With the upgrade, many people have been dissatisfied with the new color scheme. For those I have decided to create a custom style for the website that aims to recreate the old look and feel of the site. You will need to install the Stylish extension available for both Firefox and Chrome, and then visit the site below and install the custom style.
It is still a Work in Progress and I will keep updating it. Please let me know of bugs that you may find.
I can somewhat relate to this sentiment, but unfortunately we don't have any plans to change this currently. I did read that someone was working on a script or plugin, and that might be something we "unofficially" point to for now
FYI, I am working on a custom stylesheet to have old maapsters look and feel for those who care. You will need to install the Stylish extension on chrome or firefox, and the visit this site: https://userstyles.org/styles/136746/sc2-mapster-old-school
Its still a wip and its mostly just a color scheme change, not a major overhaul.
WHat I mostly miss is the current event box on the main page and not having the news on a different page, specially since most news were community oriented. I feel the current layout favors more showcasing than engaging.
Aside from that Im happy the upgrade took place. Forums behave now as they should.
There is a news announcement, but for those that dont read the main page for some reason (or missed the news over curse giving us some great news at last), the all doodads project has been updated by Scbroodsc2. The website also got some update in its search function, allowing for multiple search terms and saving them as pseudo permanent urls that are easy to share and use for your terraining projects and mashups. You can see them in action below:
We got a new update with new fixes and awesome and amazing features! Below you can find all the new stuff!
v2.0.1504
1-2, 1-8: AI has recovered from the shock of jumping into a major release and decided to attack the player once more rather than stand motionless
1-5: Remember there were supposed to be ghosts there? Now if you squint your eyes you may find them resting in their tubes.
2-7: Fixed subtitles not showing during the opening cutscene, and with this we have released the best update in the entirety of the project. Feel free to name your babies after the team, erect a statue in our honor and nominate us for the Nobel prize. Oh! And send fat stacks of money too, please!
Much as I love it, I think there is too much detail for a small unit - consider an unit uses like maybe less than 2% of the screen state and try to account detail for that. The ummm, texture on the fins or whatever and part of the front hull thing will onyl cause visual noise i feel.

Seems to me they scrapped the left 2 die map and went for miner evacuation instead.

The blue to green is basically half global lighting, hall water falloff settings. The red in the shore is just some well placed red omnilights.
