    posted a message on Dialog/Button color

    SC2 assigns a random color to all dialog backgrounds (and buttons) that a player sees. Is there any way to set what that color is?

    Unfortunately, simply setting the dialog item color doesn't fix this. It only adds the color. For example, if the dialog is blue, and I set it to white, its blue. If its blue, and I set it to yellow, its green(-ish). Black works, because... well, its black.

    Anyone know how to get to the root color of the dialog boxes? I just want them pure white.

    Does it have anything to do with race?

    posted a message on Multiplay -- Map has horrible stutter

    @senatorsfc: Go

    Despite everyone's suggestions (which certainly may help reduce the lag and likelihood of dropping) this issue is a battle.net issue that affects custom and ladder maps, for which there is no current fix. You should report what is happening on the battle.net bug report forum. Check the bug report forum for posts on dropping. There are at least 2 posts where blues have requested information about the dropping events so that they can find out what happened, and the reports are split about half and half with custom and ladder matches.

    My map had this problem, and I tried the "wait for key" fix, and now the dropping happens to 1 player every 10th game instead of every player every game.

    Good luck, and remember to report.

    posted a message on Map is dropping players... why?

    @Acemore: Go

    Although this solution may reduce the likelihood of drops and lag, the problem is not specific to custom maps. There is a thread on the sc2 beta bug report forum where a blue has requested the player id and time of games where they were dropped, which include custom and normal games.

    Well, thank goodness. I was about to give up all together. I mean... not that I'm happy its happening to you... but it sure is better that its a Bnet problem than a map problem.... I couldn't see anything wrong. 0.o

    posted a message on Map is dropping players... why?

    Hey guys, my map is dropping players on battle.net. I have no idea why. It was working yesterday. I made a few adjustments to some units, none of which seem very big to me.

    I'd say its the patch, but other maps don't seem to be doing the same thing.

    Anyone have ideas?

    Testing in map editor, there is no lag.

    Testing on Bnet, there is a skip every 3-4 seconds and after about 5 minutes, players start dropping.

    Help, please :P

    Zow auwowow....<electricity flowing>... Zowow <teleportation rays making noises> zowow.

    The only sound I don't like in the future is the one where the server tells me that me and my patched game don't belong. It sounds like I broke a law and deserve to be encased in metal forever.

    No patch notes yet... but my game is patching :)

    I don't think the servers have even patched. Says my patched version isn't recognized by the servers when I log in :P

    The nuke effects have been renamed. Go to the nuke ability and other stuff, and make sure you have the appropriate persistent and detonate effects.

    posted a message on 3 Questions.

    @Petoj87: Go

    1) Lobbies are messed up (thanks blizzard for getting right on that.................... uh... blizzard?), so what you have to do right now is set an initialization trigger that manually forces the players onto teams. The player number will be the order the player entered the lobby. This sucks because some maps require rather specific team setups, especially when all players aren't playing. However, by setting up start points and by setting alliances, almost anything can be worked around.

    2) Yes, the texture is missing. Many maps have this problem. My understanding is that this'll be fixed on the 27th.

    3) No idea. Some people brought old maps into starcraft through a contrived mechanism (rather than simply recreating them).... maybe it was that.

    4) Blizzard is doing maintenance today. Stuff is messed up during maintenance. If you were logged in before maintenance started, this could be your problem. But if you weren't.... I don't even know how you got that far.

    posted a message on How does map popularity actually work?

    @progammer: Go

    There's a bar to the right of the map on the popularity list. Hover your mouse over it and it says how many games per hour it has.

    My experience: I started a game, it went to 1. I played a game with others, it went to 2. It went to 4 without me seeing how (like 3 hours later). I played another game with a full crew and the game stayed at 4.

    posted a message on Map testing group, anyone?

    As I ponder the best way to get a map tested, I feel that it is very likely that others are stumped in a similar way. How would people feel about joining together in an SC2mapster team designed for advertising and testing maps?

    If there were such a group that tested each others' maps together, would anyone be interested in joining it?
