Arena literally means sand in romance languages (including Latin, the language of the inventors of the arena). Sand in French is Sable. Also, it's a cute little Marten species in Asia. Fort is because I feel like thematically, with the place being completely sovereign and being a place of battle, fort seems to be a fine title.
Let's hope those bugs get in their place (squished, and out of the code) to make room for alpha!
Removing code is work. You have to make sure you didn't do anything inside the now missing code that was important, decide what's unimportant enough to be removed, and more. Simplifying to only a few types would require a rebalanced version of everything he's already implemented, as well as a lot of thinking. And you miss out on some of the feels that he's going for. (Probe-Pikachu wouldn't be an electric mouse-bot, etc.)
While having less starmon doesn't change how the game's played, it changes how long it's interesting. If you only have 15 starmon, there isn't many options of what to catch to make a team you can call your own. Reaching a new area would mean only two or three new starmon to find, instead of a dozen. Personally, as long as models aren't a problem, I'd be happy with up to 250 different little friends to find.
I wanted to ask the devs, now that Heart arcade games are all free to play, are you interested in using any HotS resources?
When one posts in a thread that has not bee posted in for months, it's called a Necro. This is because the thread is dead, no one who was a part of it checks it any more. When a magician raises people from the dead, he is called a necromancer. Necro is Latin for death. When you brought a dead thread back to life, you Necro'd it. There's your explanation. Please, let the silly old girl die.
It's also got little risk in release due to its ... lack of market competition.
Blizzard Allstars is going up against the big league MOBA's, which is probably why they're taking their sweet time developing it. TBH though, all I really want out of it are the models for custom maps. Oh well, here's to Legacy of the Void....
And then, Mojang makes a CCG called Scrolls, not to mention the Kickstared Hex is in the market, and cetera.
Personally, I can't wait until blizzard fanboys stop whining about Sc2 is better! and start saying that All-Stars improved the MOBA genre. This way, they have a direct comparative for DotA2 and LoL!
The kickstarter is really, really well done. If the game is half as good as it looks on KS, it will be amazing.
Platform games are about patience, reflexes and memorization. Mostly, though, it's about exploring a world at high speed, from art to mechanics to the bad guy.
I'm excited to read a review ad buy the finished product. I'm too poor to back anything atm.
I'm really just saying what comes to mind. If the footprints auto-fade, that's fine. I assumed that it would be easier to implement a change to the terrain, instead of an actor that expires. Or however it is they work... *shrug* still, keep the magic happening!
Well, I'm glad to get some new news! Even "boring" things like technical details of how you made your grass and doors awesome, or how you love the clicking a menu button feels is nice. Bug fixes are an important thing, and I really respect you for wanting to make a top-notch first impression.
If the windmill and trees could spin and wiggle "randomly" with actors, that would be nice. Or, if running into small trees made them shake, that would feel neat. Adding any tasty push/pull would be awesome. Is there any way actors can reshape terrain for the session in tiny increments? Leaving footprints would be neat, I could wear a path into the map! Or, have Big Bad punch the ground and make a crater? Splashes when we run through water? I dunno how hard it would be, but that's the sort of delicious polish that makes Blizzard games so neat. I don't expect that much polish in a 3 person hobby, but it's an idea.
Moz, Terrain looks nice. Make that beach beautiful!

I would be very interested in a map night for NA. At present, I do not own a copy of HotS, but I think spawning means that only one of us needs to?
