It's a quite a shame to see the terrain forums so inactive. Perhaps moving on to a new topic will help revitalize people. Maybe we've just spent too long on the same topic.
I'd personally rather not jump to conclusions about how this will compare to other editors, like the Galaxy Editor. While what we have seen is pretty good so far, I have my doubts as to how well this editor will handle other game types than the traditional MOBA. We've just not seen enough of the editor or its capabilities so far.
There are many aspects of Warcraft 3 that could be improved upon by being made in the Starcraft 2 engine, notably graphics and pathing. Besides, why not remake Warcraft 3's campaign? It could be a fun little hobby (okay, perhaps not so small), even if it is a lot of work. If they enjoy it, then it's their choice whether or not they want to carry through with it.
It is not very secure. A map can be unlocked by changing its .s2ma format to .SC2MAP and adding in the components file, though it does not store GUI triggers, only the raw galaxy needed to run the map.
Perhaps you could try painting the steeper parts of the terrain with a rock texture, or even using rock doodads? The terrain just looks a bit awkward with the texture on the steep parts being the same as the rest of the terrain.
My general advice would be to use one of the noisier brushes (last 2) to build up a rough cone, getting steeper towards the center and shallower towards the edges, then paint snow or grass or whatever you want on the flatter parts of it and rock on the steeper parts. From my experimentation, this generally works out quite well.

Great work on your models. Lothar turned out really well, in my opinion. If it's anything like your other models, Medivh should turn out amazing.

Looks very similar to Civilization 5, though that might not necessarily be a bad thing to some people.

This should work.

GAx3 contains support for creating beams between points and/or attachment points for actors, among other functions.
Here is a link to the mod.

I don't believe I spot a single rock in your terrain. I am very disappointed.

So... about that...

I'd personally recommend making them lower. They just look completely unnatural at that height.

Interesting. I'd prefer to wait for some screenshots with max settings to really make a say on it though.

Yeah. As it turns out, I had forgotten to rescale all of the cars, so some did look out of place. Anyway, here's another update to my terrain.
Edit: And another update.

Perhaps it may be a good idea to add the recent contest somewhere on this thread?
