I am about to purchase a new book on Java, but I do not know which one to buy first...I don't have money for two so that's not an option, so if anyone could give me some insight that would be amazing!
I don't understand actors as I the topic title should of clarified in a way. I saw they were like triggers, but yea. It just seems so complicated. It almost feels like picking up a Java book for the first time being insanely confused, or trying to solve an account Journal equation when the creator of the problem had many typo's.
I know explaining actors is long, proven by Prozaic's tutorial, but is there a way to kind of sum them up in a paragraph so I understand what they actually do?
It will never look the way you want it until you do it yourself. Almost like the saying about books, "If there's a book you really want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it."
That statement can apply for nearly anything. If you want someone to do the Terrain for you, you have to be willing to take there ideas because what they are imagining isn't what your imagining.
Minecraft took nearly a year for notch to program and it's pretty simple and to the point. It made me wonder, how harder would it be to create an indie RPG? Not saying I am going to try and make one, at least yet, about the only thing I can make is a 'for loop' loop around a statement 1000+ times showing the multiplication and division tables!
I was just curious if it would be any harder at all or if it would take the same amount of time.
Speaking of indie games, what's your favorite indie game? Personally I liked Minecraft but Super Meat Boy was amazing.
I am near horrible with coming up with catchy names. I'm trying to start a blog but I was stumped once I saw, "What's the name of your blog?" Now anyone that is good with catchy or cool names if you could help me that would be great!
Things you may need to know what my blog will be a compilation of:
• Programming
• Game Development
• Sports
• Goals in life
• Misc
Just something catchy if anyone could help me please, I will even give a link to the blog once I create it! ^_^(Maybe even my twitter account.)
P.S: I am also trying to come up with a name, not just dropping it on you guys. :D
classjavamath{publicstaticvoidmain(String[]args){intnumber=225;Stringtext="Hello.";chartext1='A';if(number==225){System.out.println("The square root of "+number+" is "+Math.sqrt(number));}else{intnumber2=230;System.out.println("The square root of "+number2+" could not be found.");}}}
Here I tried out if and else statements for some practice with them. But I have had an issue...
classjavamath{publicstaticvoidmain(String[]args){intnumber=225;Stringtext="Hello.";chartext1='A';if(number==225){System.out.println("The square root of "+number+" is "+Math.sqrt(number));
Everything fine is here, but look at the integer.
else{intnumber2=225System.out.println("The square root of "+number2+" could not be found.");}}}
In the else statement it will not let me call on the integer called number, so I made a new integer...But it just does not seem right, I almost know for sure I should be calling on the first integer instead of making another one.
P.S: I realize my strings don't make a lot of sense, it was just a quick test in java coding as I stated.

Sigh, all your posts on sc2mapster make me feel like your just trying to use people instead of trying anything yourself.
No, I am not trying to verbally attack you, I am just stating what I see from all your posts.

Ladies,

I really suck at Terrain. This is my first submission, I hope it looks good. Maybe with future WTE's I will get more skill. ^^

If that is perfect code, like you said it is probably the wrong program then or I wrote a mistook a statement for another. Oh well. Thanks anyway. :)

Nope. It's there alright.

It wont let me use the number = 225 in the else statement. That's my issue.

Road is in the terrain pallete.

I got the same message. I thought I would be nice and give him feedback. But random things like that worry me inside.

Progammer. That is the most epic thing I have heard in the past week. :D
