I'm either referencing anything I ever mentioned: from "hard-mode" to some theoretical typo; or I'm talking about the same post/one I replied to. Either way, it doesn't really matter, because I'm just stating that you will do what you do, regardless of how badly I want you to set all of your ice cubes on fire, or paint a portrait of Jim Raynor using only the mud in your backyard as pigment. (I may suggest things that don't have anything to do with what you want your project to be. I'm ok with you ignoring them, or shooting them down, and acknowledge that you would even if I wasn't.)

How about calling arena money Stars, and giving us all gloves? (Yugioh reference) Perhaps Fame(AF), Glory(AG), Rank(R), or Silver (Abbreviated Ag just to confuse people).

YAY! I'm amp'd up for alpha.

Moz, your power plant building looks a bit like Goldeneye, if it was in 3rd person and a bit more 22nd century, not 20th. That solar farm looks like something fresh out of Pokemon Sapphire, complete with logic holes and the fact that you can't get inside the first time you see it (I think). I look forward to seeing how they look together!

Zelda, I feel like a loss should affect my AP somehow, in some cases. Either, I lose one for any arena loss, my rank lowers or something. Wins shouldn't be the only thing to affect that money. Also, names of currency is important. Credits sound more plausible than points.. so can I earn AC? Finally, it's good to know I have an easy button!

Almaity, Grats on the anniversary, and thanks for letting me re-order my team! It's probably impossible to make it a drag'n'drop thing, eh? Maybe let the things take up more screen? I have no real idea how the map works, so I'm just throwing things out there.

None my my change suggestions are going to happen before beta at the earliest, unless they are super easy. Or, they may just be too creepy for your time. At any rate, good luck and great speed!

Ah, the Kharidian Desert. Now with randomization!

Have you tried contacting Blizzard about the For Loops, or are you waiting for a public announcement? You might get your answers quicker if they are talking to just you, not the world as a whole.

I would like to ask if hotkeys are going to be implemented for the menus. Also, if the menu bar is more important than the game world, put it on the left. If you would prefer that the players eyes rest on the main screen, leave the bar on the right. People's eyes scan from left at top, downwards, then right. At least, in the "west".

The menu bar looks quite nice.

It all makes sense now. My feedback only served to feed your obsessiveness. I am glad that the sidebar is something I never see, because the pokebuilder sounds OP as MewTwo.

Also, is there a post or page limit in threads? I could see 999 being a limit, or 64 pages, etc.

Nom Nom Nom, that's some tasty news! Should tide me over until dinner time, but then I'll start craving more. :)

Bit of feedback: in the third image I can see the UI sidebar. I think the left/right boarder to the buttons could lose some weight and give the extra real estate to the button width. (PokeBuilder is too close to the edge of it's button) Also, if you could make the whole array taller, and put a few more pixels of space between the buttons, that would make it even more polished. (also, center the text?)

Keep up the good work guys! I want to play before the winter holidays.

All this talk about grinding and game theory is academic and besides the point. No one besides the devs has any knowledge of how the game feels yet. After you play the alpha, you are then qualified to form an opinion on what feels nice or needs fixing. ZeldAity (Zelda/Almaity), I look forward to complimenting the alpha and finding bugbears.

Will evolved versions have higher base stats totals than baby versions?

    • Would that make No-Evolution starmon OP in the early game, because their total base stats are above those of "baby" or "not-yet-evolved" starmon?

If total base stats change (+, -, or move) would there be an option to "push the B button" and abort the evolution, or have the guy hold an everstone?

    • If so, when I reach lvl 100, can I force an evolution, or is the guy stuck in he first form?

When you start writing triggers for the white listing program, I want to make sure that you guys inform the people who were curious about the game why they are not allowed to play. Something along the lines of the loading screen, and an in-game message saying something like "This game is still being developed. We would be quite embarrassed if someone we didn't know played this and found a bug. Contact us at [email protected] with questions. If you are interested in the development of our game, visit our thread on sc2mapster.com!" Maybe include a shortened version of the url in there too, because www.sc2mapster.com/forums/resources/project-workplace/41336 is terribly long, especially if you include the -starmon-a-pokemon-style-map part.

I've also wondered if there will be an item which will upgrade a starmon's energy limit. even just a one time +10 energy that costs 50,000 Starcoins.

Zelda, I was totally unaware that Blizzard allowed you to publish maps with a white-list. Absolutely wonderful if you can.

I love what I'm seeing, wish I had something constructive to say!

    Quote from zeldarules28: Go

You guys won't notice any difference, except an earlier alpha date from the time we save, I suppose :P

Wouldn't even notice that. We don't have a date to compare to. :P

Tools for implementing stuff faster is almost always good.

I think I'll like the story line when it's done.

I look forward to catching Drifloon.

The dialog box looks fine for alpha, maybe look at it again during beta. Only thing I see that can be improved is the button text. You should try to open up the top lined polygon so that the text is only on that, not also partially on the metallic grey.

I like the idea of the conversation box commenting on the gamey nature of RPGs. I would offer feedback when I have a feel for the map's humor.

Thank you, Maity, for informing me on how difficult the battles would be. Sounds good, predicting outcomes and choosing what action to take. I'd also assume they are capable of pulling outmatched 'mon from the fight for a type advantage, though only once or so per feint. That could get out of hand.

I also liked the description of the story. I do feel that a recurring zany counter-wanderer is required. The type of person who always carries jelly babies and offers them to you at the least opportune moments. I may have brought it up earlier, but how would you react if someone was sitting in a pool of lava, in a wooden boat that's about to burn and he offers you a slice of devils food cake? Hanging from a cliff and offers you some candy rope?

All I have to say is that the current "series" of Doctor Who had some tasty twists, with river song and the face of boe. I also like Skyward Sword's ending bit. It was a good sad scene, her fall from godhood and that ever present impossible love story.

Just want you two to keep those IPs in mind when writing the story. How hard can that be, they are a part of your identity on this forum. I don't know what the feel of the map is though, so I can't give sharper feedback until after beta.

I have to say, that bit of terrain you showed us was epic. LoL'd literally. I almost want it to stay. Almost.

So, no limit on money? Fair enough, just thought it was worth considering. I play Hardcore occasionally, so I know what my HC friends deal with.

I would love it if beating the Champion was a challenge, even after making a team specifically to counter his/her team. Seeing as s/he will be the 5th guy with a team full of 100's that we fight.

It's basically the Pokemon on the box, you only catch one of them, only this time your game play determines which one, not what color the box is. maity, do you have any plans to restrict trading OP Starmon to a newbie account? Pokemon made it so that any pokemon above X level would disobey you, based on gym badges. Money and Items are also a possible concern. If my friend beat the game, sending me a large chunk of change could ruin the experience; or just make it different. (The limit may change for a hardcore mode?)
