    There you go.

NOTE: I changed "Impact Unit" back to 'Caster' since that's what the tutorial was using (and the tutorial example worked), and 'Source" didn't work either.

Well it was originally set to "Caster", as per the tutorial (and it worked for him). I'll try changing it to "Source" now.

Edit: Nope, that didn't do it either. It's a Modify Unit effect that I"m using.

So I've been following OneTwoSC's Hero tutorial. In it, he creates a toggling passive ability that, when the unit takes damage, it drains energy and adds life. Simple enough. For some reason, though, the effect that would restore the damage is never activated, and the energy is never drained (which is in the Damage Response section). I've checked over and over to make sure everything is linked right, and the buff IS being applied to the unit. However, that's the end of it; the buff is applied, but never does anything. Are there some things I should be checking for that maybe I'm overlooking? I followed the tutorial to the letter and I can't get it to work (even though it worked in the tutorial).

Yes, the chance of response is 1 (100%). The Handled effect is my Healing effect, the healing effect's vital modifications are set, the cost is set, and the buff is being applied. I'm not sure what else I could be doing incorrectly. It just seems like the Damage Response never fires when the unit takes damage, even with all the "Kind" fields selected.

You should probably know that your instructions are not actually correct, in terms of linking the actor to the unit. Duplicating the actor will, as far as I can tell, permanently keep the linked unit... well, linked. No matter what I did, I could not get "Bob" (the actor) to link to "Bob" (the unit). It always stayed linked to the original Marauder. What I ended up doing was using "Add Actor" to add a GenericUnitStandard actor, then copy the field values from the Marauder (on the Add Actor or Modify Actor dialog box), and THEN link the unit as per your instructions. That worked. Maybe the editor has changed since you wrote this, but it should probably be updated.

Otherwise, a good intro tutorial for those of us who were good with the WE. The GE makes me cry a little inside.
