Quick question guys, how or what are you using to take these screenshots? Like, without the UI and everything.

    Is it in the editor?

posted a message on Need help with disappearing and invalid assets.

Ok so I wanted to make a scenic tour type map but I've already run into a problem.

I've made a 256x256 map and added the campaign dependencies to use the assets. First, I placed a crashing debris doodad ignoring placement requirements outside of the map boundary. And second I placed a vulture for player 1 so I could look at my work in the actual game.

However, once I saved, and re-opened my map, it said that the crashing debris doodad was invalid and leaves a little white ball where it was previously showing the crashing animation for the debris. My vulture is still 'there' but it doesn't show up. And last but not least, I'm missing campaign assets now because when I search for the crashing doodad it no longer turns up any results.

Does anyone know what is happening?

Edit: I deleted a couple of dependencies and the units showed up again. What is going on here?

Uh well, could you bother answering the question anyway? Did you or Did you NOT lock your map? Because if you didn't even bother locking your map you don't have a right to complain, you should have seen it a mile away that ANY joe could open your map and mess with it as they wanted.

Yes OP... this did this so they could look like they actually care, it's why they put their representatives on the line with it and allowed them to get harassed to the point where Bashiok had to disconnect his phone line.

posted a message on Question about unit attachments from different players.

Alright, so I had this idea about a map where a player would "drive" a vehicle around while a different player would sit on that vehicle while maintaining control and being able to shoot things.

So I'm wondering, is it possible? To have 2 different players attach units and still have them each remain control of their respective units? Say Player 1 is driving a siege tank while player 2 is attached to the siege tank with his marine, and using his marine he casts varying skill shot abilities into a horde of zombies chasing them.

    Thanks.

Actually it was less than 1MB. It was 666KB (actually indicated by a force name) but still about 3 or 4 times larger than most. It was very much a private game favorite.

Ah I see, I must have gotten it confused with Alone in the Dark 4 then which was probably around the 4-5 MB filesize then? They were both epic maps. Been a long time.

Rush was also great, and I think if my memory isn't wrong this time that map was a whopping 11 MB due to all the sounds and such.

That map was great man, I loved it. It had such great atmosphere and was one of my fav maps in SC1. Haha too bad it was like 4 MB and took forever on b.net for anyone to DL. (Although there's Alone in the Dark 4 which was like 9 MB or so...). Awesome, it's cool to see that you're continuing with SC2.

I definitely reckon they will at least add bridges that connect cliffs and can be walked upon. Warcraft 3 had this support, why wouldn't Starcraft?

Well yeah, I think they'll do that too.

I meant true bridges. Bridges that can be walked underneath and at the same time be walked over.

Also, does anyone know why Blizzard opted to only have 4 tiers of Terrain when WC3 had 16?

Probably we have to wait for the blizzard bridges at the release to see how it works.

However, I did like told in the tut and saved the map in the data editor. My bridge shows up and aligns to cliffs...

Unfortunately I don't think Blizzard is adding bridges. Or else, why wouldn't they already have them? I think they're excluding them because of the complications of having ground units being able to walk over and under each other.

Sholdak, that looks sweet, but can units actually go across and under the bridge at the same time?

Actually, I was just referring to a new unopened edition of the SNES version.

Buying used copies or newer versions totally slipped my mind.

lol in your vid you say to go buy CT if you haven't played it before.

I just want to mention that buying CT will probably run you in the high hundreds of dollars to a thousand. Since you know... they don't make the game anymore (and you have to get it off ebay).

That looks neat man. One thing I'm wondering. Did you put in the Immortal guy at the start of the trailer using the editor only? Or did you use a video editing software to do that?

Also, how come you added flames to the dropship? Don't they already have a flame as part of their animation? Or did you just want to make it bigger?

I'm just curious to know if you're going to release a movie watchable by opening up in SC2 or if it's going to be a movie posted on youtube with editing software modifications.

Just curious, are you the same (U) Bolt_Head (I think that was his name) that made the epic House of the Haunted map on SC1?
