Yeah I feel ya man. I think the main problem is. We need to know, what dependencies are used when creating the map to start. I've learned the hard way not with this tutorial, but another one elsewhere. But I agree, some explanation would be nice about what you are changing and why. But Not all of it, because there are other tutorials with that information in them that you should learn first before doing something advanced like this. I tend to follow along like I'm given that "fish" and understand what I can. But rather then having someone teach me to "fish" I explore the things I do not understand and fish them out essentially teaching my self the things I do not understand. The Information is all over this site, youtube, as well as other sites. Somethings are just hard to come by though so for those I do agree some explanation would be wonderful.

Still, another great tutorial, maybe there should be one that's a entry level with a very basic site ops, then bust out the big guns like this one, so people do have a better understanding of whats changing and why. Kind of like your beams tutorials, One very basic lots of notation, then the advanced one where you don't explain all the tiny things. But I love ProzaicMuze tutorials, they are straight to the point, if you need help hes always here to answer your questions the best he can, odds are people already asked your question and the answer is down in the replies. And there is many resources out there to help better understand what you are doing

    cheers

posted a message on [Trigger, Beginner] Variables, Arrays, Constants, "If" statements and Functions.

Thank you for such a easy going/easy to understand tutorial! My problem is, I had not used this type of math sequences in like... 11 years lol. So when it came down to Integers reals, and all them goodies, I had been lost in other tutorials from the many years of not having to use that type of stuff.

Back in high school honors math. The teachers said you would be using this stuff out in the real world... and i blew that off like yea if you were an physicist with mind boggling calculations. or a rocket scientist. Turns our I got into a passion for meteorology as I took my passion for surfing much more serious and Well the teacher came back to bite my arse on a few things in the past 11 years LOL. So I needed that refresher for my mind to remember some intermediate math basics, since I do not deal with that on an day to day basis, working two jobs home remodeling/Design/contractor and part time custom computer and network design. There is only a couple of things still left for me to understand how it works, but a quick scan over them ill figure that out no problem. Thanks again!

EDIT: DOH DOH DOH! I got home today took a look for 2seconds, I feel dumb as hell lol, basic math true, I just couldnt see how it came through the variables.

@Nebula99 the first trigger sets the playersnumber to = 5 in the math variable it sets the global to 2 - 7 which = -5 the function then takes the player number local variable which is 0 and adds the global and then + 1, the function also ask if the player number is equal to 1 to give that player the unit, back at the map init it says player gets unit, which is the function you made, and then you place the local variable which is set to 5 so essentially your just doing -5 + 5 = 0 + 1 = 1.. player 1 :) I am not sharp on explaining these kind of things as posted though the function can call information from triggers

Thanks for the shorty tutorial, I learned how to do this in another tutorial , but its always nice to learn others ways, like how you can make it appear by and event (somethings I just don't think of, but i see many reasons to use this!), and this one was actually an easier set up then the tutorial I was doing for a game mode.

With all the helpful resources and great tutorials by you guys creating/donating tutorials, sc2mapster works like GangBustas! :)

    thnx again!

posted a message on [Terrain] Creating Custom Molded Cliffs, Ramps and Multi-Level Water (video)

Absolutely stunning bro. I figured this could be done though I had not attempted to do custom cliffs yet. I know how some of it is done, but about 25% that I didn't even think of or would have a hard time with out it being explained was very helpful. It looks awesome! Thnx for the info I needed to know!

posted a message on [Triggers] Leaderboard Tutorial

Man, wonderful tutorial bro. I'm not new to mapping for RTS games, As for making multiplayer skirmish/melee style maps I mean. I had never done many of the things like the galaxy editor and the war3 editor can do. Like making custom game types and all the greatness blizzard gives us to be creative. So I am learning a heck of a lot and have the drive to learn as much as possible Since I am down with a back injury and have literally ALL DAY with NOTHING to do haha. I was watching a video tutorial on how to make a Zerg Invasion Map by OneTwo or what ever his screen name is, his tutorials are listed here in the index, he did a great job until he got to the leader board and started making a bunch of confusing mix ups and once he realized it he would go back and frantically try to fix them to be in the 10 minute time period for youtube. and wew it threw me off for a couple of days. The I found your simple, plain English written right there on the website tutorial instead of a video one. Come to find out OneTwo was doing so much stuff manually. I mean he was working with the beta editor, and i know there have been changes. But he got me lost on that, and you saved the day! Im not saying though OneTwo does bad tutorials, his a great for video tuts, but just the one spot in his tutorial video threw me off so bad! But I am thankful, and thank you for your short and sweet guide ;)

    ScADoO!
