All I want to do is switch the animation for movement from "walk" to "run" on my WoW model but I'm looking EVERYWHERE in the actor events and a event that makes the "walk" animation in the first place is nowhere to be found.... I'm using a duplicated zergling actor.
Why is it so difficult to merely replace one animation with another... plz help!
I can see my imported model in the import manager just fine but once i actually apply it to an actor I get the fucking checkerboard... I have gotten this model to work perfectly fine once but I forgot to save the map. Why is this thing so fucking picky...
Here's a list of key features and goals for this project:
- Make the player forget they're playing Starcraft II by including custom GUI from myself along with recycled graphics, sound, music and more from WoW and Warcraft III.
- Instead of picking a class at the start of the game, you will select skills, and physical upgrades to customize your own class or build. So once you reach a certain level, the game will determine what kind of class you are and give you an "ultimate ability". For example if you pick mostly strength and melee skills and upgrades, you will be given a warrior ability which may be called Berserk which will change your troll's model temporarily into the big and muscular ice troll model from WoW.
- Randomly generated world (uniqueness of maps will improve as patches are released.)
- Random bosses or features will be generated before the game begins. One game you might find a wandering wholly Rino on the island with the most abundant resources, other games may have a more primitive species controlled by a custom AI that has a tribe of their own.
That's all I can think of for now! I'll try releasing a short gameplay demo as soon as I can.
/facepalm
I don't know what this means, but when i try building my custom unit Starcraft II crashes and I get this vague error:
"Core: generic object creation error"
I thought "ok maybe the patches screwed everything up." so i made another unit with the same behaviors, abilities, and actors from scratch and guess what? I get the same error.
Anyone know what's wrong and if there is a way I can pinpoint the cause of the crash? because I'm really starting to miss the Warcraft III editor... I won't be able to progress with a list of 100 bugs I need to fix...
I went into Dark Templar model and its assigned as DarkTemplar.m3 while there are 2 other models in the same folder called DarkTemplar_00.m3 and
Dark Templar_01.m3. From what I can see I guess the model without the 00 and 01 is the model that's used to set the variations or something...? i have no idea...
Sure it's a cool idea, I'm sure lots of people have also thought of creating the same kind of mod.
However, the question is... can and are you willing to get this massive project done within a year? the thing about these massive total conversion projects is that they're all vaporware. just take Heart of Storms for example, better yet look at Project Revolution, that was a WC3 to SC total conversion and it barely got done, i had to step in to give the mod some light
Im importing WoW models and this editor is crashing like crazy. im progressing with my project but i have to save all the time. I didnt have any problems with this on my Windows 7 laptop since i moved to my faster desktop Vista machine.
Someone suggested it a couple weeks ago so it's finally time i unveil my project that's been in the works since December.
This game will play very similarly to the original Warcraft III map Ice Trolls by Kyxoan and Xel'Naga.
So far the core engine is complete, hunger, heat and energy system is finished, inventory system is done as well as constructing buildings and cooking items. I'm getting close to the final stages of development. Ill keep you guys posted in this thread. happy modding!

My unit needs a 4th energy bar, is this possible to create? My hero needs Life, Shields, Energy, and a new bar.

ugh... random models cause the editor to crash. they appear fine in the previewer but once placed in the map the editor locks up then finally crashes.

I need to change one of the textures for a tree doodad but I can't find the texture file anywhere for the "Haven Tree" model.
