    posted a message on 2D Art menus Concept, easy triggers

    This is just an example of a way to use the 2D art mode for creating menus with options, sounds, music and basicly anything that will make your game intro look amazing in comparison to a standard dialog with a dialog button. This hole video map was made in 10-15min tops, using only MS Paint (Paint.exe) and Photoshop for the transparency. There's no sound, but there is a custom sound when clicking menus, and another music running in the background. Everything is made in a couple of triggers, about 3 triggers, 20 lines total for everything in the video. You guys think theres anything worthwhile doing in making a complete menu like this?

    This was just to prove a concept, if anyone have any ideas for a menu, or want a menu for their game, just send me a message and I'll be happy to help.

    Just make dialog items and make them target different players? that will be easy unless you WANT it to be after the player clicks heal spell, then click and it cast that spell. Dunno how what would work out easy

    Never seen Jericho, but yeah the postman was an awful two hour post apo movie; there are a lot of other wasteland movies that top it (read: I don't mean only newer ones eg. the road, but old ones too) ..

    Iunno how much I would want to join a community of people who enforce law.. I think I'd prefer raiding, don't really wanna play nice if I can get away with it.. and if anyone disagrees.. Well I'm trained in archery and pistol shooting, and I can do a damn good 6min zerg rush if anyone gets in my way.

    What would you guys do about familie and friends, try to find reach them, or assume they are dead and move on? I think most movies now days, portrait people trying to reach their familie and obviously realizing they are already dead on the way. I think this is the most logic course, but according to previous statement there is a 5% chance they are alive, but assuming your parrents are 50 yrs+ they wont have a chance of surviving for long period of time, and in the end, as heartless as it might be, unless you dig in, they probally slow you down. That being said, I'd probally go to mine anyhow.

    What's the advg. shelf-time on canned food now days? Years?

    There was a PhD paper on surviving the wasteland, actually read it, was so funny someone would do a phd paper on that. I remember in most of the cases water would end up contaminated rather fast; so I think the first thing I would do is fill all sinks with water and bottles ect.

    ANyway, perhaps for a more interresting question:

    HOW DO YOU PREPARE,NOW? Personally; we stock about 100 liters of water, tent, gasburner and full forrest survival equipment (active outdoormanship) together with an inflatable raft, and all my military equipment together in the basement. I'm not afraid of the doomsday, but it can't hurt having the stuff ready for what not, and im not so panicing that I store food, the water is after a serie of water contaminating we had over some years. I think I should start storing some food, and just rotate it every now and then.

    Is it too much to have my stuff ready like that, I mean I gotta store it anyway, and I bet if you ask people in floods ect. if they wanted an inflatable raft... yaa, best 40 buck I ever spend, on something I never used, so far....

    Seems majority agrees on rebuilding a community, but how would you do it? Would you have respect for the weak and dieing who were still alive or would you rule the survival of your "group" higher and steal the things you needed? Obviously water is going to be a major problem, as we req. so many liters of water per day no matter how you look at it.

    The world ended; the humane world ended and everyone is tryin to survive. What would your goals be? Theres no more law, your a couple of persons, theres not massive panic, we're a bit past that. Theres like, hmm, about 1/20th people left so it's not too crowded. What would you do?

    Personally, I think I'd lean towards getting a group and a car and just empting house after house for food, water, medicine, weapons, seeds & misc... It might sound like a cliche, but I think that would be the best way to establish a small community with propper food rationing and then just raiding houses for everything usable.

    Pretty sure that's do-able through triggers without problems. Just check when unit takes damage, the unit taking damage is the player, if players within a range of him, then adjust the damage between them. I was looking for towards diffcult problems eg. FPS (Already done though), WSAD movement (also done ofc) .. For simple in-game triggers and data editing, I suggest checking Deathrons post :)

    Anyone got some special feature, terrain or something they would love to see the engine do? I am looking for some more advanced project, that will allow us to think different and expand the possibilities of the engine (read: current common-knowlegde) .. So any good ideas, or something you're just missing?
