posted a message on Potential cinematic creators

You're arguing semantics. What point are you trying to make? Who cares if it's called "Cinematic Creation" or "New Cinematic Creation tool"? (Well, I do. "New Cinematic Creation tool" is a stupid name for a forum. Why not name the Tutorials forum "Tutorials about the Starcraft 2 editor"? Because it's just a title and the title doesn't need to contain all the information.)

And I assume that you're allowed to discuss the creation of cinematics through triggers here as well although that could also be put in the trigger forums. The reason this was created now and not earlier was because there was no need for an additional forum before since it could all fit in the trigger forums. Now that there is a WHOLE new editor within the SC2 editor, they added a forum for the incoming patch where there will be a lot of new discussion about this feature. Why are you complaining?

I have to read The Name of the Wind then if it's so good. I have it, I just haven't had time to read it yet.

Nice to know some players actually play it on EU.

I'm not sure I understand your reason for making engine's power consumption non-linear.

I'll try to fix the tooltips. I know the missile tooltips lack damage information. I'll add that in.

I'm not sure when you played, but drones mine pretty well and I've never had any problems with them loading missiles. At least not since I updated them a couple of weeks ago. They can now actually transition between different orders without being stuck on one order forever.

There is a message when the player leaves that tells you that you can use them as drones. However, I don't think many people notice it since it's in the middle of the "XXXX left the game. etc etc etc." And most people just read the first part.

I agree that the ship should return, I'll see what I can do about that.

That's an old picture. I agree with you that the medivac is not the best model for it.

I am currently using the blimp (no ads) model for the miner and the nomad model for the mine layer ship.

Yeah, I've been working on it for a long time now, publishing new versions every now and then. I think most of themaster2012's message was written on another site several months ago, and he just copied it over. Right now the wordpress page has a decent amount of posts, even if I don't have time to post regularly. I've obviously come a long way since then.

I'm not quite sure which tooltips are lacking. I think the only tooltips that I've left empty were the increase/decrease core production, and that was only for a patch or so.

Infinite upgrades is not something I have even considered. It's something I'll have to think about at a later time.

Did you play it by yourself, or did you get others to play with? It can be rather boring in single player.

I'm quite sure they used to refer to the lost viking as the arcade. Many objects have names containing arcade. Such as "ArcadeTerraTron", "ArcadePowerupBomb", "ArcadeCorruptor".

I don't see the issue given all the notes were sent to us in an email before we were asked to agree to any kind of NDA. I would have thought they'd make it very explicit if all of this was intended to be kept under wraps, but in both emails I received I saw nothing about keeping a secret.

This seems very reasonable. Leak it!

It feels like a lot of mapmakers have got an invite. Maybe everyone with a published map got one? Can anyone with a published map who didn't get an invite disprove this? I have a published map, but my battle.net account is linked to a hotmail account I don't use anymore, and hotmail apparently removed the email(I was able to register a new one with the same name).

Yep, I've been having the same bug for a while now. My usual solution is to quit the editor and discard the changes and then remove the file and rename it outside the editor and import it back in.

Just because no one can control themselves perfectly, does not make it alright.

I personally think racism is wrong. It is not human nature to feel superior to people who are different. We are born without hate towards people who are different. Some people are then raised in a way that causes them to embrace racism. Maybe their parents were racist, or they have had bad experiences with people around them. It doesn't mean they can just say: "Hey, I'm racist, but it's okay because it's human nature."

When it comes to homosexuals, I have to admit I can sometimes feel uncomfortable with them. However, I'll never ever deny them the same rights as everyone else, especially not when it comes to love.

    As for the elections:

I'm not up to date with the french elections.

Putin seems like a ruthless badass.

In the American elections, I feel like all the republican politicians and moronic. If I lived in the USA, I would never vote for them with their current values. I feel like Obama is doing a decent job under the circumstances and there are logical explanations for some of the more controversial things he's done that he often receives criticism for(NDAA etc)

posted a message on Game link - upgrade variables not working while stored in records

I know all this and I have a working record with the "Game link - upgrade" variable inside it. I also have a variable set to my record.

Here's just a new map I set up to demonstrate my problem.

    First picture

As you can see, I have a record with a "Game link - Upgrade" variable in it. I also have a - Record variable set to my record. I also have another "Game link - Upgrade" variable outside the record.

    Second picture

Now, in my debug message action, I'm trying to print the name of the upgrade. As you can see, the parameter type is set to "Game link - upgrade" but I only see the Game link - upgrade OUTSIDE the record. The one inside is hidden.

If I were to do this with integer variables instead, I would see them both in the list(if I changed to convert an integer to text instead of a game link)

posted a message on Game link - upgrade variables not working while stored in records

Okay, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. Basically, I want to convert an upgrade that is located in a record to a string. However, using the "Convert Game Link To String" and changing the type from "Unit type" to "- Game Link: Upgrade" doesn't work. The record doesn't show up in the variables list.

Here's the weird parts: If I create a normal variable of the same type, but outside the record, it shows up in the variable list.

If I use another action like "Add Upgrade Level For Player", it shows up fine in the variable list.
