog. The cutscenes and dialog are extremely well done, I have absolutely no complaints about them. Tutorials were quite well done too, if you can bother to read them, which I failed at time and again. Duckies and I mostly check out the story mode as we typically aren't all about the PvP. It might be a different beast all together in PvP mode.

One thing that might hurt this game is that a single alleyway seems to contain the entirety of the universe aside from cutscenes. Not that I can realistically complain about this considering my own Death TV occurs entirely in 3 arenas as well, and simplicity isn't necessarily a bad thing. But never before have I seen so many demons so very interested in a single alleyway. Also never occurred to me that the key to fighting demons was waiting for humans to glow so I can click and super size them, but that was also a thing. Again, it isn't a terrible thing, lots of games have had you fight in the same box all the time before, it is just less obvious.

Me and this game have a love/hate relationship, I swear. I still think it will do well, but it sure knows how to piss me off. Make sure your sound settings are a little LOWER than usual, this game has a few moments where it likes to explode into dramatic music. I ran into a lot more weird hiccups this time than last, like my character turning unexpectedly, the bad Doctor playing even worse as far as I can tell, and weird gold issues. But regardless, if the game can pull you in enough to stay cursing at it but still keep playing, I'd call it a good thing.

Up next is Siege! by cgsource:

I take on duckies in epic battles in Siege! As fair warning, the game is basically battleship with Warcraft Castles, so not the most epic of gameplay is going to be seen. Is more just me fumbling blindly around trying to locate duckies' buildings to little avail. It is pretty solid for what it is supposed to be, but had some surprising issues. One being the frame rate seemed to be fairly bad for staring at one castle in the woods, and the textures/doodads liked to flicker, a LOT sometimes. Still, does a great job of making battleship faster paced and with explosions.

    @TyaArcade: Go

Glad to hear, means you should really love this one :) I'd call it coincidental, but posting all 10 after all.

Next up is Nexus Fortress by TyaArcade:

A pretty fun map by Tya, with winning being more a test of survival than the usual PvP you might expect. I do exceptionally bad at it, naturally, but I think it could be fairly addictive with a little learning and strategy. No real UI or game play issues, aside from my ability to play, once again. My only complaint is ONE Zerg unit only.

Next up on my top 10 RTC list is Archers by HotDog:

I think the abilities, while basic seeming, were pretty solidly made as well, and the UI and help section really set this one apart. What would have ensured it's victory though is the inclusion of the Everquest Ranger class though, with the power of corpse gating and being able to die tripping over a pebble!

Next up on my top 10 RTC list is Dwarven Combat by Pirate or greythepirate:

Not a bad little click and smash, but not overly popular for hosting either. Kind of odd considering how easy to learn and play this one was, well besides the mines part. I still don't get how I used those!

Next up on my top 10 RTC list in no particular order is EscortShip by Reelie.

Now I know I'm not like the most uber or l77t of Starcraft 2 player, but the difficulty curve seemed steep. Like trying to claw your way up a cliff with a spoon, steep. I like the concept and feel of it, until the screen is filled with nothing but monsters after a brief 20-30 seconds of enjoying the scenery. I would have liked it a lot better if it started with far less over a few minutes to help get you acclimated to the controls, know what was going on better. Still, this didn't stop me from trying repeatedly!

posted a message on Want to see someone else play your Map/Mod?

So taking a short break from the norm to play all 10 of the top 10 RTC entries. I'll be trying to post all 10 of those over the next few days. First up was Doodad Hunt 2, by Bounty, with Bounty, (insert paper towel joke here)

Over all got some pretty good footage compared to last time, looks like Bounty spared no effort in polishing this as best he could. More to come shortly in the future.

If you haven't seen the official page yet, be sure to check out RTC Top 10. They wanted to make sure to get plenty of plays, so they are actually giving prizes for playing any amount of the maps, as long as you vote after playing. My main assumption is they will check your game history for this week.

    @EivindL: Go

Agreed, I am on the dislike WC side of the fence for the most part. Besides Warcraft 1, I actually really liked that one. Is one of the large reasons I chose not to enter this time, I didn't want to pretend my map had anything to do with WC, as it really didn't.

However, all that aside, a big congrats to those in our community who made it into the top 10, like greythepirate, Bounty, and Keudeugi! Please show your support by taking the time to investigate the maps a bit, vote as you see fit :) I certainly plan to.
