@Colt: You never said the game was crap? Might wanna reread the post I quoted from then, cause you definately said, "I don't buy shitty games." Implying that SC2 is a shitty game. Otherwise, you wouldn't have a reason to not buy it.

And as an aside note, I don't have a problem with you hating Bnet, or SC2 for that matter, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, regardless of whether they bought it or not. What I'm getting my feathers ruffled up over, is how your expressing those views. Stop demanding that everyone else follows your views, at risk of being labled a fuckwit otherwise. You don't wanna buy the game, that's fine, but don't bother coming round and forcing your opinions on others the way your doing.

Hmm, you might wanna head on back to school, because you appearently never learned what the word "if" means. I never said I bought the game, I never said I am, currently, entitled to anything. I said -IF- I buy a game, I'm entitled. Lrn2engrish.

IF you bought the game, then yes, you'd be entitled to complain. But as you HAVEN'T bought the game, you have no right to complain.
Perhaps, your the one who needs to go back to school, and learn how to read?

    Quote:

Blizzard is preventing me from buying the game by proving, time and time again, that they don't care about their players. The pop system was said to be bad way back during the beta, THOUSANDS of players said it was bad. They ignored us all, and months later they haven't even hinted that they'll ever fix it. <</quote>> I'm sorry, did you suddenly become head programmer for Blizz for a day, and know exactly how to fix it in a few hours? Well, shit the bed, that's great. We can all rest easy now, cause Colt has the solution that'll take no time at all.

    Quote:

I dunno about you, but I don't have unlimited money. So I'm not gonna go throw it at a broken game I can't enjoy, made by a company who couldn't give two shits about it's players. If you like supporting such companies, go ahead, you'll be helping the downfall of the gaming industry, but fuck it's your money. I for one have a little higher standards, and I'll buy the game once they fix the fucking problems with it.

No, I don't have unlimited money, and to be honest, I'm probably in the minority who didn't buy the game for multiplayer, so it has no bearing whatsoever on my enjoyment of the game. The game works, your just pissed cause your mates left it before you bought it. Now you don't have anyoe to play with.

<<quote>> P.S. Why the fuck would I give two shits what happens on other regions? It doesn't effect me. I know what maps have been up since the beta because this very fucking site has a list. I also know how the system is because it hasn't changed since the beta, and like the beta the search function is still useless. Honestly man, I don't need the game to be informed on it. All I need is a source of information, and considering I have 3 friends who all bought the game (two quit cuz it's broke as shit), I'm more then capable of keeping tabs on it. Your ignorance is showing, you might wanna cover it up.

Pop system works in other regions well enough Colt, that's why you should pay attention. Perhaps you lack the understanding to realise that the system isn't as broke as you think, and that it's just too many idots play crappy little games.

...At that point I said "I don't buy shitty games", and didn't buy it. ... Because SC2 really is a good game, it's rock solid.

You realise that your arguing with yourself there, right? Is SC2 a crap game or a good game? Make up your mind. The editor, as much as you may hate to admit it, is NOT part of the game. It's an added bonus, and they are under no obligation whatsoever to deal with it in any way.

I -AM- fucking entitled. If I pay 60 bucks for a game, I am ENTITLED to be able to enjoy it and play it as I see fit.

From your earlier post. You haven't paid 60 quid for anything, so, no your not entitled. And you never will be, until you spend the 60 quid. And just how do you know anything about the system when you can't even use it? Clearly you don't know there's a seach function, which *gasp* searches. And you obviously have no idea about what maps have been up since release, why? Cause you can't find out in game. I'm guessing your american, which means you may know what games were up on the USA Servers, but you have no idea about the other regions. Believe me, the maps change. Stop being drawn into something, you know nothing about. Either buy the game, and see what your complaining about with enlighted eyes, or shut up, and stop bitching about something you don't know about.

Oh, and Blizz isn't preventing you from buying the game, you are.

posted a message on Suggestions for Improving The Popularity System, discuss here!

My suggestion would simply be, keep the pop list for creating games, but for joining just shows games that are currently waiting to be played, in other words if there is more than 0 players in the lobby for it.

Man, I hate when people pull the entitled card. You know what? I -AM- fucking entitled. If I pay 60 bucks for a game, I am ENTITLED to be able to enjoy it and play it as I see fit. It's not blizzard's place to babysit us all, telling us what's inappropriate and keeping us from doing what we want. What made SC and WC3 good was the freedom they gave, SC2 takes all that freedom away, freedom I am ENTITLED to. If they wanted to make the publishing system and popularity system optional, then by all means, implement bullshit restrictions to maintain control. But you can't force me to use these systems AND force your restrictions on me, it's horse shit to the highest degree.

Also, I didn't buy the game because of this shit, if they got their heads out of their collective asses and fixed this shit, I'd buy the game in a heart beat.

Given that you haven't bought the game, your not entitled to anything. This isn't a dig at not buying the game, god knows I've done it in the past, and still do, and will probably do so in the future. But holy shit, you got no right to complain about something you haven't paid for. You get something free, enjoy what ya got, it might be the last time.

posted a message on Map Size limit - possible workarounds ?

Use multiple mod files if you need to use custom assests, it's the only workaround so far. And tbh, probably one of the best ways, as it splits things up, meaning your less likely to break something else when you change something.

    And now for something constructive.

Perhaps keep the pop system for hosting. And have a list displaying hosted maps for joining. Thus, even if you host a map that isn't popular, people can still see it easily, and can join easily.

OK, as I can't see what's wrong, I've took a couple of pics, hopefully someone will figure where I've went wrong.

First pic is Missile Attack actor - Target tab http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/1599/strikerattacktarget.th.png It's just the operations and the launch site that I've changed.
Next is the Missile Attack actor - Evenets http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/8149/strikerattackevent.th.png Just added the effect start stuff
And the Missile attack actor - Attachment http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/1971/strikerattackattachemnt.th.png
And finally Missile attack actor - art http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/4804/strikerattackart.th.png The correct missile has been selected. As an aside note, not sure if it matters or not, but the missile itself is used by 2 weapons, does that make a difference? The other attack actor hasn't been set up to determine where it fires from yet though.

Hopefully those pics help figure out what I'm doing wrong, if needed I have pics of the other sections. That's all for the attack actor though, nothing else has been changed or put in.

Also I had a look at doing the launch site + stuff, but I haven't the faintest idea where it would be, or what it'd be called, I checked for launchsite, and generic launch, but I couldn't find the first, and the second didn't work.

    Got some Implants working, specifically:

Darklight Personal shield Range magnifier Regeneration And Surge.

Audio Amp works as well, but won't detect cloaked units, working on that at the moment.

Will upload a vid to show them off in the next few days, hopefully will be able to fix Audio Amp, and possibly get a couple more implants working.

Still unsure on whether to allow only 1 implant, or 3. Any thoughts? Bare in mind also that the implants arn't unit by unit, rather it's army wide, all troop units have access to the same implant. So, researching say surge, enables all troops for that player to have surge.

posted a message on Cloaked unit on minimap via radar?

I'm creating a behaviour which reveals enemy units on the minimap. I'm wanting it to reveal cloaked units also, but they just won't show up.

I'm currently using just the behaviour, and nothing else, cloaked is allowed. But it still won't show.

Is there any (preferably easy) way to allow the cloaked units to show up on radar without removing the visual cloak?

    Thanks for any help

Presuming that the launch SOP your referring to is the one at the bottom of the target tab on the attack actor, yea, it's set up to the same SOP as the turrets. Unless I've completely missed something, it's only supposed to be that single site op that placed there, right? No more?

I'm having a similar problem to sunyatasattva. But my models are set up correctly (as far as I can tell) Basically I'm using the utility truck model for my unit, which has an origin, centre and overhead. I think it has a target point as well, but that's not important. Obviously it doesn't have many attachement points, so I made 2 new points up for turrets, I want one at the front and one at the back. So far, so good. The turrets appear, they turn, they track, all the cool stuff. For turrets I'm using the Folsom turrets. Now, the problem appears when using the weapons, the projectile fires, and lo an' behold, it's from the unit origin. Now, I have set it up, so that it should be firing from the same point that the turrets are attached to. As I said they're fine. Obviously this isn't working, can you only have 1 thing attached to a point at a time, as in, I need to make new points for the projectiles to launch from?

Still working on it, no full map yet.

several videos of units. Shows off available units, buildings, some abilities, shields and cloaking.

Everything has been built from scratch in the data editor, which is why the Terran Maxes don't have attack anims, and most weapons still currently fire from the base of a unit.

For more info check my sig, it includes links to the team page, recruitment thread, and the videos linked above. The team page includes pics, and descriptions of most things in the game.
