Half of sc2 community streamers using Stronger team color mod for 2 years from game release. Are they banned or warned for using that? No. And Stronger Team Colod mod affects game, making it easy to see. But still, it's popular and some time ago Dastin Browder supported that mod too.
A lot players using custom battle.net backgrounds. Are they banned? It's only interface customization!
Blizzard will react only if you will use something to get advatange over other players, so...
P.S. Fixed all links for 75 percentage transparency
I will not write a lot about what I'm doing in that mod, title of that topic wall say all. Simply mod, that makes Battle.Net UI transparent. I did two variations of transparency - 50% and 75%. But I think, 75% sometimes is more nice, especially if you have custom background with Dropship, that flashes, or Char planet, that makes everything red and adds some of HotS atmosphere.
P.S. It will erase all custom backgrounds. But you can make your custom backgrounds transparent too, just do it in any graphical editor, like Photoshop. Fill custom background with 50% or 75% alpha-channel and you will have exact same result.
In some of latest patches I found Diablo 3 themed decals, that includes Diablo himself decal and 5 classes, that are available in Diablo 3. Maybe they will add those decals for Collectors Edition owners, but using Teliko's information about resource editing and "Stronger team color" way of installing mod, I've decided to create a very small mod, that replaces 3 basic decals with 3 new, Diablo 3 themed.
Now you do not need to edit ingame resources, just out downloaded file into destinated directory!
One issue is that other players will not see those decals, instead, they will see basic decals, that game uses (i.e. Protoss/Terran/Zerg basic decals). And another issue, that if they have basic decals, you will see diablo-decals instead. In other word, everyone with those basic decals after installing mod will see diablo-themed decals.
Installation is very easy. Just prefer, what decals you want (folders will say you, where you can find Diablo/Barbarian/DaemonHunter decals or Monk/WhitchDoctor/Wizard ones)
1) Download http:www.multiupload.nl/FK97B1XICF
2) Open archive and select, what decals you want. In first folder you can find xxXX.sc2assets, that replaces basic decals to Diablo/Barbarian/DaemonHunter decals, second folder replaces basics to Monk/WhitchDoctor/Wizard)
3) Rename xxXX.sc2assets to your localization. enGB, ruRU, enUS, koKR, etc
4) Put renamed file to StarCraft II/Mods/LibertyMulti.sc2mod/..here..
5) Launch game, change your decal to basic and then start ingame match! In rewards menu you will see basic decal, but ingame it will be new.
4) If you already installed this mod, or you have Stronger team color mod, or any other mod, installed via created xxXX.sc2assets, then open that existing xxXX.sc2assets, open downloaded .sc2assets-file and move new texture files from it to old xxXX.sc2assets file. Just drag and drop between two opened MPQ-files. Not hard, do it, like you moving files between two Windows.
Another small customization relates to Zerg creep. In StarCraft 1 it was purple, in SC2 we got grey creep (on some maps it becomes red-brown, depending on light). In SC2: Heart of the Swarm we can see, that the creep is darker, than current WoL creep.
Zerg creep in StarCraft: BroodWar
New Zerg creep mechanic in SC2:HotS and it's difference from current WoL creep. Darker and cooler
Because we can customize zerg creep too, I've decided to create some variations of current creep. First one is more purple and a bit darker. Second, called "dark creep", is closer to HotS creep, and the third one, new variant from me, is fully grey, but with orange effects on it. If you want, post requests here and I can create other creep designs. It's not that hard.
Installing instructions:
1) Select, what creep style you prefer most.
2) Download it, rename downloaded file to enGB, ruRU, enUS, koKR, etc, depending on your game localization
3) Put renamed file to StarCraft II/Mods/LibertyMulti.sc2mod/..here..
4) If you already installed custom decals, or you have Stronger team color mod, or any other mod, installed via created xxXX.sc2assets, then open that existing xxXX.sc2assets, open downloaded .sc2assets-file and move new texture files from it to old xxXX.sc2assets file. Just drag and drop between two opened MPQ-files. Not hard, do it, like you moving files between two Windows.
Very small modification, that replaces Overlord portrait to Overmind portrait for all Zerg buildings. I haven't found way to replace portrait for buildings only, so Overlord unit will be with Overmind portrait too. But when I will find way to replace portrait for Overlord(unit), I'll update this mod.
How to install:
1) Backup your original file, located in Liberty.SC2Mod folder and move backuped copy anywhere you want
\StarCraft II\Mods\Liberty.SC2Mod\enGB.SC2Assets
4) Open archive and drag Assets folder to window with opened enGB.SC2Assets file. Drag that folder, like you moving any file/folder between two windows in OS
Result you can see on the banner above
Regarding Zerg Advisor voice, you can replace it too with same method. Just go to my old thread, that contains a lot voice variations with Zerg advisor voice, including some unique voices, that are similar to Zasz, Daggoth and other zerg advisors, and not only zerg ;)
P.S. Blizzard don't allow file replacements, so there are some small risk. But I don't know about peoples, who got banned, using small modifications, that replaces sounds, models, textures etc. I think, Blizzard prior to ban peoples, who using mods to get some advatange in multiplayer. Here, Overmind can't give you morale boost with +200APM and 200% buffs for all zerg units.
Epic work, I think, this map will be more and more popular soon :) Also, some more bugs:
- replicant can't copy ground units. I wasn't able to copy my probes.
- Tempest: no splash vs air, it atacks only one target. Or it's too small?
- Tempest: is air-to-ground weapon has so small range? Isn't it bigger?
- Tempest should be more faster?
- please delete this funny animation from Shredder and recolor blue aura to orange. That will be enought.
- fix baneling atack in unburrowed mode. They don't have "Atack" button
- burrowed banelings don't get speed bonuses on creep and from Centrifugal Hooks
Because Blizzcon 2011 starts tomorrow, new Xel'Naga unit will be revealed without mysterious silhouettes. Here are preview of new Xal'Naga unit - Mobile Xel'Naga Planetary Tower, that can be captured only by parasites or 10+ your units, standing nearby. It reveals a lot more around, but atacks everything, that stays nearby. At same time, it will move across the map randomly, adding more fun to static gameplay.
- Blizzard agent - Dark Voice
Teliko did great work with Dark models swap for all 3 races, and someone in commentaries posted nice idea to expand this customization into modified building textures, like Dark Protoss. I'm a very big fan of zergs, so I've decided to slighty redesign Zerg buildings from brown-purple to green-grey colors.
Here are 19 voice variations, including 10 Queen's voices in different languages.
Cerebrate Zasz - remember this great cerebrate, that helps us during StarCraft 1 campaign, his creepy and hoarse voice? You can hear him in next 2 videos:
Go to 0:50
Same voice here at 1:23
Cerebrate Daggoth - another voice variation, with less hoarse and more standart bass. Here you got 2 variants, one of them is more bass, than other.
You can hear him at 1:00 mark
Tyranid Hivemind - nice and slow-talking variation of Zerg advisor's voice. I've tried to imitate Tyranid Hive Mind from Dawn of War 2: Retribution campaign. I very like it in DoW2: Retribution.
Izsha & Kerrigan style - maybe it's beta or maybe alpha. I've tried to imitate Izsha voice with Queen's sound effects. Note: all those replises are from voice synthesizer, some of them can be not so smooth. But it's beta and if you like it, then try :)
Izsha's voice - 0:33
Kerrigan's voice
Overmind (located in Overmind Prime folders) - here are different variations of overmind. First - standart Overmind from StarCraft 1, all missing quotes are replaced by other Overmind's replies or unit sounds (like building error or exhausted mineral field/geyser). Also, in folder, called "Overmind Prime (StarCraft 2 style) - RUS" you can find Overmind-voice, that is from SC2 campaign. This overmind voiced by me, including all speech and microphone talking. You can hear it here:
If you want similar voice with english quotes, what I need, it's your help. I have russian accent, so it sounds bad. What I need - your voice, standart man voice, will be great to test some quotes, and if it will sound, like SC2 Overmind after some sound effects, then you will need to voice other advisor's quotes.
Queen - same voice pack, as in previous theme, including 10 languages of Zerg Queen, made by Blizzard localizators in different countries. More info you can find here.
Sounds preview you can find in each folder. Just open any OGG-file in any media player.
Installing is simply and easy. Same as queen's voices in previous topic, here you need to select, what you like more and rename xxXX.sc2assets to your region. As example, you have english game client and US-region. So rename xxXX to enUS.
- English - enUS or enGB
- Russian - ruRU
- Korean - koKR
- Taiwanese- zhTW
- German - deDE
- Italian - itIT
- Polish - plPL
- Spanish - esES
- French - frFR
- Portuguese - ptBR
Will you make fully Hybrid-Zergs? With Hybrid-Hatchery, Hybrid-Overlords, etc ? Will be epic! If you will release that, then you can make simply mpq-file, that can be added to LibertyMulti.sc2mod folder and you will be able to play Hybrid-Zergs via online :)

@ScorpSCII: Go
And someone banned for using that and other similar mods? Link me please to those, who got really banned :)
Blizzards banning firstly players, who REALLY cheating, taking advatange, leaving from team games, trying to reach achievements, etc etc

New update with cool recolored portraits!

Problem is that UI is fully 3D model with textures on it. You can edit it like a m3 file in 3dmax or other 3d editor.

Yes and no at same time. But Blizzard really ban hackers, cheaters and other weird players, who plays with advatanges over other players.

@Mozared: Go
You can use it as advisor sounds in custom maps, but it works also in multiplayer game too, if add this file to sc2 folder.
Added fierce and whispering voice of Tyranid's Hive Mind from DoW2: Retribution. I hope, you will enjoy this voice variation of zerg announcer :)

Same as previous topic about difference Queen's voice in different countries, now I release another voice addons to Zerg advisor, including new and old voices: from overmind and his cerebrates to Izsha styled voice.
1) Download RAR-archive, that are listed above. Scroll down for more mirrors.
http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/0WBJCS0W/
2) In each folder you can find preview OGG-sounds and xxXX.sc2assets file
3) Rename xxXX.sc2assets to enGB.sc2assets, if you have EU-english SC2 client. Same for other clients.
4) Copy (or move) renamed file to next folder:
\ StarCraft II \ Mods \ LibertyMulti.SC2Mod \ ..here..
Thats all :) Hope, you'll like it and someone can help me with voicing SC2-styled Overmind.
P.S. If you have ideas or tips about voice editing, post here :)

when new zerg buildings will be ready, can we install them as small mods to original SC2 (via adding new MPQ archives with new zerg buildings) ?
