    Then the ratingcounter should be enough for you, because you can extrapolate.

    I really want to know hoch much ppl played my map in the time since the last update, and if the update results in in- or decreasing plays per day.

    This combined with a history would become a very handy tool for some mappers. Most ppl are not rating (i think 49 out of 50 never rate maps no matter how often they play it) the maps they play.

    Also how steep your maps learning-curve is (how long/how much trys do people need to win?) or how addictive over time your map is (ppl play it just a few times? Or in the beginning MUCH times then slowly (or fast?) decreasing? And if your map has a core-community of players that play your map regulary and often?).

    All this infomations can, if well interpreted and analyzed, lead to a very good quality of your map and, in consequence, lead to a way better gaming-experience for every starcraft-fan.

    SC2 is not a game with a 100-ppl community, its a big thing, and as a map developer i feel a little bit left out...

    Collecting and displaying way more data related to maps would be awesome for the devs... If Blizz is going to implment such features, it would improve the Arcarde-Section massively (i 100% agree with SoulFilcher). It should work like a 'Google-Analytics' for Map-Makers.

    I agree, single player mode is a bit OP, but dont forget this is a multiplayer-team-play map, try it with 3/5 players and u will see, from wave 13 its way too easy and needs to get little bit harder...

    But this are tweaks that have to be done after i finish the rest (towers, terrain, triggers etc.) of the map. Unfortunately im not the owner of the original map, so i have to recreate the whole thing.

    ROFL cant believe this... wanna slap the developers of this editor!

    The problem was, the destroy event was linked to the old damage/create persistent effect in serveral places, but in some actors it was correctly set to the copied content...

    posted a message on [Solved] Tower with beam attack never stops beam

    I made a custom tower for my tower defense map...

    I want to reuse the attack beam of the sentry unit... So i started creating a new tower as usual (copy photon cannon, change models, tweak stats/cost/etc.) Removed Photon weapon + turret Added Auto-Turret as turret.

    Copied Disruption Beam from Sentry and attached it to my tower.

    And now its going to be crazy:

    If i attach the ORIGINAL sentry beam to my tower, it acts like this:

    As u can see, there is only ONE beam for ONE tower at the same time! This is the required behaviour of the beam!

    BUT!

    If i COPY the original Beam (just COPY, dont modify ANYthing), and attach it to my tower as weapon, it acts crazy like this:

    What is the problem here? I didnt modify anything, so it should work as expected, what have i done wrong?

    The Map already exists, u can see it log in to bnet, start sc2, klick on arcade, search for "Mafarazzo" and thats it. U can watch this video instead (lang shouldnt matter):

    Time is not relevant, as long as it gets done anytime and progress is noticeable.

    I Contacted the original creator of the Map, but since now he didnt gave me the source. (see also: http://www.sc2mapster.com/forums/player-zone/map-feedback/54794-mafarazzo-tower-defense/)

    Earlier i decided to recreate the complete Map incl. original Balancing, because it seemed that the creator is not available, but he recently sent me a pm, maybe he will give me the original map-source, idk.

    Im a complete noob with Sc2 Editor as well as Mapping itself, i never ever created a map in any game... (but im a professional software-developer, so triggers f.e. are very familiar/easy-to-use for me)

    Hey, im making a remake of the map "Mafarazzo TD" for Sc2 (Arcarde-Map, Tower Defense). I really need help of a pro here, the map editor is too crazy for me...

    I started remaking the map, i completed all triggers, made the terrain, the first 4 waves, the machine tower, the blend tower (incl upgradeability) and the builder...

    Im really struggling with the rest of the towers, and thus i need a real professional, who can advice me personally (skype/teamviewer) how to do the job.

    Although i think there are no more experienced modders active since 2 yrs i hope that someone with a good level of experience will help me with this map.

    Im working on this map since a week, 8h a day, 6h of them i am reading tutorials, BUT, all the tutorials are outdated, they are older than 1-2 years, it seems that the complete community of sc2 died around 06/2012... sad, but true.

    @Beam, I copied the beam directly from preexistant content, i never have seen a Sentry ingame, thats firing forever at multiple targets xD... Also there ist already a destroy entry: http://i.imgur.com/hkgwcuo.png idk what is going wrong here...

    @Splash, this is okay? What "measuring unit" is meant with "Radius of 4" (marked with blue suqare), pixel? inch? cm? miles? lightyears? (i hate the lack of naming measuring units -.-) http://i.imgur.com/k2tEpJX.png

    @Apply slow please refer to a clear and up-to-date description/tutorial or describe it to the detail, just saying 'u need to apply behavior with slow' doesnt help me, also please consider that i said i want to re-use the slowing ability of the roaches from HotS-Campaign :), u can give me new advice within this context.

    I Want to make exactly the same Tower as you can see in this video (i linked to the interesting time): Because i want to build a remake of this map.

    What i tried:

    Duplicated Photon Cannon, Renamed all Copied content:

    • Applied the Model "Artifact1" to all related entries
    • Removed "Power User"
    • Removed the Turret and The Weapon
    • Removed The Strong & Weak Arrays
    • Removed the Description
    • Removed Shield
    • Removed Armored Status
    • Added "Invulnerable" Flag
    • Set "Cost" to 200 Minerals

    Duplicated the Weapon "Disruption Beam" from Sentry and attached it to the tower

    • Set the Range to 9
    • Removed "Same Cliff Level" for the Damage Effect (+ Aquire Cliff Level Range to -4,4)
    • Set "Combat: Amount" to 1

    My first Problem:

    The Beam is never stopping, and if a new target is aquired, the tower launches a new never stopping beam:

    How to Apply slow and splash?

    I tried it with the Marauder Slow Effect, but i figured out, that the slow effect of the Roach fits better in my needs (Making 3 Slow Towers with 3 levels of slowing), but i dont know how to apply it :(.

    Also i dont know how to apply a splash-effect to the Tower.

    Please dont refer to any wikis, this wouldnt help me, please try to explain. If you are an experienced mapper, i would be happy if you help me with this map via TeamViewer/Skype :).

    I restarted, making a new Tower, just copied the Photon Cannon, applied Auto-Turret Model/Turret/Weapon. That works, now i only have to fine-tune damage, radius etc.

    I already watched and read tutorials, but ALL of them are older than at least 1 year, the edtor has completely changed since then... i feel lost.

    EDIT I changed the basic 'blink' to 'zeratul blink' it seems there is no requirement deeply hidden in the mysterious deepness of the editor preventing my builder from using it. Additionally i changed the effect to the HyperionBlink effect to be able to make the range/pathfinding working fine.

    The last problem is with the auto-turret, i still cant place it with my builder although everything is setted up correctly -.-

    Hey, im struggling with the data editor since DAYS, its horrible... I wasnt able to design ONE satisfying tower.

    Can someone tell me whats the best pre-existing tower to start from making custom towers? Can you link any Video-Tutorials or Text-Tutorials for this (making towers fpr tower defense maps)?

    Im making a remake of "Mafarazzo Tower defense". Map is fine, Triggers are fine, but now im hanging in the Data Editor.

    1.) Builder Blink Ability

    I want to make the builder to be able to blink (teleport), i set up the button, added the ability (copied the original), but ingame the button is hidden, why? Do i have to remove tech-requirements? If yes, where?

    2.) Build Auto-Turret as Tower

    I want to use the auto-turret as buildable tower, but when i copy it, copy the button, add it to the build ability of my builder etc. the button is still not visible ingame, can someone tell me why and how to make the button visible?

    3.) Make Slow Tower

    The Slow Tower should shot one enemy, and as long as this enemy is alive, slowing the enemy AND all nearby enemies plus making 1 dmg per second, how can i achieve this effect?

    4.) Bunker as Tower

    I tried to use the Bunker as a Tower, but in the original game there have to reside units inside to make it fire, how can i just make it fire itself (the bunker) without any units inside?
