    If you look at the Brood Lord, it uses an external magazine to hold up to two Broodlings. If the Brood Lord rotates, the Broodlings move to stay in the same relative position, but they don't do so instantly. This looks good for the organic Brood Lord, but a lot less good for a mechanical air unit which uses an external magazine to represent modules attached to it. Everything else works fine, but I need to get rid of this "lag". Any advice? I'm probably just missing something really obvious.

    Perhaps at some point! It is a good idea. Anyway unless someone can tweak that model as I mentioned I'll go with a first-person camera.

    @TheAlmaity: Thanks for the offer, but I could do that myself, I think. But unfortunately the issues are with the model itself. The first issue is that there's some kind of decoration around the back of her neck that needs to go away. You can see it in this screenshot: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/62133198/issue.png The other issue is that her walk animation is a bit bugged, and her run animation a bit more bugged; her skirt stretches in a weird way in both of them. I can work around the animation issues I think, but that neck thing looks too odd imo.

    EDIT: It occurs to me that I could just use a first-person camera... >.>

    ...You know, this really isn't funny. >.> That being said one of the models SouLCarveRR linked will work fairly well. She doesn't look like my concept but is almost close enough... If there's a person who can make minor edits to a model, speak up please!

    EDIT: As in, she's not what I had in mind, but will work anyway.

    Ugh, okay, fine, I'll explain here. But first I just want to ask: If I was looking for something sexy, why would I come to a StarCraft site and ask for something that's, well, not terribly sexy? >.> Seriously. (And @Mozared: I wanted to send PMs because I didn't want to give away the project too much, but I guess I'm going to. :( )

    Anyway, of late I've been having some interesting dreams and also been wanting to do a machinima project. A friend suggested combining the two and making a machinima about said dreams. (Something especially interesting is that they're roughly continuous, with one picking up where the previous one left off, though there are always a few real-life days between them, and they do run on dream logic.) The dreams are about this young woman matching the given description (which is where the description came from in the first place), who appears to be the only person on the planet. It appears to be somewhat in the future, or something, because there are some futuristic devices, and some other things that just don't make a whole lot of sense. She doesn't know where everyone went nor where the weird machines came from, and is trying to find out. There are various records, ranging from books to holographic recordings, usually in places one would expect them, like libraries. My/her goal is to figure out what happened to everyone and so on. So far she has found some interesting things, but I'm not going to say what they are yet because I don't want to give away everything. Now, this is rather a minimalist idea, yes, but I'm sure I can pull off at least a few episodes.

    Now was that really that strange after all?

    EDIT: Someone has suggested an alternative to this, which almost works but needs a bit of tweaking. They found a model which, though not what I originally had in mind, will work for this, but has a weird neck decoration that needs to be removed. I'd still like what I originally asked for, but I'd be more than fine if someone could do that instead.

    I have kind of an odd request here, and I'd rather not explain why it's needed, simply because it would take too long. (EDIT: Though I ended up explaining later on in this thread. ) I have found myself in need of a high-ish quality model of a young woman (20 years old). At present, I'm using Hanson's model as a placeholder, but she doesn't really cut it... I would use the female Civilian model but that model's too low quality for my needs, unfortunately, and besides doesn't look like what I have in mind at all. The model will be used in a couple cinematics, but there will only ever be one on-screen, so poly count isn't an issue.

    Appearance-wise, the character is about 20 years old and Caucasian. She wears a blue pleated skirt and a light red shirt. (I told you this was an odd request! Though I've heard that skirts are hard to animate, so this can be changed if needed.) Animation-wise, she'll need walk and stand animations, and animations for running, sitting, jumping, and so on would certainly be nice. She does not need things like attack animations.

    ...I am aware that this might sound creepy, especially given the lack of detail. >.> My apologies for that; as I said, if you're curious, PM me. Also, I know nothing about modeling, so if this is unreasonable to ask for, let me know.

Anyway, I saw some things like this, which would be great for something I have in mind, but I don't know how to, well, do it. I don't need an in-depth tutorial, just some general pointers.

    Homestuck: An epic tale of kids, video games, the end of the world, aliens, time travel, the end of the world, aliens, paradoxes, clones, clones created via paradox, cats, giant frogs, and the end of the world. And, in the hopefully-near future, a MOBA game! (Aka an "AoS" or a DOTA-like game.)

    A while ago, some of us had the idea to create a MOBA game with the Homestuck characters as the hero units. Nothing ever really came of it; we had some of the heroes concepted and a bit of data work done, but it fell apart, which is my fault as much as anyone else's. But now BlastYoBoots, alias bladekindEyewear, JambroniJim, and I are making it happen. And hopefully you will be too! This is a recruitment thread, after all.

    So far, I'm onboard, obviously, as our data editor, and Jim is going to do terrain. BYB will be organizing/developing hero concepts once he stops being sick, though we're all helping with that, ofc. Our biggest need right now is modelers! It would really be sad if John had to be a Zealot or something. Otherwise, people who can come up with good hero concepts or are just good at game design are also needed.     I think he'd want an Effect-Instant, if I read the OP right, but that would work. (I think he wanted it to target the caster.)

    @OP: You could also try a Train ability with Kill On Complete and Select checked and a build time of 0, I think. The advantage if this is that the player doesn't lose selection. (If you use a train ability, you don't need to edit the actor, afaik.)

    Try creating the building with a build ability. The easiest way would be copying the Nydus Network's ability to make Nydus Worms, change it to build the building Command Center, lower the range, and uncheck Worker Maintained.
