Welcome to SC2Mapster! It's always great to have new mapsters. I'll be eager to see how your Time's Square turns out. It sounds like something that could be done fairly well with the Korhal assets.
It's really quite amazing to see just how long it's been, and how it's still going strong. I'd love to try to make something for this, but I'm not certain if I'll be able to given my current workload.
I know that teams are able to have their own forums on SC2Mapster. It may well be possible for you to submit your Warcraft mod as a project, and then create a forum on the project page.
Yes, but if he wants just a simple setup where it looks lit up in one area and dark in another, then this is an easy solution that, while not perfect, may well be good enough.
The best you can do is dynamically change lighting for specific human players based on their current centre of view.
Last I checked, this feature was not available. That said, I have no checked in a while and may well be wrong about that.
As for how to do this, it can simply be done using lighting regions. In the brushes section of the terrain editor, you can paint two different lighting regions, and then in the lighting section, turn down the ambient and diffuse settings for the region that you wish the be night.
Overall, I would say this is a very well made film. The terrain was quite good. My only real critique about that would be that the lighting didn't feel particularly special. There are some parts in which the lighting could have been improved to fit the mood, in my opinion, such as the initial shots in the city, and the shot inside the room with the sniper. Perhaps darkening the ambient light could have helped.
One more thing which I can't quite put my finger on are the transitions between the different shots. They just feel a bit stiff to me in some cases.
All that aside, I think this is a fantastic cinematic, and I think you should definitely make more. :)
I figured I'd try giving this one a go. It didn't turn out quite as macro as I was originally going for, but oh well. I also really wish that I had made this terrain facing the opposite direction, because most of the skyboxes I have found look significantly better from that angle, as does the water. Oh well. If anyone here knows an easy way to mirror everything on the map, then I would be more than willing to update this.
Part of the issue is that even when threads are deleted, they still appear under the "Last Post" section. The best solution would be to fix the website such that that is not a problem, but we all know that isn't going to happen.

This sounds like it could be a good one.

I would love to see if you ever make another of those compilation videos. As for your terrain, I'm going to need to go for WTE 164: Blue.

Perhaps you are thinking of Tyrande's blood elf skin?

No, unfortunately that flag does nothing about fog. It says "fog," but actually means fog of war, which is something entirely different.

If only it were that simple. The issue with that is that the actor would be affected by the fog.

Well, this certainly is not like any other terrains I've seen before.

Let me just save that URL for future reposting...
