Lack of content item, hero, and skill compatibility wise. All heroes can practically use the same items and it'll be fine. Basicially it needs a lot of work over a large time period. I'd rather dota, but I'd rather dota on a new engine if anything.
Just add to an integer everytime a specific unit is created, and subtract everytime a specific unit dies, then show that value with a label/button on a dialog. That's the simpliest way I believe.
Too bad they didn't have the finished plasma battlecruiser in there, I remember seeing a finished battlecruiser with plasma torpedo in the beta website a year back.
I like how that ending completely ignored the already known existance of the xel naga and how they're totally gonna own everyone... so.... i'ma go with fake but nice anyways
So I have a pop up turret attached to my battleship, got some nice weapon effects visuals going. The problem I'm having is how to turn the turret model that I have attached? I got the events/actors stuff down for it to animation when I attack, but I just can't figure out how to rotate the turret according to where it's shooting, like a siege tank turret.
Tried that already, definitely wasn't the lightings fault. Changing the material type somehow fixed it so I'm just settling for having the inside walls as a seperate model to use a seperate texture. Gonna have to figure out how blizzard can have different textures on a model depending on the texture set.
I was trying out modeling and made a house and textured it. It looks fine and nice in 3ds but once placed into galaxy, it gets messed up. What was the problem??
I don't disagree with valve's action for making an exact match of wc3 dota. HoN and LoL didn't deliever that much because of the changes they made were too much and these changes were dota's core. Of course dota needs a graphical upgrade, but HoN and LoL made it overly eyecandy and pretty in the wrong way. Much of the competitive groups of Dota bashes on HoN and LoL because they took away the elements that was suppsoed to be dota. If icefrog and valve made a complete remake of Dota, they would be able to migrate the huge playerbase of wc3 dota to their game. Lol and Hon downsized the competitivesness overall like no deny and ally's hero status on screen for the less competitive. These changes were really disliked or marked as lazy or people with no awareness in leagues.
Icefrog actually takes the community ideas in full consideration and bug fix response of 2-3 days of map releases. With him supporting, I'm pretty sure valve dota will be able to increase it's playerbase to the less competitive after the initial remake.
From what I read from that article, this game seems mostly runned by the community, like dota is
Subforums for the tutorial section: Dialogs, data, triggering, general mapping(setting up lobby/teams), terrain, modeling, etc. The 19 pages of tutorials doesn't help people find what they need. Especially small threads that hold nice information, but they only consist of several lines of words. These could go into one thread of Tips Of The Trade with table of contents.

Works with strafing attacking units? or do they feel the need to regroup almost immediately when they go into attacking pattern.

It's the target sort Random I believe. Just simply add a weapon to the unit by trigger that targets randomly, easy pheonix fire.

Lol blizzard's being stupid again... this isn't a solution, just like temp banning any1 who said meow on wc3 chat channels due to spam of that word.
