It may seem like a lot of luck, but think about card counting in other card games like poker. Statistics matter. I dont know the exact rules for hearthstone, but WoW TCG like most required a 60 card deck and you could only have up to 4 of the same card, which means you were almost guaranteed one of the card in the first 8 turns, if you don't draw any extra cards (And if you don't draw any extra cards, chances are you set up your deck really badly). You get the option to shuffle your hand back into the deck once, so there's a really high chance you can get that one card on your first turn.

You'll never really depend on that one card - Unless its one that's really expensive in which case its ok that it comes late since you can't use it early. You'll always have alternatives, something you can use. Yea, if you're at one health and hoping for a heal, that'll depend on luck, but if you got there in the first place you already were doing something wrong/badly (Either in the actual match or in deck building), so it's kind of the equivalent of hoping your opponent won't notice that drop/nydus worm until it's too late.

There's definitely a bit more luck involved than in sc2 or so, but a good amount of skill will be there as well, part of it coming in in deck building - You want to eliminate as many of the luck factors as possible there. The better you do your job the less you rely on sheer luck.

As for pay2win - From what I saw you can pay $1 for a pack of cards (5 I think?) But that pack can be bought with an ingame currency as well. Seeing as you can't pick what cards you get, it doesn't really seem like "pay 2 win". You'll have more cards to pick from and will have an easier time to get them all, but you can do the same by just playing the game.

I do hope card trading will be in there (Or, to make it simpler, card selling/buying for whatever the ingame currency is (And no real money auction house. This isn't a PvE game, and RMAH would practically turn it into pay2win))

about the card trading.. they say its a collectible card game.. not a trading card game so ye no card trading for sure.. i've played lot of games like this and they doint have card trading cause what keeps you playing is trying to have all the cards ad trying to get this one card.. and you need to keep playing to get more packs.. if you add card trading it would make it super ez

why not do it in facebook/tweets to get the game hype, have activision Re-Tweet some things about it since activision/blizzard is the parent company now.

This game isn't going to do well, the beta... they ruined it with the beta :P they had a chance to get players hyped there, but they NEEDED Blizz Allstars, and 1-2 missions from the campaign. Hell Dustin Browder said the game was finished, but they had to make Sc2 ready for it... -_-, does that not sound more like "We are waiting until we can make more money off of it"
