The more we play it the higher it will go up in popularity ranking, but with this small community it will go up slowly but not to the top lol. You can play this by yourself. Keuken made a solo mode which is automatic when you start by yourself. Its basically to test the game out for yourself.

Just a quick suggestion to this thread. Kueken, you should really write at the top of your thread "Change logs are at the bottom" or something like that because ive been waiting for you to update your change log at the top of the page and i havent seen any and i only found out now that your change logs are on the second post/ bottom of the thread.

I had 1 game of the new HLW (1v1) and i gotta admit it feels a hell of alot different. A few topics i would like to bring up:

    • The incredibly wide map. Its kind of annoying how wide the lanes are....it just doesn't feel right :S
    • The shops. I had absolutely no idea what was what and where i had to buy the right stuff. Perhaps giving the shops titles (visible above the shops) or perhaps a sign above the shops stating what they are eg: potions, helmets ect. I know you can view what the shop is when you click on it, but playing for the first time i was clueless and my opponent mentioned he bought alot of items that he didnt want.
    • Skills. The skills are great....so far since ive played one guy but...when i am playing a game in which waves of powerful enemies are comming at me constantly i dont have time to read a paragraph of information about a skill. When i click/mouse over on a skill the first thing a read is Defensive buffs (usually i see them in a blue/ green box or text) Offensive buffs (perhaps orange colour) Damage skills ( red colour and i concentrate on reading digits first! i always want to know asap how much damage the skills does and whether is an AoE or single nuke. Perhaps giving the skills a category title beside their name like AoE/nuke, Buff, Aura, ect. I'm mentioning this because i didnt have time to read what skills i should upgrade since strong enemies were already comming at me and it was quite frustrating knowing that the skill that i picked was not useful for my situation.

    In a nutshell:

    • Different map, different feel, not sure if im liking it...atleast in 1v1
    • Better labeled shops
    • Better labeled/described/categorized skills

Edit: Perhaps i didnt describe what i wanted with the skills that well.

Indeed, I was testing a couple of times with my teammates (well, only one of them :D) and some buddys. Like expected, the balancing is still way off, and currently, it is very hard to survive in the later stages of the game due to a lack of lategame items or other ways to power up your hero in the lategame.

However, we encountered a surprisingly low amount of bugs, the overall engine works nicely, the perfomance was okay (well - when we sent absolute unreal masses of units, of course it would lag like hell ;) )

A necessary evil... yes it seems I need to do that.

€ Updated first post and project page. Also added a release date for the public beta: Tomorrow :) (most likely in the evening, for the EU map night)

    Excellent news and nice job.

lol sandman, relax bro. Theres a long rocky road ahead of keuken to get this game balanced along with adding new characters ect so dont get blown away by the first release lol.

Some more internal testing showed, there are still some matters to take care of; however I am quite confident, I can start the beta release this week.

I've done a fair bit of programming at Tafe ( javascript, html, css, php) and Uni ( java, which i am learning right now.) but i have never thought of playing with the "easily moddable" new starcraft 2 editor. Ill consider playing around with it then if i like it and learn more about it ill try and lend you a hand keuken. Not giving any promises tho :S

Ohh well thats a shame to hear about pvp. The main point i was trying to make was it just sucks at the very end of the game where it comes down to having to blink to the enemy team and have a boring fight. But meh it was just a suggestion. But it would be nice if you have a look at the link i provided you in my previous post, because it might actually help in creating moves for new characters. Anyways keep up the good work.

Sounds good. Hopefully the pvp will actually be interesting rather than just "look at me basic attack you" or "fear my never ending stun/s"

Oh, that brings me to another point. What about implementing PVP battles where every X minutes 1 person on each team with the highest income battle each other for a small reward, but it will be fun to watch. During the process everything else stops and the others players can only spectate but once the fight is complete, every one returns to their normal positions but the game is still not in motion for about 5 seconds so people can view the map a little to see where they are at.

I don't know if you might be able to get any other good ideas from this site but i highly recommend you look at it, it can help you create great moves along with figuring out the formulas for certain abilities Link to site > League of Legends. This game derived from the makers of Dota. I dont expect you to make the ability system like they did, but this is just to help you create ideas on what moves you can make and ways to balance out the moves.

Ahh yes, one other point i should make is that ive noticed in HLW magical ability attack based characters become useless in the very end (against the final and strongest tier units) but physical based characters are easy to maintain. It proves difficult to fight off hordes of strong units as a magical attack based character where as for example the blade master can make 8 or something illusions of himself with a nice crit chance along with agility to boots his attack speed and damage and thats all he needs. So a way to avoid this problem is to give abilities flat damage + a certain % of your characters agility, strength or intelligence. its 1 am here so imma continue this later.
