    posted a message on Dialog Boxes

    I hope I answer my own question here.

    When I create a dialog box and want to make it give someone 9999 minerals when clicked, would I create the trigger separately, or would I do within the Dialog box trigger?

    And if I wanted to do this, how would I make it on a % basis?

    Okay, I figured out how to do it. Turns out I didn't need to use the Data Editor at all like I thought, so I guess this belongs in Terrain. But now after adding a Skybox, the camera seems messed up. :( Can anyone see how I can fix this? The map is attached below.

    Have any of you played Star Battle? Do any of you know how he was able to get the Char planet in the background? I'm having a hard time understanding how to do it and I have been in the editor for quite some time. I'm brand new to the editor, so all I really know how to do is Terrain and triggers that spawn this or so unit.

    Back to my point: I am trying to create the atmosphere of Star Battle in my map I want to make, keep in mind it's not exactly like Star Battle, there's no huge main battleship, etc. I just need the atmosphere, the planet in the background. I don't know how to do that and I have tried myself before coming and asking. :(

    I'm trying to add C+Plus to my knowledge, and I understand Galaxy Scripting is much like it, so I was wondering, could anyone point me towards a website where I could learn it that is towards game programming? I'm trying to read out of a book that is listed on a book store website but the purposely make the text so small. ;(

    Proof I am trying to learn C+Plus:

    // Game Over

    #include <iostream>

    int main()
    {

          std::cout <<"Game Over!"<< std::endl;
          return 0;

    }

    :) Anyway, if anyone could help with finding a website, I would be most greatful!

    posted a message on 3D Modelling software

    I use Blender right now, but it feels too cartoonish. I'd like something that is a bit more realistic I guess. I'm looking for something that is free because right now I am flat broke. I don't think the creators of Maya will accept my measly $54.00 when they price something at $3500.00. :) Maybe there just that nice, but who knows!

    Does anyone know of some free software I can use? And no, I refuse to torrent priced items.

    I am going to be getting a CPlusx2 book a bit before Christmas. All I am doing is learning the basics since Java is nearly CPlusx2 in applet form.

    Yeah, I know. This is why I am learning Java. It seems a bit simpler then CPlusx2 its just something I am starting out on. I'd like to make a small game like...a super mario bros thing. Just to kind of get a feel of what I am doing. Of course if I did a Super Mario Bro's it would never be public, just for practice you know.

    When I wanted to learn programming CPlusx2, was always the idea, but to get the basic feel I am using Java for a bit. Then I will definitely be getting into CPlusx2. I hope you guys know what I mean.

    @SoulCarveRR this is why I am asking what book I should pick up, or even if any of you had any type of suggestion. I learn most from books, I have trouble learning this from sitting on a computer. I learn by books mostly. :)
