I was going to suggest they add it to the catalog, since they appear to have overlooked this particular field. Since it needs to be referenced by index, the functionality becomes buggy if they make changes. For Patch 1.5, the value was "46", and I had to keep incrementing in my triggers until I found the new value.
I call upon Achievement Rewards in my Achievement library, which I've just updated to match the latest beta patch, and the solution is to use "49" in the catalog field (custom script).

I defy negative gamer stereotypes. I stay fit in my free time, practicing taekwondo and jujitsu; I’m currently six months from my first-degree black belt. I have a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and will have my PhD in Mechanical Engineering in two years. My research* uses gaming to help address an important need in society and is being already being used in local hospitals and clinics to improve the balance rehabilitation for patients experiencing stroke and other forms of neurotrauma. I’ve been a gamer since I was in middle school, and find the most enjoyment in playing games with my friends. My favorite games would have to be those made by Blizzard Entertainment, along with the Halo and DragonAge franchises. Currently, my game of choice is World of Warcraft – Mists of Pandaria, which I play with my fiancée.

From my experience, the problem could be due to your use of a damage-increasing element to your veterancy behavior which is increasing the damage of your spell. First off, does your veterancy behavior increase weapon damage done by the hero? If so, what type of damage is being increased (i.e. melee, ranged, splash, spell)? What type of damage does your frost bolt spell do (I'm assuming "spell" from what you said before)? Are you accidentally increasing the hero's spell damage, thereby increasing the spell's damage as well?
To solve a problem like this, you can either remove the spell damage increase from the veterancy behavior or check flags on the damage effect which determine whether bonus/scaled/unscaled boosts to damage are taken into account when calculating the damage amount.
Hi, I'm working on a map where I need to make creeps give you a bounty something like 33% of the time. I'm using modify player as the death response from fatal damage but I'm not quite getting it to work. Does anyone have and experience with this type of system?
I've done something very similar to this, essentially making creeps drop a minerals powerup on death and disabling the visual for the powerup itself, leaving only the "+# minerals" indicator. For your situation, I would advise playing with the player field for the effect, and trying out both the "handled" and "exhausted" fields for the death response. If I remember right, one of the two fields didn't work for me, while the other one did.
In that case, it looks like the only option would be as DrSuperEvil suggested. Use the "Issue Order" trigger and order the unit to use the appropriate learn ability. For example, if your learn ability has a "Learn Stimpack" button associated with the Stimpack ability, search for "Learn Stimpack" in the trigger action's "Ability Command" field.
Apologies if this is somewhat of a necro. I found this thread while trying to solve a pathfinding issue with my abduct ability and wasn't able to easly find the thread that SoulFilcher referenced. In case anyone else has this issue, Renee's thread is located here:
Sorry Rodrigo, I love you and all, but you chose a good place to crop it :)
I thought the same, but I think it's partially a function of sc2ranks.com's data mining process. All maps, even extremely popular ones like Hero Attack, drop off significantly within a week or so of today's date. You really can't look at recent data and assume that it's accurate.
Use an ability of the type "Effect - Target". The ability will need the "smart" flag, which will give you the right-click to use functionality. As you said, you'll probably want to use validators (and ability filters) to ensure that the correct units can be targeted. The ability will bestow the target unit with a behavior which changes the owner and can also be set to change team color.
That's the basic idea. You should be able to find information in other threads and in the wiki regarding the particulars.
I took a look at it, and I'm not really sure what it's supposed to do. It might come into play with Blizzard All-Stars, or it might be used for HotS with Kerrigan being a hero that carries over from mission to mission. If you make any interesting discoveries regarding how it works, I'd be glad to hear about them, but I probably won't play around with it too much more.

Multi-level abilities and the Learn ability work differently from normal abilities.

Have you tried the "Add Level to Unit Ability" trigger?

Google works better for searching SC2ranks than the site's built-in search. (e.g. do a Google search for ["Nexus Word Wars" site:sc2ranks.com]).

There's a hero tab now? I've been making heroes for the past few days and never notice. I'll have to look into that.
