posted a message on Remove the cloaked effect

    Hello,

I'd like a way to remove the cloak blue semi-transparent effect on some cloaked units (but not all, only on one kind of units).

Or to allow my energy leech to target invulnerable units if it is possible. As a cloaked undetectable unit is all what I found to have an invulnerable unit targettable by some abilities.

posted a message on [REVIEW] Nova Covert Ops

So you reproach me to overrate a bit, but you say nothing to the author of this topic who rates 1,5 this third pack ? My rating is more fair than his, I note the fun I had playing it mainly. If I would rate 1,5 for me it means that I don't even finish the first mission beeing bored to death. But of course the author of this topic played the whole pack and rate 1,5 because it is not worth playing it but he played it entirely... Nothing to add here I think to put in evidence the unfair part of the 1,5 rating.

Give your opinion if you want, let mine in peace, thanks. Or do you want to explain me that I had not 5/5 fun playing it maybe ?

You can think what you want, but if you want to take in account my rating, I have rated the third Nova pack 5/5, not only his story.

I find this third pack as good as the two others, and Blizzard has probably taken in account to make it longer. Your notation seems totally not justified to me. I have particularly appreciated the cinematics : this kind of content can't be found in any arcade map. Anyway you review is too long for so few to say in my opinion (no offense, maybe you just can't resume more in english). So I don't even understand what you find bad.

For me, still the Blizzard quality for the models, or the mechanics and even the story. Even if about the story, I can understand that it disappoints many people beeing out of the main stream or something like that. But in my opinion, most of Blizzard content is very conventional to please to most players, so this story pleases me to be unconventional too. Some parts are naive though but some are very good too.

    I had a good time : 5/5

Just sad if Blizzard stops working on SC 2 =(

posted a message on [Ask] How much AI is too much AI?

It depends on the strength of the player I think. If he has custom and powerfull units, or other advantages.

You could too change the difficulty of the AI instead of the number of AI.

posted a message on Why no "New MAPSTER Website" PR?

I only refer to a message from Curse long ago, saying that they plan to redo sc2mapster but they said too that it is not a priority.

Not sure to have really understood Houndofbaskerville here though.

Yes, new website in 2042, be prepared.

Kiding, but it may take a long time if I remember well the discussion months ago.

    Yes seems OK now, thanks.

Sorry for spamming this topic, quite hard to post on an unvisible topic ^^

Or I should have looked for it, if it was just hidden more far.

I think that the topic "Monetizing Starcraft" or something like that has been deleted by mistake with the spams.

Yes, and it is a good step. But this is a step for Graphic guys (or maybe a single one), not for map makers.

We have already bought SC 2, and the servers come with it for the maps of arcade I think. Soon you will say that we have to pay Blizzard developpers to work on the editor xD

posted a message on [Help Needed] How to Create Helper Indicator?

    Hello,

You can do the same with the trigger action :

Actor - Create actor model Briefing Unit Select at point (...)

So using the models Briefing Unit Select (Terran) probably.

posted a message on Change CD of the ability of an item

I want to prevent the use of an item if it targets a certain area of the map.

But I think that FunkyUserName has given me the only way to do it : putting dummy units, and checking the number of dummy units close in a validator. Which is bad because unaccurate mainly, but it does the job ^^

posted a message on Change CD of the ability of an item

Thanks Demtrod, but it is the ability of an item. So if I did nothing wrong during my tests, the ability of the item doesn't trigger the event "ability used" in a trigger. So I can't stop it before to be fully done. If I use the event "item used", the ability is fully done and can't be stopped.

So I tried to use a dummy ability, then test if I should allow the real ability (so start the real ability) if it doesn't target a certain area. But then I have troubles with the cooldown of the item, which is triggered during the dummy ability. According to my test, I can't reset the cooldown of an item : I tried to rest it indicating the item itself as an unit or the unit bearing it, without any success.

FunkyUserName, thanks for your solution. I guess that it is the only way to do it. I miss the lack of terrain texture, buildable, and several other validator possibilities. But I have to admit that there is already a big list in the validators types. Annoying to have to go with such an inelegant and unaccurate solution...
