    posted a message on Terrain cells problem on created tileset

    What did I do: I created new tileset, based on Shakuras, with a space platform-like tileset in mind. Changed textures, added castanar cliffs instead of Shakuras ones. Also, I added the back-skybox thing, the undermap one.

    Problem: When lowering cliffs, tiles still remain. To see skybox beneath I must manually hide all of them.

    Is there some way to hide all low cells? Through data perhaps? How Castanar tileset disables the lowest terrain cells to uncover the beautiful planets and rocks below?

    posted a message on ACTA - now in EU

    No good news here. ACTA - stands for Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement

    From what I know, it forces the ISP(internet service provider) to check the packages for illegal content and if asked, needs to give out your IP because he is made responsible for your actions. Also, it deems copied copyrighted content to, if detected, illegal and they can give you a sentence for it(a fine, prison). It basically prevents any site from doing something. Also, after ACTA kicks in, they will register all comunication between you and other people.

    So, the ACTA ruins the privacy and freedom. And it was all made in secret, by that big companies which are already blocking videos on YT for some countries.
    Eurpean parliament will vote it sometime soon; Council of European Union used a neat trick to prevent anyone from discussing it.

    Here is an article about it.

    And this one is from a year ago:

    Europe trashes ACTA as Obama praises it

    Why are they trying so hard? What, is it some achievement to fuck all the EU people?

    I know that my English isn't perfect and I suck at explaining things, so here you have the linkz which may let you understand the ACTA threat:

    @yukaboy: Go

    I think it's some sort of outside-of-GE cinematic model, so sadly, it won't be in the editor. Although there is a cut right to Raynor just a moment later... Anyway, all the lovely pictures with hyperion in space (like the ones in WoL's Hyperion 'Main mission' thingy [from where you choose next missions etc.] - loading screens) use it. I don't think Blizz will release their cinematic models, but making a unit with that looks would be indeed sweet :3

    Anyone knows the origin of that model?

    posted a message on [M] 2v2 Gleam

    Hi guys, I present to you my 2v2 map "Gleam".
    I decided to make a 2v2 map, because there is not many of them. Mainly, I was trying to leave open space everywhere I could.
    MAP IS NOT FINISHED YET, I need to lay the textures and doodad it up.

    Map specifics

    Size (playable):212x188
    Bases/per/player: 4,5 - Main, Natural, Third, Fourth +bonus goldish Exp(in middle)
    Textures: Standard Meinhoff textures + Xil cracked ground + Shakuras Hexagons
    LOSB: Around the Xel'Naga towers (3)

    Overview

    Mains have a lot of space between and behind the mineral lines. Naturals are hugged to mains, and are easily defendable, they let allies to keep together. Third is bit harder, but once taken, fourth is really easy to defend. Center bases are reserved for Zergs/LikingExpand players if they would took fourth and want more

    Changelog etc. will be posted in this post.
    That's all for now. Every feedback is appreciated and considered. : D

    posted a message on 1v1 Map, evaluation of layout level

    @yukaboy: Go

    I'm happy that it's 2v2, there are no much 2v2 melee maps. I'm making some 2v2 maps myself, and you should still as well : ) But: Map encourages all inish type of play and general 1 basing. If I would push, I would knock the rocks down, take gold as my natural, and guard with my ally the hole in the ground right outside Main's ramp. The side expansions won't be naturals because if both of us want naturals, we have to split up and when the attack comes, we are half the firepower we could have. While in center, we can be together more.

    1v1

    If you will switch them, it would be more nice, also you would have to adjust the ramps for naturals.

    If you want get more into melee mapmaking I really recommend Ironman's stream and analyzing TL's maps. I already learned few things from him ; ) Most important thing is to try ; ) link: http://www.twitch.tv/ironmansc

    Dark Temples - mains can't be so close to each other, players will just go fast air every time and win. The natural is too hard to take or defend early on, and Zerg will be forced to 1 base play only. Also, imagine Terran going fast factory + tanks at the high ground with vision from the Xel'naga, it will kill opponent's main very easily without risk.

    Star fortress - 2v2 or 1v1 here?
