    @Diablito816: Go

    That's real tight Diablito. If you need testers I'm definitely interested. I agree I liked the maps where regular army units played a big part too, but unfortunately i never really found that many lotrish maps out like that haha

    Word TrainWreck03. A LotR map in SC Brood War was this: You choose a nation of middle-earth and went to war. It was very similar to regular SC in the way you won except besides killing all their units/bases you just had to kill either specific buildings or units. I'll use Gondor as an example of a nation. Gondor's main capitol is Minas Tirith. Its other provinces were Osgiliath, Dol Amroth, Pelargir, etc. Capitols and Provinces spawn units on a timer. You built "castles" (most often academis, hatcheries, and nexus (nexi? lol)) to spawn better units. Each province have specific heroes or hero who ruled it. In SC BW they were jacked up hero units in the campaign editor. I mean jacked up like did 1000-3000 dmg depending the unit. You used these units to strategically take out provinces/spawns. Could do that simply by rushing it(heroes had incredible amounts of health and armor so they could take hits from defensive structures that did 1000 dmg easily), setting up defiler clouds to cover them from towers/ranged heroes, and psi disruptor to take out defenses to make a rush easier. There were probably other ways too but those are what i remember the most. To make moving of huge armies easier and massing them easier there usually were 2 arbitors per team that could free recall. Of course there were differences in each LotR map. Some maps had automated battle triggers which would set up a battle that took place in the book (i.e. Helm's Deep, Pelennor Fields, Unnumbered Tears, etc) and they played in order on a timer.

    If i missed anything it was probably a more specific detail of these maps, but that wall of text (CRITICAL HIT) pretty much summed those maps up. I really enjoyed them and the strategies in them.

    Oh i wasn't talking about importing WC3 units to make a LotR map. Was talking about making one similar to the LotR maps back during SC Brood War. Thanks for the reply. Personally I didn't really enjoy the WC3 LotR maps besides the helms deep and minas tirith ones. I'm working on figuring out how to make elaborate but playable terrain on the SC2 editor now so hopefully in a few weeks I can have an outline of map terrain then slowly learn triggers units data etc on this new SC2 editor and make a simple but fun LotR base map

    LotR stands for Lord of the Rings btw if you didn't know. These maps were pretty damn fun back in the day when there were a good number out. Curious to see if anyone is interested in those types of map for SC2 or if there are any threads that relate to those type of maps. I'm talking like the SC1 styles with a few hero units that were jacked up. You had to OP bases and defend those OPs. Some of my favorite back in the day were first age maps and 2nd age maps with awesome terrain that matched the actual LotR maps. I think a Helm's Deep map or a Pelennor Fields battle map would be cool as well as other LotR battles remade as custom maps.
