I agree with a lot of things said in this thread. The gaming business as a whole has kind of lost its soul, and finding games that are worth the time just seems to get harder and harder...especially RPGs. My favorite games are some of the old-school RPGs like FF7 and FF8, Chrono Cross, Legend of Mana.... You just don't see games like those very often anymore. However, Persona 4 is probably the most recent RPG that I genuinely enjoyed, and that's only a few years old.
Customers shouldn't be the ones to pay for what was broken in the first place, and having to pay to revert to a system that is several years old is simply ridiculous.
Of course I'd buy the expansion, but that's only for the assets / campaign.
" The license granted to you in Section 1 above is subject to the limitations set forth in Sections 1 and 2 (collectively, the “License Limitations”). Reminds me of Suikoden. Sounds like a good idea on paper, and I think it could be a neat game if implemented well.
Custom models to make it medieval would be nice, but I understand that's too much of a workload for a one-person project, if that's what it's going to be.

I've had the idea, but I've always thought Blizzard would probably be secretly planning to make something like it themselves in Starcraft 2.

A "turn-based" multi-player RPG that uses an action bar (similar to Chrono Trigger's) that lets the player choose their action when it fills up.

Super Metroid intro in Starcraft 2! An idea I had when I was messing around with different ideas for a project.

I believe you do need a college e-mail address to have a student license for Autodesk.
That's how I'm using 3DS Max.

I was thinking about submitting something, but Kueken and Borg's submissions just make everything else pale in comparison....
Plus I hate trying to use the data editor.

Decent video-editing, but lacking almost any kind of gameplay...as you are probably aware. So, can't give any real feedback at this time.

Where's the "zero" option?

If I remember correctly, the only decent custom maps came some time after The Frozen Throne expansion.

I'm glad this was revived by the author, and not some random comment....
Anyway, I like the "Sanity" concept, it sounds neat and quite original.

Yes, illegal. No surprise there, though.

I think "RPG" is a bit misleading. Sounds more like just a hero defense.

Needs a video of the end result, I think.

I've been playing Disgaea: Hour of Darkness and Suikoden V. They've consumed about 50 hours (combined) of my time thus far.
Those aren't quite "modern", however.
