posted a message on Photon Cycles, a luminous lightbikes map

Some feedback after the (brief) testing today, feel free to disregard:

2 bugs that exist in the current version on Bnet (might have been fixed already in update): Mouse pointer can appear, and will remain in center of the screen for the duration of game. Death text window can become empty, and stays that way until game end.

    For the updated version:

The new color of the ground, while it looks cool, has such high contrast that it actually makes me kind of headache / motion-sick. Maybe tone it down a bit?

IMO, Trail decay in Slayer mode should allow just slightly longer trails, making more intricate trapping possible. Right now it seems too easy to U-turn out of everything, only favoring one ultra-aggressive playstyle.

If you can't be convinced to allow pausing game (waiting for key moments to freeze people is FUN and hilarious - potential future power-up?), it should be noted that having the pause/break key autoboot is troll-able. "Hey, u can press pause/break for an extra boost!!!", that sort of thing...

Possibly edit the death text that refers to players as "it", just sounds weird. Maybe avoid using phrases that use a him/her, I dunno. A very minor thing, but it's noticeable.

Running gag or not, I bet you'd get way more players addicted to this game (and resulting rise in popularity rankings) with a SIMPLE load-screen, maybe just the controls right in the middle. I've seen a good number of newbies quit after two rounds of "Wtf do i do, how u boost, omg wutz goin on this is gay!!11".

While you seem disdainful of "junk" like unlocks and persistent score, I think it's fun extras like that which really hook people to a game - getting to show off, or play all night with the feeling that your working towards something, regardless of how trivial. I dunno how much time and effort it takes to implement that kind of stuff (don't make maps myself), I just don't think bells and whistles should be totally shrugged off.

Speaking of which: Mario-kart style 'podium' at the end, showing 1st, 2nd, 3rd winners?

Ok, done for now. might add more later...
