It's more of an UI viewer at the moment, you can't edit a thing...
Quote from Patch Notes:
A new UI Module has been added. It allows modification of the UI layout files that control most aspects of the in-game UI. The initial release of this module focuses on exposing a simple XML editing interface for SC2Layout files, and further improvements are planned for the future.
Future = somewhere between the next beta patch and Legacy of the Void release.
The review system is nice. Some of the reviews have great feedback, some are completely useless garbage. It would be helpful if data about the maps was available on the sc2 website, so I wouldn't have to log into the game all the time.
The map page could include all the basic info that's visible in-game, plus:
advanced statistics (how many played, how long, did they finish it or quit)
the reviews in a more readable format (an RSS feed would be cool)
Btw. I uploaded my year-old map just for lulz and testing, now it's on the front page in top rated with 100+ reviews. Pretty good for a singleplayer map with zero replayability =D
No, they won't be wiped out, but since we've added and changed so many things with map data and the StarCraft II engine, maps should be probably be updated and re-published after 1.5.0 goes live. In the meantime, pre-1.5.0 maps may be cordoned off some-how until they're updated. You'll still be able to find and play pre-1.5.0 maps, but they won't have any of the new features until they're updated.
Once pre-1.5.0 maps are updated with a type (SC2 / Arcade) and genre, then re-published, they’ll appear in the correct spot.
Seems they forgot to mention this in the patch notes. It's called Terrain Texture At Point and it returns the "dominant" texture at the specified point.
create new dialog item allows you to select said types, and there is the "hook dialog item" action
Sorry, I haven't used the editor seriously in almost a year, so I might be missing something...
The Create Dialog Item function has some new dialog item types, but they're all related to the unit status bar - not interested in that.
The Hookup Standard Dialog is new and the description says "allows dynamic modification of any frame within the built-in UI". Now that's something I'm interested in, but it only has two parameters: Type and Name (I assume you type in the name from the XML layout files here), so how do i reference this dialog item? Let's say I want to use Move Dialog Item on it.
Update: As I said before, the 1.5 add a greate feature that allow you to use trigger to dynamicly control almost every built-in UI elements just like they are normal trigger dialogs
And now I found the beta build add additonal support for this, not only the UI layer, it even allow us to use triggers to contron unit status bar frame
Which means we can dynamicly control and modify the startus bars of every single unit, just like controling a normal trigger dialog.
A bit more details please? I don't see any new triggers (in the GUI) that can do this.
I can confirm that the client will download and work for people who didn't get an invite.
The UI editor is... disappointing... At Blizzcon they showed an editor that could modify UI elements on the fly, without having to constantly reload the map. This thing is just a simple interface for viewing and editing all that XML. Am I missing something? It's 2 at night here ;P
Also, where are those new triggers that allow manipulation of any ui element? Someone mentioned it a few pages back.
Random cool thing I found: you can specify a separate tutorial map or just make separate variant for it in your current map.
Please go right ahead and leak everything. Just do it quickly, before the helicopters land at your house and men in black take you away to the torture chambers beneath Blizzard HQ.
Edit: Wait, Rodrigo got an invite too, let him leak it.
But your friend is right, very few people make campaigns/scenarios in the style of SC2 campaign because they take a lot of time and don't have much replayability when compared to all those TDs and Dota clones.

IF the bible is the 100% accurate word of God(Which I believe it is)
How many slaves do you have and are you treating them nicely? I'm asking this question in the most derogatory manner possible.
Regarding the rest of your post: god of the gaps. Don't know what thunder is? Must be a god smiting the wicked. Don't know what the moon is? Must be a floating god. Don't know what happens after death? A god must be waiting for us on the other side. Don't know how the earth was created? God put it there for us. Don't know what's the purpose of those little lights in the sky? God put them there to give us something to do (he also did it with dinosaur bones). Don't know what happened before the big bang? God did it.
Edit: oh right, I should say something about this immortality/happiness thing so it doesn't look like I'm just here to spread the evil of atheism.
The happiest beings on the planet are children, because they are blissful ignorant of how ugly the world is. Since you don't remain a child forever (unless you're metally retarded or locked up in a dark room), then it doesn't matter if you're immortal or not - there will always be a child that is more happy than you.
I just had a revelation. I am now a sworn follower of the Greek Pantheon with Zeus as the father of all Olympian Gods ( I just slaughtered a bull in Zeus' name).
When it comes to the afterlife I believe that when we die we are sent to the shore or the river Styx where Charon charges a single coin to ferry us across to the entrance to the realm of Hades. The realm itself is divided into Tartarus, where the Titans are imprisoned (and always will, Zeus willing), the Elysian Fields where noble souls go (my prefered destination) and the Asphodel Meadows for common souls.
I personally am tired of all these movies and cartoons that portray Hades, God of the Underworld as some kind of evil Sauron guy. It offends me greatly.
I expect that all you nice agnostics will respect my beliefs and always say "we can't prove that there was no Hades".
there is no verifiable evidence that there is no life after death either since you can't prove a negative, so I'm not sure why you think it's OK to tell me I have no right to claim knowledge of "Truth"
We have to prove to you that there is no afterlife? You're the one making the claim, you prove it. If you can't then I have the right to say that your belief is stupid.

Didn't they disable the debugger for online games because people cheated by looking at variable values?
There's also a built-in chat command to show the debug window: TrigDebug.

You can change it in Map->Game Variants.

Attaching a demo/test map.

Points are identified by a number assigned to them, not their names. The name is used only in the editor for ease of use.
The galaxy function for points is: PointFromId(666) (the number is assigned according to the order in which the points were created)
