Cool, I like that you put different vehicles in there with different stats, since GTA had such a large variety of vehicles. Seems like SC2 is a great engine for racing imo, although I wish bnet would support cursor tracking or WASD.
Cool, looks like a blast! I can't believe someone actually listened to me LOL! Maybe you could do a trigger like, event: any unit enters within range of hellion > condition: helliondriven=true > action: kill triggering unit. Anyways, I thought they said they were gonna fix WASD lag... what happened to that?
Fixed for you there. Don't fret about the whining Rev.. you're just dealing with the ADD generation here. These people don't care about how to play the game, they just want it to be really fast. WoW is the most successful game ever made and the amount of whiners it has attracted could probably populate a city.
I'm sorry but this game is PURE GENIUS! I played like 10 in a row last night, and it deserves the #1 spot. The best part is the defense where you don't know if they are lying about their role or not. Saying things like, "I investigated player X and they have weapons" while you are the killer or the mob is such a great way to trip people up, although if you guess wrong then they will probably call your bluff and lynch you. So do you keep your mouth shut, or try to confuse the sleuths with blatant lies? Kudos to you DarkRev, for such an addictive and successful game.
Looks like fun actually. It could be an arena type deal with a few matches where you and your opponent both choose a squad to face off against each other, although you wouldn't know which squad the other team had picked.. so it would be a bit like a complex version of rock, paper, scissors.
If you're going to do something on this scale, I would recommend making it a single player/offline rpg (where you can easily save), as you cannot link maps on battle.net. The average person will spend 15 minutes playing so you have to hook them in that time span. Focus on making the core combat unique, and not just SCII with one unit and a bunch of hostiles. A good storyline will help make it immersive and give it direction, as opposed to an mmo or open rpg. Anyways, best of luck!
So my issue is simple. I can get scrolling combat text to work with non-fatal damage, but the fatal blow seems to return no triggering damage amount. Is this because the dead unit no longer exists and therefore cannot have a text tag attached to it?
I would suggest starting with one map and creating all the triggers and data needed for the gameplay.. except for the monsters, which you would need to do per map if you wanted to have a variety depending on the terrain.
I suppose UI does tend to have a dependency on many of the other things. So yeah, you have a good point. Noted.
That was directed to the OP actually, just my take on things. I like a lot of the points you made in your post.. especially because I still don't understand the point of arrays.

How about vehicles that you can steal and run people over with? That would be endless amounts of fun :D

Well it works when I attach it to my character, but the death time thing didn't quite seem to work. Guess I can try to make a point variable for it.
Edit: This works but with drawbacks for multiple enemies dying at the same time. Gotta be a better way.

Here is my trigger:
I looked around but I couldn't find any decent answers so please help me out on this one.

Now you can tell us your real name and social security number. It's ok, I promise.
