    Left 2 Die is a zombie defense game, This will not be a zombie defense game at all. This will be a survival game/(like taco said)find a cure game. Its based on the movie "I Am Legend" where will smith plays a scientist (who is immune to the disease) that goes out and hunts food during the day as well as zombies and runs test on them from his own blood to find a cure.

    The only defense mechanism will be that you are not out to late for the zombies to follow you home and if you are and they do than you only have you're armor based defenses and one big explosion to fend them off for the rest of the round. Armor based defense meaning fortified to withstand attacks, not upgraded to cause damage.

    posted a message on Dialog Timer That Counts Up

    Ok so i have a Dialog with a Label that counts up each second. But with the "Dialog - Move (Last created dialog item) to (0, 0) relative to Center of dialog for (All players)" in any position i move it, it just makes the text disappear completely. This is the setup in triggers:

    Variables -

    Dialog Timer (Folder)

    - Seconds (Trigger)

    Events
    • Timer - Every 1.0 seconds of Real Time
    Local Variables
    Conditions
    Actions
    • Dialog - Set Dialog Label text to (Text(Seconds seconds) using Standard (hh:mm:ss) format) for (All players)
    • Variable - Modify Seconds: + 1

    Dialog Label = No Dialog Item <Dialog Item>

    Seconds = 0 <Integer>

    Timer Dialog Frame = No Dialog <Dialog>

    Map Initialization -

    • Dialog - Create a Modal dialog of size (250, 250) at (0, -250) relative to Right of screen
    • Variable - Set Timer Dialog Frame = (Last created dialog)
    • Dialog - Show Timer Dialog Frame for (All players)
    • Dialog - Set title of Timer Dialog Frame to "Time:"
    • Dialog - Create a Label for dialog Timer Dialog Frame
    • Variable - Set Dialog Label = (Last created dialog item)
    • Dialog - Move (Last created dialog item) to (0, 0) relative to Center of dialog for (All players)

    I've also tried defining each variable so there are no "Last created Dialog Item" or "Last Created Dialog" Below are some screen shots of before the move and after the move, Any help with moving the label to the center of the dialog would be much appreciated.

    The top parts clearly the mini map which i have set up in a custom ui file, but i figured i would show it so there was no wondering what that weird looking cut off part was. its not another dialog.

    how come its in the very bottom right corner? any idea? lol.. cause its right where the bottom of my command panel is.. i suppose i could offset the command panel to be above it and move the frame down, but i dont understand why it isnt in its correct area, where the frame originally is.

    Any way of moving it with a custom ui file or in the editor? i figured out how to move the frame but the button just shows up at the bottom of my ui not inside the frame.

    hmm i took a look at them and they aren't exactly what im looking for. its going to be a urban area with alot of buildings and cars and just a city on the verge of full ruins. If you want to go ahead and give it a shot and let me see then i might be able to either just say wow and accept it or tweek it a bit and give you full credit in the map :) otherwise its not what im looking for those maps are very simplistic in terrain.

    Please dont think im insulting or talking bad im not im sure they are great for what you needed them for :)

    killing zombies will be in the game, only in the daytime though and only when looking in areas that the light does not hit. I.E Inside dark "Buildings!"

    What is this "We Are Legend" Crap?

    We Are Legend is a new game type I've been planning out for a few weeks, The entire game play is not completely figured out but that's one reason I am trying to form a team for it! The basic's of the game are figured out but its still missing something, Someone Else's input on the game play. Also yes its inspired by the movie "I Am Legend"

    Whats your information and how will we stay in contact?

    • I Am from Ohio on the east side of the United States (yes the most boring state)
    • I Am on Eastern Standard Time. EST.
    • I Have Aim, Msn Skype And Ventrillo. Though i do not own a ventrillo server.

    So what do you have planned out currently?

    The basics of the game play are as followed:
    • Co-Op
    • Time Attack
    • Amount of players undetermined
    • Night and Day Transitions
    • Players will have a "Home Area" that is at an Unknown Location by the hostile units (Aka Zombies) With a One Time "Nuke" (Big Explosion... Not Necessarily an actual nuke ability) .
    • Players will Have to Capture "Zombies" in order to run experiments on them in order to make a cure for the zerg disease that has taken them hostage and turned them into mindless zombies.
    • Players have their run of the environment during the day but at night Zombie leaders (Very strong) and regular zombies will try to track down the players "Home Area" in order to destroy it and kill the player.
    • Players must fortify their "Home Area" with Non Lethal Components In order to Hold the zombies back.
    • Players must find and kill neutral animals for "Food" in order to stay alive.
    • If a player is still running around too close to nightfall the "Zombies" will follow them home Revealing their Home Area for the rest of the round.
    • And much more!!!! but that's a surprise for everyone that plays :D

    I Can do a lot of whats going to be required myself when it comes to data, I just might need someone to more advanced things such as model changing/tweaking and some more advanced abilities.

    Triggers

    I Need someone that pretty much knows their way around most advanced trigger functions, Again I can do some of the smaller more basic things like simple dialogs but for the more advanced things that need to be done i will need a handy trigger man!
    I desire some effects seen in the "Mafia" map but this map will not be anything of the sort.

    Cinematic Personnel

    Someone that knows how to make a cinematic just shine! :D

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I wont be starting this map until i have a solid team together as I'm working on an independent map of my own right now but as soon as i get a couple people, that map can be pushed aside in order to get this project up and running.
    I plan to make this map good enough for blizzard to recognize it and if we fail to meet that standard then at least we will accomplish that players like it.
