This has happened to me three times in a year of terraining with the editor. I'm not sure what exactly causes it, and I can't willfully reproduce it.
The only way to remedy the problem is if you have a backup map in which you can copy/paste your terrain over. This does however cause you to lose any work done with hiding terrain cells, which is a pain in the ass for me personally.. I don't think many other people will have a problem with it.
When the textures are corrupted it will corrupt the entire map, and dump all the data.
I lost about 720KB worth of terrain information when it happened this last time.
The SC2 editor is a baby at the moment - a very powerful baby with flaws. When HoTS is released it will be a teenager. When LotV is released it will be a man. Start raising your baby, or move on to another development kit.
Back on topic. I'm down to help. This is a positive step in the right direction. If you're fighting this, you're swimming against the current. The times have indeed changed. The systems have become more powerful, yet more complex. We must come together as a collective and learn from one another.
If you can't change the system, you adapt and overcome.
Talk to you more on Skype, Prozaic. Also, anyone interested in helping out, shoot Prozaic or myself a message via mapster with your Skype information and desired contribution role. (Prozaic might not find your message because he has over 500 unread in his inbox - not joking).
Nice. SexLethal I want you to message Mille25 here on the forums and talk to him about the possibilities of bank protection. He will be VERY interested to hear what you have to say since he's working with most of the banking. I'm pretty much a noob in the area of bank protection so he's the guy you'll talk to. Sex send your personal email to my inbox and head over to worldofstarcraft.proboards.com and set yourself up there. It would be awesome to have you on the team. :D

I'd argue that "Eiviyn" and "ignorant" are synonymous.

Functioning as intended. It breaks because you have no wait in the thread.

I'm here. I'm not leaving to visit Blizz for a while. I'll compact and merge this thread into a nice tight little package for them before I go.

... I had every intention of releasing a playable demo and still might if everything falls through.
