Not to diss your work (in fact, it looks quite fine, I'd definitely use it in my map), but Zelda does have a point - you're saying most of the model is custom, but it looks hell a lot like the walking platform from Immortals... What's up with that?
well, in fact Immortals is in the Lore actually upgraded version of remaining Dragoons, so adding aditional armor, and cannons to the default dragoon walking platform is somehow making sense.
Though i want to see the walking in action, and see if they move like the Dragoons from SC1 or more "refined"... or just a immortal movement.
meh, my laptop didnt save the underwater base of that picture, so i cannot do further fixes to it, but i will try to work out the other one when i get back.
Also pretty good uni, at least you got the light through water effect, where i just skipped that part and made it deep water.
Perhaps you could make the thickness of its legs 1.3 or 1.5 its current size so it doesnt seems so... yeah...
however its quite a cool looking zerg indeed, however what kind of role does it have one might think... Anti-Defense Siege insect with a love for tanks and stationary defenses ?
The first picture is a bit hard to see the details. The second one looks quite nice with the lights and glowing crystals.
yeah, i had slept for like 5 hours and just woke up at that point and just messed around the light settings, as you might see, what i made there looked clear to me when i was fogged off, and i think i forgot to set the settings to ultra as i mixed the lights... so it became very messed up...
i am still annoyed i cant really get the underwater feel i want yet.... but i dont really have time for it before later this week.
Starting to get very rusty, but i gave it a try, with some sleep still in my eyes and about 10 min of messing around.
Too bad i didnt have time to figure out more for now, but i still have time right?
edit:
added a 2nd picture i made on my laptop instead with a Underwater base setting instead
i dont know if they added lightning filters on regions, if so you could try to make a red tune to it and make the lights perhaps a little less effective?
Yeah, I tried to mess around with it, have almost no global lighting, but that meant I had to use a bit too many Omnilights in order to make stuff visible at all, could probably get a better result if I used a dimmed down global light instead...
Useally i just put in doodads with lights and then make em brighter, i did that to my previous stuff
Inferno: quite awsome, i think i can get the lights to do the same myself, but i would love to hear how you did it.
Gurrgel: the bar seems kinda bright, if you managed to switch off the lights and make it more of a night-club feel to it and it would be perfect, the start is quite good.
Lightning is a very importain part of the maps so try to mix around with it.
I really should get back to terraining but i havent had the time after my last accident.
Yeah, lighting is something I need work on. Part of the problem with that pic is that I had to use lighting to make the "sand" look like "snow". What I wanted to do was to have a sunset look but then I lost the snow :( ? Why is there no snow blizzard :( ?
Check the links in the first post, it have a few tips regarding snow

Most of mountain terrain works looks really unnatural as far as I have seen. Hope we can learn something decent from this training
Well. blizzard havent really made it easy to make realistic mountain ranges i am afraid... otherwise i dont really know the trick how to except just raising the ground :P
Too bad Blizzard dont really have a whole campaign model of her, i believe there is a full Mensk model somewhere in the files if anyone saw the "Making of SC2" DVD, so it might be for her aswell. (Shrugs)
Anyway, using that artwork someone with a bit skills in 3d modelling could come up with something, or just use the base of a Dranei from WoW, but i think it might be easier to just do the whole skeleton from scratch instead of removing half the model.
note: only coming with suggestions here, as i suck in 3d modelling myself :(

2 Questions:
1: How do you make the roof of the dungeon?
2: The lightning change effects is region based or trigger based?

May it be possible to choose other "skins" than a SCV ? I would love to see a Drone desperatly trying to avoid this :D
or a "SCVs revenge mode" where you are the baneling against lots of falling SCVs :D
