I got the attachments to work, I got another race in the game and got new attachments to work. Hopefully what I've done here can inspire someone to take this to the next step if I fail to push this further myself.
I got the shoulder model to spawn in the right position on game initiation, however, the model is not attached. Anyone know hoe to get it to stay on? I am posting an updated version.
I have gotten the wow character model for an orc warrior in tier 9 into wow along with the models for its shoulders and its helm. I am wondering if you know how to attach the thoulder and helm models. I have been trying to grok/research this with little to no avail.
Im on the same boat as mangled. I'm trying to get a left shoulder pauldron to attach to the left shoulder. I will attempt to do this as well and once I get it done I'll post a step by step tutorial.
I'm not looking for a certain item to make an object attatch to my model (Im using wow models) but is there a possible way to get an object (left shoulder pauldron) to attatch to a unit (an orc, specifically on the left shoulder) at all times?
I have successfully imported models from WoW into the SC2 Map editor (includes the character, shoulder armor and helmet models). The character model has the select few animations i think will be necessary for my intentions (walk, stand, attack, etc...) needed in its .m3 file and all the textures are working properly. I used the model viewer to check all the animations and they all seem to function as intended. However, when the character model gets put onto a unit, the model is stiff as a board.
To complete my task I need to accomplish for this test importation:
1) Get the unit to animate with the animations that are attached to it.
2) Get the shoulder and helm to get on the model and snap in the right way.
3) Create custom abilities for the unit.
3 is really easy, however I want it to look good with the model I am working on right now so using a SC@ unit would be kind of silly. That aside, I need to locate where I can modify a units animations and link them to the model. Has anyone toyed with this yet? If you have any questions that could help solve this predicament, please let me know. Also, if there are any questions in general (that are relevant to this topic) please feel free to ask.
edit-----------
WOAH! I checked the animations and it looks like I excluded a stand animation. Whoops! Going to change that.

My predicament is very similar to this. I need to attach stuff in the exact same way only to different attachment points.
Bumping for link to the so-said tutorial.
