I can't confirm this, I just started messing around with banks.. but from what I've heard, try this:
It seems that you can only preload/open banks for reading keys (you can store when ever) at map init.. so...
At map init, preload/open the bank and put your bank keys into variables. Then use the variables for conditions and w/e later.
I suggest that you try this with some simple test-triggers first, just to see if it works.
Seems like a really cool map, i like the whole idea of it and it seems to have alot of depth. Keep adding upgrades and stuff to that the longlivity is enhanced, you can't get enough of that :)
I'll play this with my friends some evening and test it out, if it's available in EU. If it's not, make it happen! :D
Some criticism before playing, having seen the intro film:
A suggestion, change the names of two things. The map itself, and the exiled lowlands. My suggestion for the mapname is something like "Crime City", it sets the expectations of the map and makes people more interested in learning more about it and testing it. Machrium is a very generic name and doesn't say much about what type of map it is. The name of the exiled lowlands in my opinion should be shortened to something like "The Lowlands" or simply "Exile". To make it easier for new players, long names = not as memorable at first glance.
It seems like the imposters are too easy to spot, they seem to be constantly walking around (never stoping) and are they the same movespeed? They seem slower. Real players stop at shops and random spots in the map, while reading some spell or whatever.
That's my two cents. The ideas of future features (like the scripted events) are awesome.
Peace!~
I would like an overview of the Data editor, the basics. Especially how effects and behaviors work together, how you trigger behaviors with effects for abilities and attacks (weapons). I'm starting to get a hang of it but hearing someone talk about it would be really helpful and i think it could help alot of other mappers aswell.
Hey! I'm Laertessc2 here, but everyone calls me UloseTheGame!(Trololololol!) While I don't finish a whole lot of projects(and the ones that I do are Lord of the Rings maps), you'll see with time that I am very community involved, it will be nice to get to know you! Come to map night next week :D
Hey man! Damn that would be cool, but I'm on the EU servers.
I could get a NA account but.. only for mapnight? :S
The Protis Sniper should have a snipe ability ("Forum Snipe"?) that fires instantly with insane damage and infinite range, the tooltip should read "Snipes forum users before they finish their posts."
I was thinking about doing the joke aswell but then I-
I've been taking a break myself, mostly due to the fact that I'm back in school.
I can promise, however, that the release of HotS and the marketplace will inject new life into the mapping community. Current mappers will get new motivation, new mappers will be created, and the editor will be greatly improved.
Blizzard has already stated that fixing the pop system for HotS is a HUGE priority.
I didn't know this, great news to me!
This works for me regarding motivation:
My motivation comes from visualizing my map being popular and really fun to play (this comes natural to me). I can see the map before me, finished. I imagine some of the features I want in the map that would make it fun and seeing players having fun with it.. Then i get to work one step at a time.
I always have a paper (or more than one) in front of the computer with a list of small things I wanna add, also big ideas I want to implement in the future of the map. It's really rewarding picking of items of the list..
Oh :D That's good, I wish you that you will continue making whole maps, I can't finish even one melee for a while now :P So, how long do you come to SC2M? You joined right as you seen that "hey, it's a cool place, I should join!" or you have been lurking(like a lurker :p) for a while now?
Haha yeah I've been lurking for a little while, searching for some help with the editor :P I know that feeling not completing maps, I think that the most important thing is to make the map playable as soon as possible. Then it's more fun to edit it imo.
Welcome to SC2Mapster! Awesome place indeed ;)
Were you doing something specifically(triggers, terrain) in wc3?
@progammer It's meant to be whaiting, you know, SC2Mapster is waiting for some better site, but there's no better etc ;D
I did it all to some extent, whole maps you know. :-)
Hi fellow mapmakers and awesome people!!
I just joined up after coming back to mapmaking, it's been a while since I made maps.
I remember hanging out at other sites like the helper back in the days of wc3.
Now it seems that this is the most popular place for mapmakers and there is a reason for it, and that is the superb quality of this webpage and forum. The admins are really active and the community is great, everyone helps each other out. An awesome place to be.

I probably couldn't fix this, I'm sorry. I'm not pro with the Data editor yet.
If only Mephs was here, he could probably fix this in <1 minute. He is THAT pro!

Anyway, mapnight is a totally sweet idea.
