    I have this exact same problem. Players can't pick an empty spot and then start the game as that player. (or have a 2 player game where player 2 is player 3 in the map, even if the switch spots in the lobby.)

    There is a guide going around that is well written, but simply does not address the problem. I know how to make the lobby look right... it just doesn't transfer the information into the game properly.

    It is possible that I've set the lobby up wrong, but I believe I've done it right. So, what I'm about to ask, I believe is broken. However, if you know what might cause the problem, I'd love to know:

    Lobby players aren't transferred to the game properly. For example, if player 2 is moved to player 4, he is still player 2 in game, even if people join after him and fill up the spots (but it would be nice if it worked, imho, even when nobody else joins, so you can do a 1v1 game).

    Ok, first thing:

    The majority of your trigger looks like you copied and pasted it over and over, which could be handled better by some kind of loop. Use pick each integer statement to loop this stuff.

    Kinda like this:

    pick each integer from 1 to 4

    actions -> Do a bunch of crazy stuff and wait 1 second

    When I set the option in file>preferences to "Faster save times" instead of "smaller saves" (or whatever exactly they say), the map seems to load faster. Is this really true, or is it simply my imagination?

    Has anyone else noticed this?

    If its true, then for all maps that can meet the file size quotient, they should save them as faster saves, don't you think?

    1) This map is really great.

    2) The maker of a map deserves credit, even if it isn't really great.

    3) Rude posts (by everyone) are best kept on some other forum. SC2mapster has a different kind of forum/community.

    4) I will never play a map that I know was stolen, no matter how good it is, so long as the author has the intention of releasing it.

    I'm curious if the custom map number hasn't gone up. I'd be interested in uploading my map, but I'd like to have my name on the select screen. I think the feeling is probably similar to many map makers. Is this something that should be brought to Blizzard's attention?

    The only way I can see this (uploading with full original author credit) happening is if every map maker buys a copy of the game in every region... and that's not happening. Why wouldn't custom maps be uploaded to all regions, anyway? They ought to at least transfer the top 50 or so most popular maps... I mean... most maps aren't very big.

    My brother and I are working on a remake of Culdcept (monopoly meets a trading card game).

    The custom picture that is on each card takes up about 60kb. That means, including the terrain, we can only make about 120 or so unique cards. The real game has about 500. And that is the absolute maximum possible size. If we wanted to throw in custom music, 500 cards with unique pictures, unique models.... We could easily, easily easily hit 20mb on this one map.

    Lets say blizzard let everyone publish up to 50 mb instead of 20, and they had no map restrictions.... or even if they had no map restrictions on 1 map per account, so that if you wanted you could publish the full 50mb in one map... would that hurt them so badly?

    The only big problem I see is loading time. Loading a map with 50mb of terrain data could take a good 10 minutes.

    Not to discourage people from doing this kind of thing, but I think you oughta know:

    If the terran part of the trilogy is about a growing faction, the zerg part of the trilogy is about the queen of blades, and only her. I believe it will have many rpg elements, which leads me to believe that the editor's rpg elements will improve significantly with the release of that game. The reason this could possibly be discouraging is that they might put off the addition of the basic rpg elements that were in WC3 until the zerg expansion comes out.

    But then again... is the glass half empty or half full?

    How do I set the button graphics myself? I know there's a way to set the button image... but it never seems to work properly. It uses part of it as a border and does weird stuff.
