    posted a message on Multiple weapons for one unit

    For my map I want to make it so the unit has multiple weapons. But he has to pick it up from the ground. So he walks over it and it switches to that weapon with limited ammo. But the normal weapon is a machine gun with unlimited ammo. How would I go about this?

    On a side note I want the bullets to be kind of like lasers so the player can see where they are aiming, it'll be top down and they have to aim with the mouse, no auto attack. I would also like to know how to make the machine gun not fire in burst, as I've seen marines firing in bursts.

    Sweet. I used ogg when I was skinning and editing the hell out of PSOBB back in the day. I have like 50 full sound changes for that game. I just found some great ones to go with my map.

    Seriously where is the song from. I know it's from the TF2 mod but they must have gotten the music from somewhere. I'm going through all the banjo music I can find to see if it's from there. Hearing all the music it sounds so much like a banjo song. It must be banjo kazooie music. Can't wait till it comes out. Will be fun to play.

    If I wanted to add a weapon to the marine that when selected would make a chainsaw sound and then anyone who got close to him would die from the chain saw if he was facing the direction of the unit. So if he's attacked from behind it won't hurt whoever.

    I'm trying to make a little arena survival type map where you get different weapons. One of the best parts would be a chainsaw. What would I need to do? Would it be possible?

    I played this game called Zombie Apocalypse on the PS3 and it's really fun, although simple. You're stuck in a small arena with a chainsaw and a machine gun. Random weapons pop up here and there, but they're limited on ammo. I'm trying go with a similar concept.

    I know everyone is sick of Zombie arenas, but if I don't get good feedback from it when I'm done I'll just use it as experience.

    posted a message on Looking for a terrain master

    I got these map ideas but I can never implement them because I can't get the terrain set up right. It's always too small or too big. In other games that let me be creative(LittleBigPlanet, Modnation Racers, etc) I would always need my friend to make the map for me, not so much for Modnation since it's pretty simple.

    I've been trying to work, but I just get despaired from continuing because it's not the map I want to work with. For my map it'll be 7 or so small arena type areas. They need some nice effects with lighting. The levels will be dark. Also they need to have some area where the mobs can come in from, so some space around the edges of the arena(thinking of adding reaper ability so they can jump down).

    If anyone wants to help me please PM me. I have some crude drawings of what I want to make but I'm just a horrible terrain artist.

    EDIT:The arenas are different terrain sets. Urban, desert, forest, possibly space platform. Here are what I'm calling the areas in my notes I wrote: City District, Junkyard, Infested City, Park, Gas Station, Power Plant, Forest(not so sure on this though)

    Not exactly terrain master. But anyone who is good with terrain, doodads, cliffs, etc.

    posted a message on Some creative twists for a sort of DOTA style map?

    I like the idea of capturable buildings but not of them adding to your spawn count. Maybe add 3 lanes with them interconnecting where one lane has a spawn that comes from that lane for whoever hold it. I'm not a big fan of the teleporter, I prefer to have an item be used for something like that. I like the idea of the gas, but maybe give a small income of gas for players at their base. Like 1 ever 3 seconds and make the upgrades cost like 15 or something high so that getting the gas buildings are worth it and beneficial.

    For the cannons I think depending on how the lanes are set up there should be towers. I know the dota map right now it's just biding your time before you take out the towers. I think for the map size it's too few. Maybe more variety in the towers.

    All this information I'm saying comes from my experience with the Dota map on SC2 and from Demigod experience, use to be crazy about it.

    DON'T STEAL(BUT SIMILAR MAPS HAVE BEEN DONE)

    A zombie arena type map. Small area where you must live through zombie onslaught and you keep fighting day(rounds) after day. Each day is a different area to battle zombies. As you get farther up in days weapons will start to spawn, with limited ammo. There will be other civilians out there that you can protect for bonus points. No leveling up, no upgrades, no auto attack. To move you use wsad and to aim and fire you use the left mouse button, the character will face whichever way the pointer is pointing and fire in that way.

    Character choices are a marine, medic, and a few others(need human like soldier looking guys) Character makes no difference. Can be played with other players.

    Been working on it for a while. Just can't get the terrain the way I like it, it's probably good but I'm too nit picky.

    Thanks. I was using the ability cost because the first two buildings I used worked perfectly by setting the ability cost. Now I can get back on track with messing with the actual buildings now.
