    You've got a point there...

Blizzard did make the original Warcraft III models, after all.

posted a message on Sc2 vs Wc3 Maps: What's wrong in recent maps.

I'm sure players would find their ways to make awesome maps given Starcraft 2's new systems, because it took players in Warcraft III some time to get used to the game and make maps specifically awesome for that game as well(:

I'm sure we'll see a lot of progress once players get more used to it and have experience, time is all that matters...

posted a message on This is absolutely Unbelievable!!!! PLEASE port to SC2

Actually, if games like these can be done in Warcraft III, I'm very sure it can be done in Starcraft II, just with more time and resources.

posted a message on Happy New Year!

    Happy New Year to all!

And another blessed year to Blizzard, SC2 Mapster, Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo and most likely as well, Titan!

From what I heard Blizzard would allow players to have the choice to pick maps without using the Popularity System (Or with it) in Heart of the Swarm, just like in Battle.Net 1.0, so I guess that's great news to modders.

A Warcraft RTS was also hinted by Blizzard (And it'll be made by the same elite Warcraft III producers, who are developing Titan at the moment so some of Blizzard's recent games might not have the same quality, but still awesome), so I guess Blizzard would rise again(:

Anyways, good luck to everybody and wishing all a blessed New Year!

Is there a way to post a link once it's ready so we can test it in the NA? I'd say it looks rather neat already :D

But considering the amount of time before HotS releases itself, they could be finishing on that priority list, which means that they could touch on the limit or do so in one of it's patches.

Super promising map, I'd have to admit.

Now I know what Blizzard was talking about when they said exceptional maps deserve the money.

Honestly, maps are starting to look quite good for these stuff, which I think they could deserve (If the creators wanted to, of course) the little pocket money to improve.

What I'm talking about right now would be the promising maps (To me, at least):

    SmashCraft

    MageCraft (If this continues)

As for Single Player maps, I wouldn't mind paying for a decent one, one that's fun even without multiplayer since I'd bet it'll be worthwhile.

What I think Blizzard was looking for could be in the elements of these mods, so yeah it seems rather legit to allow that for them(:

posted a message on Metal Slug [Act 2]

You have my support, I love this map even without the disc, although I'll be getting it next week(:

Anyways, hope to see even more of your awesome content and special features (Maybe some stuff similar to the 'Zombie Transformation' and such in the original), so yeah looking forward to this!

PS: Just wondering, is it possible to trigger it in a way which causes the unit being shot to like, have a brief 'white glow/tint over the unit' and back to the it's previous colour like how the original Metal Slug has? To easily tell if somebody's being hit or whatsoever, hehe just requesting...

    Agreed with Enexy and ProzaicMuze.

I'm sure Blizzard is doing that to encourage and reward their wonderful modding community for helping the game grow. Plus, nobody would be blind enough to allow a game that doesn't have potential to slip into the market, even if it's just for a small price.

So yeah, I'm sure the games accepted will be able to get accepted by a majority of the community (Notice I didn't say all because some people will just QQ).

Yep, I'd definitely support it like they do, this is a big step for modding and kind of would bring more advantages compared to disadvantages.

    As long as a game's:

    Fun to play

Simple or complex (Depending on context)

    Amazing/Amusing

    Well-accepted and played by players

Even good enough for Blizzard to accept

Then I don't see why not, heck I'll definitely pay for it, considering that great maps are still possible from what I known.

Don't get too worked up over this, Blizzard didn't say every map has to be sold, it's only meant for those extremely good ones with even more potential than the current good ones and actually worth the money (And the agreement of players into being willing to pay for it), so yeah.

And I for one see this as an improvement, it'll not really affect any way people used to make maps before, considering that it's pretty hard to reach that standard of "awesome-ness" in a map.

Plus, this is just a way to show appreciation to the player, like, putting a lot of time into one map that helps the game develop definitely deserves some money if it's good enough, even if it's barely a dollar.

I think Blizzard would get the consent from the maker first (As stated in their Terms), so yeah, it just depends on the creator mostly. Who knows, mapmaking could actually be done better with "donations" to improve it's standard and upgrade it.

Moreover, it's kind of a better incentive to allow mapmakers to continue developing good maps in Starcraft II (For example, if somebody else gives them a tempting offer), they could think twice about it and who knows, they could just stay in Starcraft II modding to continue updating it for the community for barely a dollar (One-time-payment) which benefits both the community who wishes to play on as well as Blizzard.

    It's a win-win situation if you'd ask me.

PS: By the time somebody makes an awesome map (And the creator wishes to earn profits from it), there would probably be tons of other free mods roaming about Starcraft II that could be just as fun (With creators who do it without wanting to put a price tag) and children can still continue playing.

Who knows, the creator and Blizzard could negotiate for a system which sells to players who "earns" a certain amount of points in Battle.Net 2.0 instead of using real money, with the monetary payment a better alternative (Probably because it'll be easier to get) than the "earning".

They'd probably take into consideration the amount of players playing the map as well, since this could prove a problem, but yeah they've been thinking about it for some time and we'll know when the game's out(:

And yeah, removing LAN is kind of one of the only alternatives to prevent about 40% of their profits going down the drain (Which could hinder some new stuff they might have planned in mind to improve the editor, which definitely costs money), so erm, I'm sure they're thinking of a better alternative to suit players, just that it takes time.

So I don't actually mind this too much...
