    Ok i have a map idea that will require serious thought but when complete will be addictive and very competitive.

    the thought i had came from the recently created game called Civilization sapphire. it is a game where you slowly concur the land and tech through the epochs of human civilization. the game is greatly flawed and could be so much better. some of the problems he is having is that the game is not accurate to human history and he has too few of units to build. (with each epoch you get 1 new unit and no heros) LAME! but believe it or now people are eating it up! its on the top 10 or the most popular maps when you go to custom games, in sc2.

    This is where my game would be different. i want to make a civilization game where you get to have: heroes, armys, and bases. Also i want the player to be able to pick the way his civilization will develop by either picking different tech trees or picking a different race at start-up. in this mode an idea would be:: Zerg: Barbaric tribes Protoss: Mystics with Mages Terrran: Industrial people Through the techs the different civilizations would have different strengths and weaknesses. For example, the barbarian tribes will be powerful early game and have tank melee characters and a good barbarian hero, but late in the game they get overpowered by the others so they would want to expand early and stay ahead. For the mystics and mages they would be best in the mid game, so they would want to play it safe till they get their mage hero to carry them along or something. and for the industrial civilization, they would have the late game so they would be the "turtles" of the game. but they would have benefits throughout the game because of their engineering know-hows like making tribuchets. Now if we were to do it the other way and what i think would be the better way. as your civilization progress you build different buildings and at those buildings you pick one of 2 or 3 upgrades to make. like for example at the city hall you have the choice between; the ways of magic or the way of science thus causing a great turning point in your society. these are just a few ideas i have but it will be great. The biggest problem we would have in development would be the balancing issues. having that much selection and differences can cause the game to be GREAT or TERRIBLE, it all depends on the programming team who does it.

    Another thing that the game should have would be 3 or 4 resources all custom resources. the first would be tree: i have done this using the korhol tree as a skin for a mineral field, EZ. the second would be food, so i was thing that the units should hunt early in the game then develop farms that periodicly produce food. it would be cool to also put critters like cows on a short "leash" around the farm. so they would appear to graze in the farm. and third would be ore: i say we could just make a zone and use a building to look like a mine maybe the geyser but i want it to be as realistic and cool as possible. and the fourth would be maybe something like oil or some other type of ore. this one is a maybe or maybe not.

    i know this game sounds like alot and i tried making it by myself and after i finished the first few steps i realized that it will be way too much for me to handle, but once it is finished i think it would be really popular and people would enjoy the different gameplay than the norm. if you would like to contact me and get somemore ideas E-mail me at: [email protected]
