My apologies on practically falling off the face of the planet for roughly a year and a half. Has anyone played this map? Thoughts? Also, run into any problems?
Thanks for the reply! Currently I have gotten a reply from another member in regards to his project. When I find out how much work he needs me to help with, I will know whether or not I can help you with your project. If I can, I would be able to help with projectiles
I made a map about a year and a half ago that should still be on the servers called "Verdant Fray". It has a Capture the Flag based gameplay with periodic flooding that players need to avoid :)
I'm looking for a team that has ambitious ideas for the maps they want to create. I have plenty of experience in the data editor and trigger editor that I can become a valuable asset to your team. So to further elaborate on my experience, let me explain the map I was working on.
My map had no title as I was working deep within the data editor and was still a work in progress. The idea was to have 5 classes (Mage, Hunter, Warrior, Medic, Rogue). Each class was given 5 abilities. I pretty much finished all the abilities, so I know all there is to know about Effects, Behaviors, Actors, etc. I hadn't gotten as far as to what type of game I was going to make my map, I've simply been working on the classes. Once I realized how big the project was for a single person, I figure I could lend my expertise to a team for more realistic goals.
As for my experience in triggers, the first map that I published and it currently on the NA/EU servers was a map I created back when Blizzard held its map-making contest when SC2 first released. The map was a complex melee-based game that incorporated natural environment hazards that teams had to avoid in order to survive (night & day, flooding, bushes). The object of the game was to capture as many of the 5 bases as possible to be the first team to reach a score of 5,000. So as for a triggers, I have probably 200+ hours experience with the,.
It may or may not be worth 60 bucks. That is debatable. What is not up for debate is the easily forgotten legacy that D3 will have. This is no D2. This is not the same Blizzard. Activision has came, seen, and conquered.
I couldn't agree more. Every since Blizzard became "Activision-Blizzard", things haven't been the same
Thank you lol. It's been a long time since I last touched my map and I will be very happy when it's complete. It's a large work in progress.
I too picked up Diablo 3. It's a fun game with great graphics, story, voice acting and gameplay. Though, having been in development for 11 years, it felt like the game was lacking in certain areas.
Although, I've hit a snag and my originally mentioned timeline has been delayed indefinitely. So I'll most likely get this post deleted and create a new one at the appropriate time with more information as you pointed out. Thanks for the tip btw! :)
I'm trying to use this setup for creating multi-level abilities but am having some difficulties getting it to work. I downloaded the map that was attached earlier in this thread to try and follow along the Hunt ability to try and get my abilities to work in the same manner. However, like I said, it's not working and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. This is what I've done so far:
1. Created 4 Behaviors
2. Created 4 Effects (Each linking to the respective Behavior)
3. Created Ability Button and Train Ability Button
4. Created Ability - Added the 4 effects
5. Created Train Ability
6. Added Abilities to a Unit
7. Added Ability Buttons to Command Card
The question I do have about the Training Ability, within the learn info, what are the Links for each level refering to? (Abil/Hunt1, Abil/Hunt2, Abil/Hunt3, Abil/Hunt4)
So as far as I can tell, I've set everything up properly. The actual ability (level 1) is usable, however, the Train Ability button is greyed out.
I've attached the map I was testing this all in. Changing the Data source to the map will show all the work I've done thus far. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
I'm trying to run an IF-THEN-ELSE action that checks if a unit's ability is disabled. By 'disabled', I mean that the ability cannot be used yet until the player upgrades/researches it. Anyone have any ideas on how to pull this off?

Whoops, I thought deleting the first post would delete the entire thread. I no longer need this thread. It can be deleted by the admins

Very interesting, I will certainly give it a try, thanks!

Hi all,
Is there anyway to change the casting time of an ability through upgrades?

Also, I have to add that I am EXTREMELY happy that Blizzard is adding "chance" modification to the upgrades in Patch 1.3 :D
