    I am pleased to announce that Heaven's Last Defense has gone live. Please play and give me feedback. I will be posting an official thread on the SC2 forums.     Some back story. At the start of the game, each player pick's their hero(es) and get a group of units with the associated hero. So "Player 1" may control x unit one game and a completely different unit/group next game. I am giving each group of heroes ownership of an untargetable, unattackable way off in the corner of the map to use as a reference point. I do this because I can't base it off a unit in the map as that unit may die. Think of it like a variable, only physically present on the map.

    Second, I used to make SC1 maps and a lot of the trigger writing was based off of units and ownership, so its just the way I think. The map is a 5v3 (8 live players) tower/hero/area defense from the SC1 days. It was a part of the old map, so I tried to recreate it here.

    I know for certain that it doesn't fire, the units are neither given to the dummy players nor does it show up as firing in the trigger debugger when I solo test them. Its been very frustrating. When one particular player leaves, it should end the game. If I can get this ironed out I think I am ready for some live stuff.

    I have been struggling with these triggers, there are sixteen of them in all for when players leave the game. Previous forum posts state that the "player leaves with any" event has been fixed. This has not proven true for my map. Here are sample triggers. There is one for when a player leaves and one for giving his units to another player based on moving a probe into a colored area. The giving trigger will fire but not the leaving one.

    I took about a week break and got most of them fixed, at this point the only triggers that don't work are the ones based on "Player - Player (Owner of X unit) leaves with any." I know the trigger was broken, then supposedly fixed. Now it seems to be broken again.

    Hey guys. I am looking for someone with some fresh eyes to look at my triggers and data and just kind of spot check/QC them. There are certainly some errors, however I have no friends that are map makers, only players. Its tough to get feedback when all they tell you is that "its broken." I have a map that I think will be pretty darn popular and an asset to SC2 Mapster if I can just get over the hump. I have been looking at code for so long I just don't see the mistakes anymore. Please, please, please if you have some time and would like to help me out, I would love to give you credit on the loading screen.

    I suggest you do one thing and one thing only. Apologize for being a tool and leave it at that. My guess is that you are a fairly young guy, so you have lots of time and opportunity. You yourself just went through a life change. Trying to rekindle something from the past may be a step backwards for you. I would recommend that you forget about her as a girlfriend or whatever, apologize and move on with your life. Because she was your first love and first kiss, she can always have a special place in your heart and memory.

    Ask yourself this question. I you were dating a girl who acted like you used to, you broke up for six months and she came back out of the blue and wanted you back, would you take her? You are setting yourself up for heartache. Let her move on, you move on and always have good memories.

    I have been working on Heaven's Last Defense and run into many problems. I have solved 99% of them myself thanks to the tutorials on the SC2Mapster. However I am now at a point where I cannot find a tutorial for my problem and I don't know how to solve it.

    I have a character selection screen. When you choose a character and confirm it you get control of Hero units, Elite units, etc... My problem is this. I want the game to wait to start until all players have chosen their heroes. I know this is based around a Boolean Array variable and a loop, I just don't know how to make it work. Ideally, once all players have made their choice, the Boolean would come back all true and initiate the cameras moving, the countdown ticking and all that jazz. Anyone have any advice?

    Okay, so I have produced a map all the way to the point where it is ready for beta testing, or so I thought. I have run into a snag that I cannot find a workaround for without putting in a character selection screen before you see the map. My problem is this. I have an 8 player map. 5 v 3. I need each slot in the game lobby to represent a character in the map. I have tried assigning it every way I can think of. This is a port of Heaven's Last defense and ideally, the following would apply.

    Slot 1 = player 7 Slot 2 = player 2 Slot 3 = player 3 Slot 4 = player 4 Slot 5 = player 8 Slot 6 = player 1 Slot 7 = player 6 Slot 8 = player 5

    Now if i could find a way to do it with 8 teams that would be fine too. I just need the slots in the lobby to correspond to the archetypes in game. Essentially I need the lobby to work like it did in SC1. Anyone have any advice. As it stands now the first player in the game is Player 1 and is defaulted to that role no matter what slot or team he is on.

    I have a couple of questions. I am nearing completion of Heaven's Last Defense and I have run into some strange errors that I can't seem to lock down.

    First: I have written a series of triggers for setting alliances and such using unit groups. Every time I test my map, I get a very long string of errors pertaining to that set of triggers in the trigger debugger. Invalid parameter, value -1, (0,15) I think it is because I am testing it offline that it is doing this but I wanted to make sure.

    Second: Whenever I test my map, the camera starts in the lower left corner of the map, not at the start point for player 1. I have set up start points for all 8 players in the map. Is this just a function of testing as well or to I need to set up cameras for all the start points.

    Third: I have a leaderboard set up to track kills and hero kills. Unfortunately, killing certain structures or units, destroys other units on the map. This generates an error in the trigger as the leaderboard is set up off of Owner of Killing Unit. Is there a workaround for this error?

    Finally: Can I create my own Achievements for this particular map? Is there a way to track these achievements?

    posted a message on LF1M to finish map, I suck at terrain

    Me and another guy have a map about 75% complete. Unfortunately, real life has kicked him in the butt and he cannot keep working on it. I need someone who is good at terrain to help me finish up this map. It is the remake of Heaven's Last Defense/Stand. The units are completely done as are the buildings. I need to finish the terrain and get the triggers wrapped up. So, anyone interested please respond here, in the project page or PM me. Thanks for your consideration.
