Does anybody of you mapsters remember the wc3 tower defense "Artifact TD" ?
It was a TD with a spawn point, 3 waypoints and an end point. You had to maze yourself and kind of played it as GemTD, where the first towers you built are useless until you upgraded them. If i remember it correctly you also played each wave for yourself, next waves always came shortly after you finished the the current one / or you had to press 'spawn creep wave' (not sure though).
The big difference to other TD was/is that you had ALOT of 'locked towers'. These were more powerful than the normal ones. To unlock such a tower you needed to gain experience, which you always got at the end of the whole map, fighting an immortal 'Damage Test'-Mob to determine your exp value.
So the fun part about this TD was to keep playing over and over to unlock more towers you've never seen before and deal significantly more damage every time you play (due to new towers).
Not really sure how active this community is still, but I atleast wanted to give it a shoutout, because this map definitely has potention to be played alot by our current sc2 community.

i was doing my own melee map (Cruix Station NA). I made the terrain and finished everything when suddendly everywhere appeared little debris on the ground (when i was testing it ingame). http://imgur.com/a/w7x3i
Those debris arent appearing in the list of doodads or units. I have no idea how they appeared but obviously i dont wanna have them on my map.
in the end you have to deal damage to a damage test (like a boss with endless hp).
the dealt damage works as experience you gain to level up / unluck new towers
Well yeah im playing GemTD already but theres no level up system for towers. you will always have the same standart towers. you only can "level up" the difficulty by beating the one before with a specific score.
So i was just asking for a good Mapper to look over this and this might draw his attention :)
every player can decide when to start his creep wave
at the end of all waves you fight a damage test which will give you xp for level ups
when you gained level ups you unlock new towers/upgrades for towers so you can fight harder monsters (easy/normal/hard...) and make more xp at the end of the map to unlock even more powerfull towers.
The point of this map is you want to play it, so you can reach even better towers and to do even more damage. It seems like a circle. Its not like other td where you can play it 3 times and get bored because its all the same everytime you play it.
The official wc3 name was "artifact td"
It would be awesome if you guys can take a look to recreate that tower defense for the sc2 community.

Well yeah the level up system works like that:
