1.In this story Kerrigan is written inconsistently, sometimes she is evil, sometimes she is noble, kinda depends on her mood I guess. But it's also the result of writing for convenience because it's much easier to write your characters into whatever role you need them to play at the moment rather than write them consistently. 2.Jim Raynor is also written inconsistent, first her swears to kill Kerrigan after she kills his friend, then her kills his own friend to protect Kerrigan, then he brings up the entire Fenix thing again and throws a little fit.

It's just the result of sloppy writing and more than that probably a result of the original Starcraft story being written by someone else with an entirely different vision for how they wanted to see the story unfold. But more than that it is because Blizzard figured that Kerrigan is their most iconic character and therefore must become the hero because that is what will sell. They are right is this respect but the problem is that they didn't have to make her noble in order to make her a hero, the reason we liked Kerrigan before was because she was an evil, badass, bitch, with a temper like a fire cracker! 3.Kerrigan loses this very important quality for really no apparent reason besides that Blizzard wants to make her the hero and they feel like only good people can be heroes.

    1. Depends on her mood... and why not?. Since when does anything have to be black or white?. It actually worked well, if you understood the thoughts behind her actions at any given time.
    2. All situational.
    3. So whats the difference between a good and evil hero?
She is not noble. Her goal was always to destroy Mengsk at any cost.

I actually completely disagree and find her character better in HoTs. We see all sides of her. As I said, she is fundamentally human. Infested, then de-infested etc. The events and her character play out as one should expect. Its not extreme in either good or evil.

Finished it. I have to say, Blizzard did a really amazing job on the campaign. Where WoL was convoluted at times, Heart of the Swarm is more linear and focused, and the missions revolving around the whole Zerg playstyle mechanics worked out well.

Story has some weak elements. As usual, Zeratul feels really out of place in his interactions. Other plot elements as others have mentioned too, kinda predictable etc.

Execution and implementation is near perfect. The story telling through the missions and cinematics is top quality work right there. Attention to detail, amazing. Kerrigan's character is brought to life, and the emotions/story behind her is portrayed really well. I would say she is on par with the legacy of Arthas/Lich king at this point as the greatest Blizzard characters of all time.

In conclusion its one of the best expansion single player campaigns to date from Blizzard. Im very critical, but I was really impressed by this.

    Good job Blizzard.

Your post is detailed on what kind of person needed, but it says nothing about the entity that hires him.

Irrelevant other than control on team structure, general management and finances.

    Quote from Taintedwisp: Go

and theres no details on the project. quit calling it project x the entire community knows its AoS 2, Give some details give some pictures/video, so people know what type of map they are dealing with and such.

    (1)
This is a common misconception. Development can be asynchronous as, like I said, multiple different types of projects/genres. In the long term Its more important to get people with the right attitude, than someone interested only in XYZ(game genre, flashy stuff, etc).

    Quote from Taintedwisp: Go

    My suggestions are.

    1. Remove everything about money, if your looking for people not motivated by money remove it.

    2. Show some project info, its aos 2, they are going to be making dota before it was dota, so tell some stuff publicly you cant find someone to work if they dont know what the work will be.

    3. Decide on a better name then AoS 2 ahahahahahaah

    4. either explain what the data scale is from 1-10 or remove that because a scale such as this is opinion based and holds no merit.

    5. Tell who else are on the team, There are some people I know I wouldn't work with. so atleast let them know otherwise if feels like you are trying to trap them in a team full of dicks.

    6. dont talk about perks, perks are extras they dont need to be made public.

    1. True I see your point. Though its just side extra compensation for time that we can cover on most positions at this point. Nothing to quit your day time job over, but you know. We dont have a problem with this.
    3. AoS 2 is only 'a' start point. Not "the", or "end".
    4. 9.5 is Kueken, 9/8 DrSuperEvil. Fairly high up there.
    5. Mozared is one such person. Along with Jake. Cool guys in my opinion.

Refer to point one at the top for reasons against pics, videos, etc. We dont see the need(at this point) and dont work by the 'general standard'(Which you look around and does not always work as intended). Work access is team centered only. I can dangle a shiny carrot but I want people interested and motivated beyond that(difficult and rare, but more worthwhile).

I dont like the 'Dark Voice' plot. Its the ultimate cheesy cliche. A deity entity like that is not tangible in Starcraft universe. I just dont like it, Zerg should be the primary antagonist force driving the story.

Kerrigan is just a muddle of confusion. It would make more sense if she was the Overmind re-incarnate(The Overmind being born again in her, but now in a more powerful host). Her constant humanity and then Zerg side, back and forth is just stupid and makes no sense in my opinion.

What happened to the Xel'naga?, Do they come to save or to destroy?(early WoL trailer). Did Blizzard forget about that or what?

Trailers are always designed for hype, and dont always deliver what you expect. I feel it might be the same case for HoTs.

That said, there is something that they could do which would not require too much extra balancing and would be lore friendly. That being, adding different factions for each race, like Dominion and UED for Terrans, and the Tal'Darim for Protoss, and different Zerg broods which could maybe each have a special unit or two and some perks. Might not work too well, but it could be fun and add some variety.

Like CnC Kanes Wrath. It actually worked well in that game As you say, adds some variety and its fun.
What I liked about Wc3 is just the amount of openings you can go with in terms of hero and following with army comp.

Starcraft 2 gets very boring, You basically have specific units designed for use only against a particular race instead of being useful in a variety of situations. Like Mech for Zerg, Bio for Toss. Only.

I was going to reply to that, but the fact that some of you think Starcraft 2 has strategic depth..Well...Yea.
Dawn of War the first RTS has so many races. All felt unique, fun, and viable. Granted some things were unbalanced but thats another point. Thats a game with lore and strategy I can get immersed in.

Blizzard cant think out of the box and be original anymore. Jump on the bandwagon to defend them because neither can you, and so make whatever excuses to try and prove a point.

posted a message on How many are going Proffesional? Or are?

    @Ice_bane: Go

For game development, the title "professional" means nothing and is worth less without it being measured against a benchmark of success.

Some areas of game development are very specialized, and no real formal training or studies can necessarily equip a person for such a field. This is obvious when you take a look at all the bad games out there(*cough diablo 3 cough), and those required skills are often innate.

The thing is, "people" make great successful games. You can be the best level designer out there, but if you're working with guys not good with Game design, Marketing, Graphics, etc etc etc, If one part of the chain breaks the whole thing is broken. Hence the industry is very volatile to studios closing, laying off employees(This could be you one day Icebane), filing for bankruptcy etc.
Every great game ever produced can be the result of sheer coincidence of the right people, at the right time , on the right project. Every other game is the result of people trying to hard when in reality they are not in sync.

So basically, what Im saying is dont use the word "professional" lightly in the context of the game development industry. Its a pitfall.

If philosophy/religion/wisdom had any merit at all beyond idle speculation, you'd have one school of thought for the entire planet that people would have all come to independently of each other.

Not really. Science is the same. You telling me the level of scientific advancement for one group will necessitate into a reality for another group in an eventuality?. Possible, but not probable, and there are many factors. The same goes for religion/wisdom/philosophy. Major groups share very common collective thoughts(A God/s, Law of Karma, distinction between good and evil etc). The rest is the result of cultural difference and whatever else.

    Quote from Gradius12: Go

Luckily, science doesn't waste its time trying to validate any of these hypotheses, but merely ignores them.

    Because it cant..
Although there does seem to be some evidence for things like past life regression, and some valid scientific endeavours in that field.
So yea, Science is slow, but eventually it might get to understanding and explaining the 'important" aspects of life. "Might". Hence belief serves a great role.
