Will workers and structures also switch? If so, then I foresee long, drawn-out games that only end when a player leaves in annoyance. If not, then the switched units will proceed to demolish the base that produced them (especially Terrans using defensive Siege Tanks). Either way, I don't see this being much fun.
anyway, im a bit shocked how long it takes to set up a single item:
- create a button for description
- create the item itself for the class
- create the buff for the item effect
- create a unit for the item
- create an actor for the unit
...
all this has to be done for EVERY item. so just imagine how long it would take to create a big map with 100s of item in it oO
i was already annoyed in the wc3 editor because you always had to create a new ability for every single item (i was always wondering why its not possible to define the item effect directly). and now in the GE you have 4 times more work like bevore?! this is unaccaptable imo.
i think it could be faster to script own items via triggers.
Here's a random thought: If anyone knows the structure of an SC2 map, I could probably make PHP scripts (lul) that allow you to upload a map, specify tasks that you want done (eg. define 100s of items), and then download a copy of the map with those things done. It'll take a while but would be worth it.
Well, if the only female characters are military people, then I'll still need someone to edit them, and editing that Rebel unit or something would probably be easier because it's just messing with the chest a bit (and maybe some clothing changes - idk) instead of removing all of the model's armor and weapons.
I know C++, JavaScript, PHP, and a few other languages (Inform 7, TI-BASIC, Java). MSN me ([email protected]) if you want.
Also, C++ is a lot easier to use than C (according to my dad, who has used both).
Oh... I had thought that they had said that they gave us all the campaign units in patch 16... Dunno where I heard that. >.> Anyway, I guess that works (though I'll still need a female version, unless one is included).
I am unable to locate that model in any patch... Could you possibly toss a copy my way (along with its texture files)?
(And I'd still like a female version, if someone could make such a model.)
Can someone make me an unarmed version of the Ghost (with no gun, backpack, or eye thingy)? A female version would also be nice (maybe in a skirt, if possible - but I have no idea how hard that would be). If you prefer, you could modify the Marine instead, but I'd think that that would be a lot harder because of the armor.
If I'm understanding you right, the easiest way to do this would be to put a "Show" requirement for the button that evaluates to true only when the ability is not learned, and put the passive button behind the learning button.

I hope you're going to credit Mini Moose 2707 in the final release.

Changed my MSN name (and email) to [email protected].
I'm probably going to go with a project I was asked about by email, so this can be locked, I guess. Anyone else who wants my help, MSN or PM.
